The four of us arrived at the Thai restaurant starving and ordered appetizers right away (Spicy…read moresoup with shrimps 13.50chf and 4 chicken skewers with Satay sauce 8.00chf). The bowl of soup was large enough for two as an appetizer. The chicken skewers were good but did not resemble the photo on the wall (which was what enticed us in the first place). The two of us who ordered the pad thai (described on the menu as "pan fried noodles with shrimp, chicken, or tofu") were very pleased: "Not too much sauce, not too greasy." The dish came with condiments on the side (chili pepper, lime...). The green curry with chicken and pumpkin and red curry with duck were flavorful and delicious. The portions are rather large but it was not possible to share family style because each dish arrived with the rice already on a large dinner plate. The waitress kindly packed up my friend's leftover pad thai in a take out box. A rarity outside the US! According to our friendly, chatty waitress, her mom was the one cooking in the kitchen which explained why all the dishes came out fresh. I can't wait to return to try the other items on the menu....for the first time, I'm tempted to order for take out to maximize my culinary experiences there! Pros: delicious, value for money, generous portions, friendly service, cleanest toilet in Lausanne Cons: small space (perhaps up to 25 people), not suitable for large groups as tables are limited, must share table with other diners, they need to get thai ice tea on their menu!

The food was delicious (I ordered the 5 spice duck), and the price was very reasonable - especially for a tourist haven in Switzerland. The main downside is that they don't have many indoor tables, they're mainly a take-away joint. This didn't bother us much - we just took our food down to the lakeside to eat it. They also have menus in English, which was greatly appreciated since my French is terrible.

We just moved to Lausanne today from London and decided we needed to have a cliché pot of fondue to…read moremark the occasion. We've been to two others on a trip here (Cafe Grütli and Pinte Besson), so we wanted to try somewhere new to us. We were warned service here was not great, but we found the opposite - it was friendly and efficient. While the fondue didn't have the sharpness or tang of the other two we've tried (must be the mix of cheese here), we actually liked that it was a bit more mild. However overall we preferred the other two a bit more. The potatoes, cornichons, and onions we ordered to go with it are necessary for completing the fondue experience, as bread alone gets boring. Had a bottle of local wine to round out the meal and left very happy that this was the start to our new lives in Switzerland! Will be back!

Where Mum and Dad met!!!…read more Dad was the Chef and mum a waitress! Such a not-to-be-missed institution in Lausanne ... not me the restaurant of course! A place dear to me indeed, but the locals have been going there for decades to enjoy authentic local cuisine and his unique atmosphere. The venue has not lost its charm. Don't miss it if you enjoy going where the locals meet and don't mind coming out smelling of cheese fondue. It is a very lively yet warmly cozy and welcoming venue staffed with true professionals. Half-half cheese fondue is not the only option to choose from. A great choice is the Vaudois specialties called ¨Papet vaudois¨ - a dry smoked sausage filled with cabbage and served over leeks and potatoes - very suited for cold months. A more summery dish would be the 'Filets de perche meunière', Perch fillets (hopefully from the Geneva lake) served with a parsley butter sauce, some tartar sauce and French fries. Hope you will like it as much as we do in Lausanne.
