Just picked my dog Winter up from going there for the first time! Very nice people that work there. They went over all expectations which was nice, that way there are no surprise fees or unexpected things happen. They explained everything very well (different dogs hair, mat removal, etc). I did forget to bring the shot record, and they let me send a photo of it once I was home so that was awesome of them! My little pup looks so awesome and she was happy when I picked her up so she must have had a great time! They even put cute bows in her hair and a cute neck scarf! Stephanie was the groomer we used and she did an excellent job! I asked her to keep Winter slightly fluffy, and she did just that! Rheumatoid arthritis limits my ability doing this at home, as it has to be done in stages as to not exhaust myself physically or my dog's patience. Having your big (She's an "XL" on the rate sheet) double coated pup professionally deshed, is worth EVERY last penny both for the outcome on the dog, but also for value in the service. A full nail trim, shaving out the paw pads, as well as trimming up her shaggy hobbit feet takes patience and not a small amount of skill. (I've attempt to trim her feet, and let's just say it's utilitarian at best!). Erik did a fantastic job getting her overlong THICK heavy nails down to a very healthy and manageable length. Willow is a typical GSD, and doesn't appreciate having her feet messed with and has the strength and attitude to prove it. She also has the most ridiculously long and thick hair at the back her rear legs (wondering if there's a rogue Corgi in her family tree) which is almost impossible for me to thoroughly groom without help. Erik got this mass of fluff completely combed out and deshed, a miracle all on its own! We are more than happy to be a repeat customer of Lucky Pup Groomers. read more

I've had Kim and company clean and groom my doggies for years. They are so helpful for scheduling and fixing my errors, also. They really care also, Kim's team is like a problem look ahead for your dogs health. Recently they noticed a small issue I thought with my dog but reminded me it might not be. So I got a vet and sure enough my dog had some bad teeth that needed out. If you ask Kim, can paint your puppy but for warned it stays in about 3 months. That 4th of July paint will last till Labor Day if you get a good color to match! I am sure there is a up charge but I've enjoyed more than my wife over the years. Thanks, Lucky Puppy! read more

I have done all of those things for my puppy and highly recommend all of their dog services. We recently had a doggie birthday party at Lucky Puppy grooming when my puppy turned one year old. One of the managers of Lucky Puppy Grooming purchased a male Golden Retriever puppy from the same litter as my female puppy, so my puppy got to play with her brother puppy, and have doggie birthday cake in their fabulous doggie day care area with Happy Birthday decorations too :-) My puppy and her brother puppy had a great one-year birthday party! Recently, I have had the privilege of having the doggie day care manager, Will Lambert, come to my house for training with my golden retriever female puppy. Will is the best dog trainer! He is knowelgable and experienced. He has shown me how to properly practice the positive reinforcement training techniques he demonstrates every week, and lets me practice those techniques along with him while he's at my house. He knows how to build upon fine training details and explains each technique thoroughly. He has himself a big library of training techniques that he is willing to do when he works with your dog. He has also asked if there is anything in particular that I would like to work on. He does not overload me or my puppy with training or information, but he most certainly could if I wanted him to. My dog absolutely loves and respects Will and totally knows the morning of (and looks forward to) his arrival. She waits by the door with her tail wagging because she knows he is about to arrive. I'm sure she also remembers that he has a training pouch full of tasty cheesy dog treats. Golden Retrievers love food. I also tell her that Will is coming over, so that probably helps too lol! I highly recommend Lucky Puppy Grooming. I wish that I knew about them and all that they can do during the first 6-months of my puppy's life. Kim and her team did a great job! Our dog loves water and easily becomes matted due to tight curly hair. Kim walked us through what length she was going to have to take the dog down to. We understood because our dog was fairly matted. I got a call later saying Kim was able to get through the matted areas and could do cut a little longer if we liked. I was surprised by how well the groomer communicated with us and how happy our dog was. Our dog gets anxious and aggressive at times but had no problems. We did show up early for the appointment and promptly picked up our dog. We will be repeat clients and scheduling was a breeze. **EDIT to respond to the unprofessional comment below by the owner: that is the biggest lie. You are lying and trying to save face. I never sat in any chairs and your video camera will show you did not touch my dog before the appointment, I did not sit in the chairs, and my dog WAS let go after the appointment unaccompanied. I did not have my leash, I gave his leash attached to my dog to the receptionist who walked him back and she then put it on the desk. HE WAS let go and you should look at your cameras, because they will show that. Not sure how you would even know, because you wouldn't even walk out to see me after the appointment, so you should review your cameras, because a receptionist did not come out till after my dog had already ran out to me and they should be told that is not okay. We also did go over his full cut and length. I get this cut regularly, and have never had an issue. Also, i did not receive a single apology, especially not from you. This is so sad you lie, instead of just apologizing. I'll gladly go somewhere else...... Sad that I even have to write this type of review, but I really feel it needs to be said. I just moved back to Tricites and was excited to use Kim as a Groomer, because my mom's dog had been groomed quite a few times by her before he passed in January and my old groomer no longer works in Tricities! I go in and talk to the receptionist and she was friendly and she went to the back to grab the groomer since I wanted a specific cut on my Goldendoodle. 2 groomers come out and the receptionist and they all start asking me questions about my dog (keep in mind, none of them touch my dog or even get close, all stand behind the counter/desk area). I explain that I want his belly shaved down, butt shaved down, body and tail short (we go over length), the top of his head and it's length, and I want his ears shaved short on the edges. I look for a functional cut because we are very active, not a typical "doodle cut". I go to pick him up and at first glance he looks fine. I was surprised when a different receptionist brought him out and just handed him to me without saying anything to me. The Groomer didn't come out to talk to me, I had to ask the receptionist if he did good, which was told "from what I know, yeah". So, I pay and leave. I get home and realize his belly is not shaved, tail and ears didn't look any different than when I dropped him off, his feet had random hairs sticking out and his mouth wasn't trimmed up. So, I call and ask if I can bring him back and I APOLOGIZE for even complaining, because I know things can get crazy in a groom shop (I worked at a groom shop for a year and know how things work), I didn't receive an apology back, just a sigh and was told to bring him back now. I get there, the groomer doesn't even bother to come out and talk to me to know what to fix, so I point out all the issues to the receptionist and he is taken into the back. After my dog is done, he is just let go. So my dog runs into the lobby without a leash and without anyone with him... the the blondish receptionist comes out and is like "is that fine?" And before I could even answer the other receptionist comes out with another mans dogs and they all start talking to him and ignore me. So, I go grab my own leash from their desk and hook it on my dog and walk out. Will never be back. It's so sad, because I have been getting my dog groomed for 5 years in the 3 different places I've lived and have always had a groomer that makes me and my dog feel welcome, important, and most importantly listens to how I want my dog groomed. Also sad that I was treated so much differently than my mom, because she and her friends that go there say that Kim usually comes out and talks about how the dog did that day and establishes a relationship with not only the dog, but the owner. My dog does look better after some fixes, but his belly still has patches of hair. Sad that We were treated as though they didn't want me or my dog there and will be looking for a friendlier grooming environment. (I will add though, I did appreciate that they seemed to take my dog's health issues seriously) EDIT: further review of my dog, nails were not clipped and his arm pits still have long hair. Very great locally owned grooming place! They were super friendly and were able to schedule my dog the next day. I had never had my 13-year-old Australian Sheppard groomed before and she needed a major de-shedding. They did a great job and her fur was so soft and shiny afterward, not to mention beautifully free from the clumps of her undercoat she was shedding. I especially appreciated that they took extra time with her since she is older and this was her first time. I also appreciated that they have multiple methods for drying, they used a kennel dryer for my dog since she ended up being scared of the high velocity dryer. I am a very protective dog owner. I don't leave my dogs alone when I take them to the vet--I'm lucky enough to have an awesome vet that allows me to be present during all procedures. I am the same way with Groomers. Unfortunately, my groomer retired, and I had to find a new one. Lucky Puppy Grooming was recommended highly to me by a friend who had heard great things about them from her other friends who have used them. I also research the specific groomer that will be doing the work to make sure I feel good about the person doing the grooming. I decided I would give Lucky Puppy a try as the owner has loads of experience working with special needs animal--my thinking was she must be very patient and kind. I called to speak with the owner to discuss my dogs' grooming needs. I was immediately put off my the bursque way the phone was answered. I was not greeted, told hold, the phone was set down, and I was privy to the conversation between the receptionist and a client for rescheduling an appointment. BTW, without fail, EVERY time I called, the person answering would say "hold a moment"--not even a hello or you've reached Lucky Puppy Grooming. I should have listened to my gut--the way the phone was answered should have registered more clearly as the first red flag warning. The receptionist picked the phone up, asked what I wanted. I asked to speak with the owner. I was told she was busy and that if I left my information, she would call. Later that day she did call and we had a great conversation which made me feel like I had found my next groomer. I booked an appointment with her, provided my dogs' information, and asked when a good time would be to come tour her facility--any time was her answer. Unfortunately, a family emergency prevented me from visiting before my appointment. When I arrived, I entered their lobby. The receptionist looked at me --no greeting--she turned and went into the back. I waited for about 5 minutes, then a couple came in with their very large dog--who I'm sure was a nice dog, but I had to ask them to step back from my dogs that were very nervous-- the lobby is small. The receptionist came back, walked right past me to greet this couple, and engaged with them and their dog. The owner came out and did the same thing. she then took their dog and went in back. The couple and receptionist chatted for a few more minutes and they left. The receptionist then turned to me--no smile, no hello, and asked who I was scheduled with. She called for the owner and then began working at her desk. Several minutes later, the owner came out front. We discussed the different grooming needs for each of my dogs. She seemed friendly and was engaging with my dogs. She said that since this was their first time with her, she wanted four hours so she could give them breaks if they were very nervous. I agreed and left. Four hours later, I was called to let me know my dogs were done. Again, the same type of lack of a greeting when I arrived. The receptionist called to the owner to let her know I was there. While waiting for her to bring my dogs, the receptionist went to the back, so I took the opportunity to look into the grooming room. I was shocked by how dark it was in there. I wondered how they had enough light to see well enough to groom. The owner brought my dogs out, the receptionist followed her out. I was handed my dogs and the owner told me one of my dogs was camera shy and left for the back. I was stunned. I hadn't given permission for them to photograph my dogs--I wasn't even asked if they could. Then the receptionist told me the charges, and while she rang me up I looked my dogs over. The cut I asked for each of them was a puppy cut--a puppy cut is short--to the length I specify (I requested 1/2" in length), tummy shaved, the bottom and vagina areas clipped very close, tail fur clipped back approximately 2" from its base, fur around the ears clipped, and eyebrows and breads trimmed to approximately 1/2" and 3/4" respectively. All of my dogs had ragged cuts--spots that were missed or left longer than the rest, the fur around their ears and eyes was not trimmed as discussed. More importantly my dogs were very agitated and nervous. They kept trying to jump up as they do when they're afraid. l paid and left. When I got home, I looked each one over more carefully. I could see where the clippers were run--blade marks showing different heights in their fur, places where it looked like they didn't check to ensure the fur was even--one of my dogs has an area on the back end that is at least 1-1/2" long compared to the other side that is 1/2" long. Another has the fur trimmed around one ear but not the other. I could list a lot more wrong with the cuts, but I think my message is clear. I will NOT take my dogs there again--if I had to I would groom them myself. I do NOT recommend Lucky Puppy Grooming at all! read more

The staff was amazing with my fur baby! He has so much anxioty getting his nails done. They got the job done and did it with compassion and patience. To help him get used to the process she suggested I stop by inbetween trimmings to get him use to her, the table, the tools, and enviroment. Out of the last six places I took him (vets and groomers) only one could do his nails and they were very stern, no compassion. Hes not agressive just gets super stressed out.
