After browsing the impressive lot out front we decided to go inside where we were greeted by Mike W. who was not overly pushy and very upfront about all the cars on the lot. He took the time to learn what our priorities were and answered all of our questions which were a lot. Lol We test drove the vehicle we were set to buy and notice the AC wasn't blowing as strong as it could have (keep in mind this was a 12 yr old car); Mike offered to take it to his mechanic for a check and recharge at no additional cost and even included that as a guarantee in the bill of sales. We planned to register the car in another state which became more complicated than we anticipated and Mike went above and beyond (2 weeks AFTER we purchased the car) to help us navigate the different registration and tax requirements; even helping us making calls to the Florida and out of state DMV's and getting some required forms notarized for us at no additional cost to us. Again this is a couple weeks after we purchased the car from them. Our overall experience with the Auto Store of Tampa was a great one! We were able to purchase an affordable, good looking, AND RELIABLE vehicle for our son. The body had quit a bit of damage, interior they did and excellent job cleaning. I bought this truck and didn't even make it home. Had to call for a tow truck, the radiator had a crack in it, had to pay for the tow, mechanic and the radiator alone was $400. The cab of truck is also leaking there is water marks all over the headliner, wouldn't crank yesterday had it towed back to the mechanics and the truck needs head gaskets and batteries. I haven't even made my first payment on this truck. Very disappointed! I would never recommend this place.

Matt Jones was awesome to learn from and buy a car from. Starting with the initial road tests driving different cars, answering my technical questions, and pointing out the unique features of a McLaren he was extremely knowledgeable. After I bought the car, a salesperson (Neal) was a huge help with a quick transaction on the paperwork and a excellent explanation of my car before I took delivery. Matt called me a week later and scheduled a time to come to my home and personally explain the features of the car to me! Amazing! My recent service experience at the dealership and at their accessory operation(Aspire) to install a rear wing, clear film and pin striping was a great, seamless experience and the cost was reasonable.

Never buy a McLaren if exotic features like a radio that works every time is important to you…read more This isn't fun to write, because the people I have dealt with are good and diligent in their work. But, at some point you are the product you sell and if it is a bad product no amount of customer service excellence will overcome it. I am on my 2nd McLaren. I bought a used 650 and then a new 570 GT. I will never buy a McLaren again. The electronics are the buggiest piece of tech I have ever come across. I have video documentation of the radio just not working A LOT. Barring a major wreck, I think it is a reasonable expectation for a car sold in 2017 to have a radio that works every time you power it on. McLaren can not provide such a radio. Through 2 cars I have experienced this. I figured with my first one, "Hey this is a new company there will be a learning curve." Well I was right, I just didn't know how steep a curve making sound come out of a speaker would be and as of the 2017 570 GT McLaren still can not accomplish this sonic trick. But, McLaren wouldn't leave not consistently playing music to be the only bug. No you always get more than you expect with McLaren and so to compliment the lack of music......sometimes you get trapped in your McLaren. Not figuratively (like no one will buy it from you because it is a buggy piece of electronic garbage) but literally you are trapped and have to pull this emergency ripcord located over your left shoulder by the seat belt in order to get out of the car. You know who I suspect puts an emergency ripcord in their car? People that know they have a problem with their electronics that control ingress and egress from the car they built. To be fair the car is a marvel in every other way. The engine, handling and feel are a dream. So if you just want it for the track, don't mind the rare ripcord pulling exit and/or you are cool with lugging a portable speaker with you then it might be the car for you. I am weird and just want the radio to work.....EVERY TIME. So it is isn't for me I guess. Now why should McLaren's failure reflect on Dimmitt? Dimmitt never mentioned to me I might be buying a car with a roulette wheel of a media center and the occasional unplanned Escape Room feature that locks you in the car and so my review reflects what I can only assume they had to know was an issue that they did not share. I have shared these issues with Matt Jones the sales rep numerous times via text and while I certainly feel I have his sympathy what I don't have is any permanent solutions. The plus side is I have relatively few miles on it because since the radio works inconsistently I end up not driving the damn thing ;-)

On Sunday, I received a call from a gentleman who asked a few questions about my inquiries. He mentioned that my requests seemed reasonable and that a salesman would reach out on Monday. That Monday morning, Adam called, and I knew right away that this would be a great experience. We completed the entire process via text, just as I had requested. He provided a quote for my current vehicle after I sent a few pictures and videos, offering me exactly what I was looking for as a trade-in. Adam presented a quote that I was very pleased with, and we were able to complete the credit application online. At 7 PM on Tuesday (New Year's Eve), I informed him that I wanted to move forward with the deal, and he had everything ready for us to pick up the car the next day by noon. The car was completely detailed, and the finance guy was prepared--we were in and out in less than 90 minutes! Crazy, huh?! It was seriously the best car-buying experience I've ever had--quick and easy. Adam was professional and attentive throughout the process.
