It's been three or four years since I last went. There were classic cultural highlights like Sumo and Kendo, and even hands-on experiences such as archery and sword-cutting demonstrations. Up on the second floor, the Hands-on Experience area featured bonsai, ikebana (flower arrangement), and shodo (Japanese calligraphy) -- all worth visiting and exploring. The biggest highlight this year was definitely the "LINQ" idol group performance -- their sweet voices, energetic choreography, and youthful vibe filled the entire stage. I couldn't help but feel, deep down, "Ah, youth is truly wonderful." Picked up a "To You" CD, grabbed some Japanese street food, and just soaked in the atmosphere.

There was such a wide variety of foods from all sorts of different authentic cuisines to snacks and homemade treats for on the go! We ended up getting a frozen pink lemonade, elotes and the impossible gyoza. One of the stalls did sell fresh apple cider donuts and I would definitely recommend getting them if you go! Overall such a good time and experience with your friends and family! You can easily spend a couple hours here and they have a mini pumpkin patch, face painting, live music you name it! DACULA FALL FESTIVAL!…read more This festival is just a big mystery to me because I could find no information regarding its start or its age. It is as if today was the first day that they held this festival. For every single festival I have ever attended, their is some on-line documentation about the festival regarding the date and circumstances, number of attendees the previous year, vendors etc. This festival offered nothing! Let me just say this: If you aren't excited about your festival and don't "shout it out", how will people know to attend? Be proud and represent your festival to the fullest! When we arrived, we realized that this is a very small community festival. It is held in the center of town at Old Mill Park which is a really nice venue with outdoor seating and a performance stage. This seemed to be a festival designed more for the locals than visitors because of the limited vendors and lack of festival information. Although there were no food trucks, there was food offered from a local restaurant and from other vendors. Unfortunately much of what was offered was hotdogs, burgers and sandwiches. I would have appreciated more options. There was one table that interested me because it was obvious that the treats were homemade and there were samples. I sampled the apple pound cake and it was delicious! It was made from quality ingredients, the flavors were balanced, the apples were fresh and not canned and there was a beautiful baked topping that just made the cake sing. I have never purchased a cake because I prefer to bake them myself. However, I was happy to buy two servings to go but I had to get into mine right away! It never made it back to the car. Yes!! If you just want to get out of the house, chill and meet some people in a quiet setting, this is your festival.

Granted, it is a lot smaller but they packed a lot of lights in there for a $10 entry. ($10 is the online price, $12 at door) It is in a random residential area with a gravel driveway so you might miss the entrance, especially in the dark (We had to make a U-turn) but the GPS does take you there, just follow it carefully. It turns out this festival is on some farmland. It has a gravel parking lot and you walk through dirt/grass...so wear comfortable flat shoes. There are different light themes throughout. You first enter the "Under the Sea" theme. Other themes scattered around are Christmas, Chinese, etc. It is a quick walk through, but if you stop to take perfect Instagram worthy pics like I did, you can easily be there for an hour or 2. There's also a few fire pits, a little makeshift ice skating area, some farm animals, and a food/vendor tent. Inside the tent is where we saw the huge panda mascot! It was dancing and brought great energy to the crowd. I'm a HUGE panda fan so obviously I had to take a picture and even made it dance with me. Hehe. Everyone loved the panda and it truly made our visit. That pretty much ended our night, so we headed back to the car after an hour and a half. This place is only operational until Jan 1, 2022 so I would go before it closes!

I like the paved pathways through the park. Oh, parking is a bit tough as it was full lots all around with a $10 fee. We chose like many others, to park on a curb about 3 blocks away. It was a walk but a better option than waiting in a big line of traffic for a full lot with no spaces. Show up early! There are some shows included in your ticket price. A man shot out of a cannon and PIG Racing! LOL kinda funny to watch! The Fair in Cumming GA is one of the cleanest, most safe fairgrounds in GA. They have a Cotton Gin display that is pretty neat and can teach your children a thing or two, if they aren't too overdosed on sugar from cotton candy! Huge corn dogs for $10, was a bit pricey and surprising!

A Sunday well spent with my family on the last day of the Cumming Country Fair & Festival! This was…read moremy first time attending, and was actually their 30th year, but certainly will not be the last time I visit. It's an annual event, and one of the largest events held at the Cumming Fairgrounds. Family friendly with tons of attractions including games, rides, a petting zoo, and lots of yummy food and drink vendors. Admission was $10, and they do offer deals for unlimited rides and such depending on your plan for your visit. Kiddos 10 and under get in for free which is nice. I enjoyed a delicious cheeseburger and fries, and of course, had to get a frozen lemonade. The funnel cake was calling my name but I ended up deciding to skip it as line was long and I knew I didn't need the extra sugar. I am regretting not enjoying a caramel apple, however! We played a few staple carnival games, and just enjoyed walking around the grounds and taking in all there was to offer. Next year (if I'm not pregnant again), I will definitely try out a few rides!

For such a crowd, they did a splendid job and the location (Athletics club) was perfect. The weather was great, so it made it easy to walk and gaze at the stalls at our own pace. We saw some amazing artwork by several artists and stuff like jewelry, wood-carved decor, clay paintings, water paintings and last but not least, my favorite - handmade chocolates. Vendors were super polite and smiling and some of them told us about their stories and their experiences coming to the festival. I wish I could have bought more if only the prices were a bit reasonable. But, I'm glad I picked up a delicious bag of toffee made by Maybird Confections located in Alpharetta. Yum! The BSA Troop adults working the 2023 festival were rude and disrespectfully. If you can get past all that, the vendors and art booths were very unique. You can find a little bit of everything. Not many food choices but enough to keep you hydrated and entertained. We had Cuban sandwiches from their food truck and it was really good. There was a small area where you could sit and listen to the music.. Overall it's a nice event but you should defiantly arrive early in the morning and arm yourself with patience.

Catering by Marlowes and access to some really fantastic reserve beer makes it worth the extra money. Not much of a crowd inside the tent, but after they opened the gates, lines started piling up quick. Still, no waits more than a couple minutes, unless you wanted to use the VIP bathrooms. They really needed more... BTW, if you had a problem with traffic or parking, it's because you didn't take Uber. It's a BEER FEST; don't drive!!! We won't make the mistake of missing this event again...
