This post is for the High Street location. OMG! After tip and tax, my mani/pedi came to almost $70, that is not for a fill, gel, shellac or anything fancy, just regular 'ol mani pedi. I feel so ripped off. Earlier I had been waiting for over 30 minutes past my appointment and there are three other people who waited just as long who were booked earlier than I was. The staff has been apologetic and recognizes the long wait. They were very nice, thorough and the place was clean. I went to this place in Abbotsford 7oaks Mall and it was absolutely terrible service. The man doing my nails kept twisting my arm and wrists in every direction possible to fill file and paint my nails. Uhh maybe he should of repositioned his self and turned his head to do the job right! Omg never had such terrible service, he kept telling me to stay still! I was still for the 1 hour and 30min so uncomfortably with my arm extended through the plexy glass. It took him 1.5 hrs to do a simple fill. October last year. I remember because I wrote it all down as I reported it to Fraser Health. I had some leisure time after my doctors appointment and thought, hey why not go get my toenails redone. Didn't have an appointment for my regular place so I went to the mall (7 Oaks) Was kind of disappointed to see some guy who clearly hasn't gone to school for this (probably trained by a coworker on basics)was the one to give me my pedi. I thought ok, whatever, I really just want a fresh coat of polish anyway. While having the pedi thought OMG this is the worst pedi I've ever had, no attention to detail, no attention to the actual pedicure part of it. I think they thought they could get away with putting in someone that'll scrub your legs and do some sort of ridiculous karate chops on your legs and pass it off. I still thought, whatever, as long as the polish looks good. So, was distracted by scenery and not having my glasses on, decided, hey, let's see how it's looking. Put my glasses on and looked at the job being done. Sudden sinking in my gut, OMG he put that thing between my toes, it's disgusting!!! The pictures don't even show really how dirty they are. I immediately started questioning him. How many times do you reuse these? He said only maybe 3 times then we throw it out. I said do you sanitize them? He said, it's ok because it's after the people have there feet cleaned. I told him that soaking your feet in blue water will not kill foot fungus, athletes foot, warts or anything else. He said his boss tell them to reuse them. I took them off my feet and told him I want to talk to his boss. When I talked to her I showed her the toe separators and questioned her. She said no only reuse once. I explained to her, that's all it takes is once. This is a porous material and who knows what the last person had. She tried to take them from me and I wouldn't let her. I told her I was taking the to a lab cause I want to know what my feet were exposed to. She tried to give me new ones and said no take these ones to the lab. I looked at her like "are you kidding me?" I just said I'm having these swabbed and analyzed, I I'll let you know the results! And I left. Yes, I still had to pay while I waited to talk to her. Hopefully that scares them enough that they will stop this disgusting practice, but I doubt it! read more

This review is for the seven oaks location. Absolutely horrible! The owner does not listen, does not pay attention to detail nor what you want. My usually nail salon was booked and this place allowed walk ins so I gave it a try.. I went for a refill and my friend did shellac manicure. I had the owner (Sandra) do mines. I came in with 2 1/2 weeks grown out real nails with acrylic, Polish and gel on top. I advised her I wanted a refill and that these are my real nails. Without asking she went ahead and cut my index finernail super short ( so short it cut the skin behind my fingernail ) if I wanted to have long nails again I wud have to put on a fake tip which wasn't what I wanted. I now have no choice but to cut the rest of my nails to the same short length. (I am already annoyed at this point) When my finger started bleeding she didnt even say sorry instead she said "why don't u do fake nails?" I thought she didn't understand English so I started speaking to her in Vietnamese. She glanced at me and responded back In English. As she was removing the acrylic she did a horrendous job.. It was painful.. I don't know if she was annoyed that I didn't want fake nails or just didn't bother to pay attention, she used the corner of a fake to lift the acrylic but ended up trying to lift my real nails from the side! She began to use the cuticle cutter to cut the corner of my nails (which is fine but that would give me a round nail shape and not squared which is what I asked for) I am furious at this point and said I will just remove them myself.. Furthermore, My only option was to get shellac on these short real nails.. Needless to say the end result was gel Polish on the corners, onto my skin that she didn't bother to file off. My friends nail tech could tell I wasn't happy and was nice enough to fix them for me. I was charged $36 and gave $5 tip, I made sure my tip was not going towards Sandra but the nail tech that fixed it. I will NEVER go back nor refer any family or friends. The head employee was very helpful and sweet. She really seemed like she loved it there. My mom and I got a mani/pedi it it turned out to be $150!!! So expensive!! You also have to pay extra for more than one colour. You have to pay $5 extra for each colour; which is just insane. I'm definitely not going there again. read more

I got acrylic nails, and the process of getting the nails put on, shaped, and filed was very painful and rough and the nail tech was not very friendly. I don't need to be best friends with my nail tech, but she was very brusque. The nails themselves looked pretty nice, but could've used another coat of polish. The nails were durable, evenly filed, and they have good colour selection, if you're more concerned with the final product than any discomfort while the nails are being put on. read more

I wish I could give this a rating lower than 1. So I went in on a Tuesday with my daughter to make an appointment for the friday. The owner was fully aware of the services we were wanting and she informed me of prices. On Friday we arrived and they were late.... Like not late from helping people, but the store wasn't even open. When they finally arrived after 15 minutes my daughter and I started picking our nail colors. We were then rudely asked what were we doing and what do we want. I told her we had an appointment and she then told me that she would only do my daughters nails is I paid extra for her to have shellac. I kept insisting that I wanted to keep the standard Mani pedis that we discussed on Tuesday. She then told me that because I wouldn't agree to shellac that she would now only do a Mani OR a pedi but still with shellac only. Luv nail studio and I really love the staffs there are so nice and they offered me anything to drink and my technician was so great and took very well care of my nails. I got a acrylic set with accent nails, my nails came out great there were no lumps or bumps what so ever the acrylic has the right amount she didn't put too much or less on I really like luv nails and my technician who did my nail was Sandi and the location is at highstreet and also they are cheaper then most place I've been too the cost of my nails was 50 and with tax of was 52.50 read more

Crappy! My shellac pedi was over priced and it chipped 7 hours later... Best part I went back to have it fixed and it chipped again after an hour. This review is for the High Street location. I went in to get a Shellac french manicure with 2 1/2 weeks grown out shellac with oval shaped nails. Without even asking me the technician went ahead and filed my nails down to a square shape which I do not like as they don't suit me. It's especially frustrating since I've been trying to get my nails in the right oval shape for so long and came so close to it. She over trimmed certain areas of my cuticles causing it to be sensitive and painful especially when I run it under water. She sporadically capped of the free edges after each coat of polish on some of my fingers, not all of them. When she was done painting and curing the shellac polish she continued to file my nails some more wearing down what was left of the random capped off edges. In terms of aesthetics, she didn't do a very good job either. Some of my fingers have a curved smile line while others have a flat and slanted smile line. I asked her 3 times to make the the white tip thinner, however with each finger the white part becomes thicker and more chunky looking. There is not even the slightest symmetry and evenness. Everything came out to be $42 + $6 tip = $48, she did not deserve the tip but I always have a soft spot for service workers. I'm so disappointed with the results of my manicure I don't even want to come back and complain to get it redone and judging by all of the other reviews on here it would not even make a difference if they fixed it. read more

so i started going here about 2 months ago and i naturally have short nails. so i wanted acrylics, they told me i just get them short so i did. i had them done for a month and then i went to get them refilled, they looked nice. a week later one of the fake nails chipped off after only having them for a week so i got it fixed. then the next day 2 more broke off so i just decided to get them off & when you clipped the fake nails off. she ended up clipping my nail to the bare, it hurt a lot. they charged me $5 to take them off. they asked me if i wanted polish on my natural nails so i said sure. that polish stayed on my nails for a month and wouldn't come off! so i had to buy nail polish remover to take it off! read more

Me and my friend decided to get our finger nails done the other day and drove around Abbotsford looking for a place to go that would take us both at the same time. This place did, but it was the same lady. She would work for five minutes on me, then go back to my friend and repeat that process until she was finished. And whenever a new customer would walk in, she'd leave us for like five minutes to help them. At first, she made me stick my hands under a light, not a black light, just a normal bulb. When I tell you she rushed through everything, I can't express it enough. Applying the nail glue, and gel was done so fast, she got it all over my fingers. When I was done, I had to pick off the dried acrylic that was on my fingers. I am pretty sure she even skipped a few steps to save herself some time. I told her in the beginning that I wanted to have a nail design, and she said that because of the time and effort it would take her, it would be $5 PER NAIL. Okay that's fine- if there was time and effort put it. So I said instead, she could just do two nails on each hand, coming to about $65 all together, cause the design I picked was worth it (I thought so). I showed her the two nails I wanted her to copy- and I don't even know what she was thinking cause she just did her own design. She didn't even look at the picture I showed, and additionally, she didn't even put in the time. NOR did she use a detail brush (which I saw sitting in a jar on the desk)! She used the normal fat nail polish brush to do the "art". And was done within 5 minutes. Also I found it hilarious because I specifically picked out the three colours I wanted, but after she applied them, she left for a minute and came back and started to add WHITE to them!?! White wasn't even part of the picture. Also just gonna note throughout the whole time, she kept saying not to look at her, and to look at my friend. I don't know what that was about. Being new to the area I thought I would take me and my girl to get our nails done. OMGGGG way to expensive!!! They were very nice to us and it was recommended to get shellac. I agreed. It was not even a week later my mani was chipping off. ( Suppose to stay on longer) I went back and it repaired only to have to go back a few days later as the mani was chipping off worse and my pedi was chipping off now as well. After going back for the second time after they repaired it yet again I was told "NO MORE!" My friend and I were recently in the new High street location in Abbotsford. We both received Shellac Manicures. A few days after our manicures we both had major chipping. Not even a week after my manicure and most of my nails were chipped off. May I mention, I was away on holiday relaxing, so there is no reason for my shellac to wear faster than usual. Any other time I've had my nails done at other salons, they have lasted about 3-4 weeks. My friend tried calling Luv Nails, to give them a chance to redeem themselves and redo our nails for free or at a discounted rate. Unfortunately they were not willing to do anything for us. I am not one to normally write bad reviews for businesses, but my friend and I, are very unhappy with the customer service of Luv. I was a customer for the Seven Oaks location for almost a year. I would go in about once a month to get gel coats with a fade glitter on the tips. Well near a month after High Street opened all of the good people from 7 Oaks were gone. I went n for a full set, as I had decided to not have my nails done for the past 2 months. My natural nails were well groomed and at a length I liked. The woman who did my nails did a HORRIBLE job. The fade was sloppy and when she filed the sides of my nails, as they do to even it out, she did it so much my nails were crooked. I don't think I'll go back. In my 50's and never had a Mani anything before. I went to the High Street location with a friend and made an appointment for solar tips/french manicure. Killed 2 hours and returned. We were in right away. The staff were certainly friendly but my spidey senses went off when my technician chopped off my long natural nails with toe nail clippers and began applying the tips without filing or ANY cuticle attention. End result was when I turn my hands up you see these jagged nails that stand out against the white tip. When I treated my cuticles at home later they receded and I had a gap at the top of the applied nails within a few hours of having them applied. As the work proceeded customers with out appointments came in and were booked leaving very little time between my appointment and next. A young woman (without an appointment) had tips applied and then had to wait for my technician. Within minutes she started to whine (Couldn't use her phone) and the more she whined the faster my tech worked. I asked for rounded nails and the end result were basically these slant ended, squared, uneven shovels that looked as unnatural as they possibly could. Appointment finished. I was dismissed. Whiney was rushed over too. I left stunned. Not having ever been to a nail salon I was not sure if this was what to expect as an end result. The next day I went to a Shoppers to see if I could get a file for them or something. The girl behind the counter took one look and was stunned. Other customers wandered over also saw the mess (all having and had nails applied before) and were also stunned. I bought a special file and went at them for over two hours to get a result I could live with. I have not contacted the salon about this complaint because they will want to redo the nails or something and I would rather eat worms than ever go near that place again. read more

I went here 10 days ago for a mani/pedi with a friend before a trip to mexico. first off, it was extremely expensive. the woman doing my pedicure never asked if i wanted a design on my big toe, which i had to ask for after she was done. when i sat down for my manicure (not shellac) i looked over at the woman beside me and felt so bad for what the technician was doing to her nails. they were horrible. anyway, after paying 67 freaking dollars for my services, the manicure lasted approximately 14 hours before chipping off on almost every fingernail. the next day we flew out to mexico, my friends entire polish from one of her big toes came completely off, and over the next few days, hers completely chips as did mine. i got for pedicures every 3 months and have been for the last 10 years or so, they always last that entire time, now, 10 days later, i have to go pay money to go back to my favourite salon, the one i should have gone to in the first place to get another pedicure, cause my toes look HORRIBLE, what a terrible terrible job this was. please do NOT waste your money here. read more

One of the worst experiences ever. Came to get shellac done on the location at highstreet. Chipped three days after. When I came in, they told me I had to come back in an hour to fit into their schedule. Few days later, the Cipped nails began to break off... made me wait another hour the THIRD time i came in within the week. Not once did I ever get an apology. They were rude and told me it had been longer and that is why they were chipping. Um, shellac does not chip, they grow out. Made me feel like an idiot. Over top of that, I did not even want the fix, I just wanted them off, and they said they were going to CHARGE ME to get them off.. Never once apologized. Very rude. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. My friend also got her nails done with me at the same time, she got full set of gel nails, and three of hers broke off few days later as well.
