My pet and I both love Luv My Pet! After a bad experience with one of those bigger companies where people walk dogs as a side gig for extra income, I wanted to look locally for a smaller business. I like the fact that this company is based just a few blocks from me and I often see the owner around the neighborhood. They recently added an app feature so it's nice and convenient and I can send messages directly through the app. I can't rave enough about one of their dog walkers, Hillary! My corgi absolutely adores her (sometimes I think he loves her more than me) and she takes the best pictures of my cute little pup. We have had a great experience with Luv My Pet. We have a rescue Chihuahua with an abusive past who has some trouble trusting people, and he can be... a bit grumpy with strangers. We work long hours and were wary about scheduling walks with a service, but Kaitlyn from Luv My Pet has been so patient and loving with our guy (even though he sometimes barks at her), and their daily walks have really helped to socialize him. She even gets him to cuddle with her on occasion! We get a text message from Kaitlyn every day after their walk to let us know how he did, and sometimes we get pictures. Scheduling is so easy and convenient. We just email Jeff our schedule every month, he immediately sends us an invoice, and we pay online -- including a tip for Kaitlyn. Whenever something comes up, like if my work schedule suddenly changes or I stay home sick, I just text Kaitlyn to let her know. We have been using Jeff and his team since we moved to Baltimore almost 4 years ago. What started as a family of 3 dogs turned into 4 dogs and cat and occasional fosters but none of the walkers batted an eye. So grateful for the love and attention our furry kids get on each visit whether planned or requested on the fly. I am doing this review right now specifically for the recent attention our eldest dog received... dax our 14 yo GS started his decline with losing strength in his back legs. Tanya one of Jeff's employees didn't let his decline stop her from giving great service, she would help him outside for pee breaks and would hold him up so that he wouldn't pee on himself! After she left for a different job, I continued with Luv My Pet but wasn't happy at all with the service. Tuck wasn't walked consistently at the same time and I often came home to notes from different walkers. I will give two stars because they did actually show up and feed my cats. I was just a little annoyed that they only spent an average of 8 min at my house each time. I paid the same price for cat sitting as you would for dog walking and the dog walking is supposedly 25min. I know their main service is dog-walking, but Luv My Pet also offers pet-sitting for cats when owners are out on long trips. My wife and I were just out of town for two weeks and needed someone to feed the cats and clean the litter box. The service also includes bringing in the mail. We came home from our trip yesterday and saw our (well fed) cats. Our cats eat pretty quickly and occasionally it comes back up, and I saw a few areas where the person from Luv My Pet had cleaned up the bulk of these messes. It was nice that the entire mess hadn't just been left there. Also, there was a half-bottle of wine with custom label from Luv My Pet waiting for us at home! Very nice touch. Overall, we have used this service 3 times now and have never been disappointed or surprised by anything when we return home. I was so pleased to find your service. we were a little hesitant at first to use a service. We have even set up our alarm and camera in our home to make sure everything went according to what we had expected without anyone's knowledge of it being there. We used Jeff and Luv My Pet for a few years before finally moving on to much better pet sitting options. We were lukewarm at best with Jeff at first, but things turned disastrous and we ended up leaving Luv My Pet altogether after one final terrible incident. We live in Baltimore City, and I'm sure everyone reading this knows how important security & safety needs are when living in the city with our crime rates. Well, after being out of state for nearly a week and contracting Jeff to stop over every morning to take care of our cat, we came home late on a Sunday night to a mess. First of all, our front door was not locked when we came home. Yes, the door was left unlocked in Baltimore City. And then in our kitchen, a cupboard door was wide open and a Baccarat crystal alcohol drinking glass was sitting on the counter. At this point, we are pretty freaked out and are thinking that we had been robbed, so I immediately called Jeff to ask him what happened, but I just got his voicemail. I left him a nervous message and asked him to call me back. I later received a call back from some gal I had never heard of before named Tanya. I don't know who Tanya is, but she proceeds to tell me that she was the one who had been at my home on behalf of Luv My Pet, and then goes on and on about how good she is at her job, how long she has been doing this, etc. She didn't seem to care less that we were freaking out about our house being left open by her to anyone, but she definitely wanted me to know how good she feels she is. Tanya said she used the crystal glass to add water to the cat water bowl. Ok...but she couldn't use any of the other dozens of regular glasses, & couldn't close the cupboard door or put the glass away? It turns out that unbeknown to us, Jeff gave our house keys & the care of our cat to some person who is a complete stranger to us without our knowledge or permission. We didn't authorize that, and Jeff didn't even give us the courtesy or respect of a phone call to ask us if it would be ok for him to handover the care of my pet & my home to someone else. And to top it off, the person that he handed this to, Tanya, left our front door open. Tanya's complete lack of attention to any detail is shocking. And Jeff's cavalier attitude that he will just hand your home keys out & the care of your pet to someone without telling you about it, without asking you if it is ok, but just assuming that he can do what he wants without discussing it with his customers first is also shocking. As if this situation couldn't get any stranger for us during this incident, it yet did. When we contracted Jeff to take care of our cat, he agreed that he would stop at our home the first thing every morning by 8am and this would be his first stop of the day since we only live a few blocks from him. As such and since we were out of town for so long, we asked a friend of ours to stop by one night to check on our cat. To our further shock, she told us that Jeff showed up one night at about 6pm when she was there. He told her he was there for his daily check-in, but turned around and left when he saw that she was taking care of him. So despite that Jeff agreed to stop by our home to take care of our cat the first thing every morning, he didn't show up until 6pm one night during this extended trip, which means he hadn't been to our home in the prior 36 hours, and then he just turned around and left when he saw our friend there. I don't make emotional decisions and thought a lot about this entire incident for a week, but then made the decision to move on to a different pet sitter and get my home keys back from Jeff before he handed them off to some other stranger. The decision to move on was the best decision we made with Jeff and Luv My Pet, and I should have done it a lot sooner. Jeff is all business and doesn't care about your pet or your home the way you do or the way he should. Jeff was never attentive to our cat and didn't spend any time with him when he contracted his service. He was in and out of our home in usually 8 minutes flat, and then on to make more money from other customers. And unbeknown to us, he has so many customers that he now has to subcontract out to other sitters but will not take the time to discuss this with you for your feedback or approval. If you want a Pet Sitter who is all business, who will subcontract out and give the keys to your home to somebody you don't know without any knowledge of this and run the risk of this person having no attention to details and not knowing how to lock your front door, and then have to deal with Jeff's cavalier attitude about it, then Luv My Pet is the service for you. If you want a Pet Sitting service who actually listens to your needs and concerns, who gives you the respect and courtesy of a phone call when they need to make a change for some reason, and who actually cares about customers; then you need to go with someone else. We've only been using the dog walking services for a few weeks now, but our girls are so happy every day when we come home. The difference in them is noticeable. Greg always leaves us kind notes about how sweet and loving they are (I might be biased, but really, it's true) and will even carry our little dachshund mix if she gets tired so her big sister can get her full walk. While I've never actually met Greg in person, our consultation was with Jeff and he was incredibly attentive. Mollie is a very anxious dog and he had her won over within minutes, which is incredibly rare for her. I was so happy watching him interact with the dogs. Our first meet and greet is where it all started. Jeff Rothschild came into our house and didn't look up from his cell phone once even when he meet our dogs he bent down patted them on the head and went right back to his phone. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and thought maybe the person walking the dogs will pay more attention to them. She did and she was great with them. However... Our first visit they messed up and only came 2x out of the 4x we paid for. If we had not called them out on it they were not going to tell us about it. They refunded us and marked it up to a miss-communication between the dog walkers. Ok, I was now skeptical but I am an honest and forgiving guy so I gave them the benefit of the doubt, again. 2nd time was fine, I think they felt the pressure after the first screw up. 3rd time, they only came 3x out of the 4 we paid for, they did call and let us know that they couldn't make it to one of the visits. Ok fine whatever I was angry but understanding, it was snowing. Then I checked our alarm system and it showed that they only came for 2 minutes and 7 minutes for two of the visits. I am sorry but I paid for 30 minute visits, my dogs need to be outside for more then 2 minutes!!! This was the last straw, I demanded a refund. I would not use this company, I would not recommend this company to anyone. Your better off leaving your back open and food out for your dogs. I have been using Luv my pet for two years now and have never had a bad experience. If there is ever a billing issue Jeff (the owner) is great, he quickly works things out. If there is an rescheduling issue he is always accommodating. It has never taken him more than 15 min to respond to any of my emails. The dog walkers are great sometimes I run into them on my work from home days and they always look happy to be out walking around. I get the impression they enjoy what they are doing. To the fellow who said Jeff didn't look up from his phone - he takes notes on his phone of everything the owner says about how they want their pet treated.
