We were staying in La Grande for a couple days and there isn't much to do so we decided it was a good idea to just go somewhere to sit and enjoy a beer. We found the staff here very friendly. It's just your standard dive bar but there was no lotto at the time we were there, but they're trying to sell so it may be back eventually. We didn't care as we were more interested in poutine fries and cold beer. They have a couple couches here too so we decided to sit there. Glad we did because we were able to chat with locals who joined us (who also happened to know relatives of mine who grew up there). The food was good and I liked that it was a little different than what I usually see here in Portland. We decided to return another day for dinner because I needed to try the lobster mac n cheese melt. Yep, it was as good as it sounds! Had the chicken Caesar salad and it was very plentiful and good. Service was great. Ambiance was eclectic. The only thing I did not care for is they had a disco ball in the middle of the bar area that was very distracting and made it hard to watch the sports on tv or enjoy who you were with. They are do some upgrades in the other area of the bar. read more

The lady that served us was super nice and easy to talk to, our food came quickly and was absolutely amazing, and it was really nice and clean, we'll definitely be back next time we pass through La Grande. I think they might have the best mac and cheese i've ever had! read more

Came to Lucky's for the first time with a group of friends to watch the OSU football game on the big screen. The staff is wonderful, friendly and make you feel welcome. I wish I could give 0 stars. This was the worst bar service we have ever received. We brought my sister-in-law there for her 21st and the red-headed bartender had no idea how to make a BJ shot. We then ordered a Sour Patch drink which we had ordered there many times before and he made a comment like "What are you guys in high school?". My wife had to google the recipe for him which he still managed to mess up. He made another rude comment when he handed her the drink. It's no wonder to me that they're selling the place because they couldn't have hired a more piece of crap bartender. We got our drinks and left because of how much of a rude person he was. I will never go back and I highly recommend nobody else go if you plan to have a good time. They have no lottery, crappy drinks, and terrible music. read more

If you have not been here yet you should come by, it's a mice place, the prices are great, the food is good the staff is friendly, they do have music playing and at a level that is perfect so you can talk normal and still hear without anyone yelling It's not very big maybe 40 people comfortably, as for food I wanted there burger but if you know me I don't do frozen patty's so I got the chicken rolls and fries and they were pretty good, so why only 4 stars well I only had 2 problems, 1 the frozen burger patty's, come in charge another dollar get real hamburger and a burger press and people will come just for the burgers and fries, the second is I used the bathroom and after washing my hands I used their had dryer and then has to unlock the door and wash them again, not a huge issue but one worth mentioning. And last they have free WiFi and it's pretty fast, anyway I recommend this place and I will be back I'd say don't hesitate come check them out read more

Just traveling through and happened upon this place. Loved it! The frys are amazing, the poutine was fabulous. Drinks were great. We met Diana, the owner, and really enjoyed talking to her. Really nice wall display of leather work done by a local man. I make good chili, but Lucky's was better! read more

Best chicken wings I've had in my life! Bartender (same young blonde lady mentioned in other reviews I think) was friendly, helpful, and AWESOME. My girlfriend says the curly fries were super good and the pineapple cider (which they let her sample for free!) was great too. I couldn't believe this place only had 2 stars on yelp but that's what happens when one large group is upset I guess ALSO had gender neutral bathrooms which is always a pleasant surprise. We came in 4pm and there was 2 customers inside. We rode in with a group of 17- the bartender- young blond female was horrific. She didn't look up, when we asked if they were open she huffed and rolled her eyes saying yes rudely and again without even looking up. Then said "what do you want" sounding irritated like we were there bothering her watching the show Naked and aAfraid show. Then as 2 of us ordered she asked if it was 1 tab- we said no. Came here with a group of 17 on a Sunday afternoon after a long morning in the sun. There was one other customer in the bar. The female bartender did not greet us at all, and once asked if they were open sarcastically answered us yep what do you want? Without making eye contact. She seemed very upset we were there. Myself and 16 other people came in around 4p on 7/14 to have a few drinks. There were 2 other customers in the entire bar. We were immediately greeted with a huge attitude from the bartender. She was VERY unhappy we came in trying to spend money in this bar and made no attempt to hide her disdan for all of us. When we comfirmed there would be about 10 different tabs, she rolled her eyes and sighed very heavy while opening a beer. Please keep in mind all of this took place in the course of about 3 minutes. My friends and I were on a road trip. We stopped into Lucky's for a drink and to hang out. Now, to start this review of AWFUL service - I want to at least put out there - we were a VERY large group (17) and there was only one bartender working. So I can absolutely understand being overwhelmed or frustrated with a large group coming in. We walked in, there were two other customers in the entire bar, and she was obviously less than thrilled we were all walking in. She did not greet us and was a bit rude with our initial interaction with her. When we asked if she was open, trying to be polite, she responded with "yup, what do you want?" She didn't even look up at us. We began ordering drinks and her attitude towards the orders was obvious annoyance, frustration, and not inviting at all. She asked if the drinks would be on one tab and when we said "no, we will have to split them up" she slammed a beer down and was upset. We all decided to leave. She had only opened up one beer and had not began making any other drinks at all. The environment and vibe that she created was very negative. Again, I understand being one person to serve a large group. All she needed to do was communicate and be kind. We were a very patient group and would have loved to tip and give service back to this establishment. Instead, we all left.
