They offered a tour of the facilities which where very clean and organized. We made a preliminary grooming appointment before the boarding and my dogs were treated like royalty. They did a great job grooming them and keeping them comfortable while they were in their care. Their prices for grooming and boarding where very competitive. The service is absolutely deplorable, not to mention the manner in which they didn't mind sending my dogs home. Purely filthy as if they have been in a horse stable for several days! Accountability is not their strong suit and neither is taking care of dogs while they're under their care. Where do I even begin!?!? Let me Istart with the main issue which was they sent one of my dogs home with fecal matter embedded on his behind. They claim he had diarrhea on Saturday, but never told us about it or mentioned any issues with the dog upon pick up. Let it be noted that I have never seen diarrhea, thick and chunky like this ever in my life. It simply slipped their mind to tell my husband that the dogs were under distress and had diarrhea, but please bear in mind that they surely didn't forget to collect the payment from us. What's most disappointing is when this was pointed out to them after calling on four different occasions, and sending one email through their portal in a matter of a day. They were unapologetic and simply didn't care about any of my concerns and tried to say that the dogs were not friendly towards people which I know to be false when we have had them under the care of other doggy daycare's on numerous occasions. Unfortunately, the one the one we go to was booked for the time frame we needed, so which forced us to give this place a try. Once I mentioned this fecal matter, I was told they were also not friendly to the people there and they were scared to clean them. The next thing I was told is that they tried to clean them, but they didn't want to get bit. You would think I brought full grown aggressive dogs there. Please bear in mind that they are 8 and 35 pound cavapoos and we have never heard this from anyone a day in our life. They are sweet dogs that are friendly, and if they don't feel like being bothered, they stay to themselves, but never are aggressive in any manner. The next thing they went on to say was that they did not like the dogs and we're not friendly to them either. Once I mentioned how disgustingly filthy our dogs were, then I was met with oh they played with the dogs all day and that's why they were so filthy, when just moments ago, you advised that they didn't like any of the dogs and were not friendly to them. If you're going to lie, please remember your lies before you tell another one that totally contradicts the last one. Yes, the manager could care less, but these are the owners that I'm speaking about which is even more deplorable! It likely was difficult to remember since the entire time the owner was discussing and asking for insight with someone else while we were on the phone, as if she cannot speak on her own. Needless to say, my dogs will never be back to this facility and I hope to educate other people on this place and that is in their best interest to find somewhere else to take their pets while they're on vacation! I spent an hour and a half cleaning both dogs thoroughly and trying to get the fecal matter off of the one dog and used an entire bottle of shampoo. To sum this up, The Customer Service is poor, care and attention that they put on the animals is poor, the accountability aspect is poor and rather than saying, our dogs are not people friendly dogs, they should look at themselves because they are definitely not in the right business to provide customer service to paying customers and try to assist customers when they have an issue that their establishment caused. Just to give you a visual of what we experienced when we picked up our dogs, I have attached pictures. I'm sure anyone would agree that that it doesn't have to be a baby to be entitled to a clean environment and a clean body. This is an extremely upsetting state to send a pet home in. Not only is Dr. Taketoshi great, the whole staff is wonderful. Melissa is incredible and I will always appreciate her. Them. I had first come to this office after experiencing frustration and hopelessness with my cat. He was older at the time and we couldn't get a diagnosis. Had a diagnosis after the 1st visit to this office. Unfortunately we found my boy had FIV. He was 19 and didnt have much longer after diagnosis. But Melissa did absolutely everything in her power to make him as comfortable as he could be in the mean time. I had an apt. For euthanasia bc he stopped eating and it was time but we never made it. I had to take him somewhere in the middle of the night I adopt a cat shortly after who has a lot of allergies & some health issues. They have been with me every step of the way. DR. Taketoshi is very no BS. So I could see how some ppl would take her wrong but that is something I appreciate about her. Very sad to hear they are closing. I will be forever grateful for them.

MatchDog Rescue has given me and my bf our first love, Hewitt…read more Before attending the event in Atco, we were given a phone call with a proper run down on how the event would work so we were not confused when we got there. They are extremely communicative, and the events are usually held on Saturdays, but the transport that was bringing the dogs in had troubles and the event ultimately had to be moved to Sunday. I had my phone call at about 11:15 and about 1 PM hours later I was informed about the date change. It is not a typical adoption shelter that I have been to in the past. At the event, there is a ticket system, as in, the earlier you get there the earlier you will be called. While you wait you mingle with the volunteers and the dogs. You get a vibe on which dog feels like the best fit for you. However, be mindful that the crew with MatchDog Rescue does their due diligence and wants the best for EVERY SINGLE DOG. We went to the event with a very specific dog in mind. One that was on the medium/large end. However, the staff that reviewed our application and lifestyle, let us know that the dog might not be the best fit for us in terms of training and size of our home. While it was disappointing to hear, we knew at heart we wanted what was best for the dog and us. As mentioned before there is a mingling period while waiting to be called on by staff. During this period you can meet dogs of all ages, sizes, and all types OUTSIDE of dog cages. We had met several different dogs during this period, just to name a few that I can remember, Nevada, Hewitt, Cassidy, Dukie, and Garret. We bonded with several dogs early on, but with our hearts set on a specific dog, we just enjoyed their presence. However, after being informed that the dog we had our hearts set on was not a good fit for us, we knew which of the many dogs we met during the mingling period we wanted to go on a walk with. We asked if Hewitt was a good fit for us, confirmed he was, took him on a little stroll around the lot, and knew that our hearts were set on him. We went through the process of adopting him and each volunteer we worked with, remembered Hewitt and always told us how he was such a great dog and a cute little snippet or fun fact about Hewitt. There was never a doubt in my mind that Hewitt was not loved under their care. On our way out with Hewitt, the last volunteer that we worked with walked us to our car, ensuring that Hewitt was buckled in and safe and had their very loving and sad goodbyes with each other. Hewitt has been with us for about a week. We are a very calm, but active couple and Hewitt matches exactly that for us. When we are relaxing, he is relaxing. When we are running, Hewitt is right there running with us. It is not something that I considered when I was looking into adopting a dog, but I am extremely grateful the staff at MDR let us know before adopting a dog. If ever in the future I am looking for a second dog, there is no doubt in my mind that MDR will be the first adoption agency I look into.
