A private, rarely populated, hidden hot spring tucked away in the mountains! What can get better…read morethan that? In the area there are two other hot springs, Radium Hot Springs and Fairmont Hot Springs... both are naturally heated, but are made into swimming pools... boring! You might as well just jump into a heated pool. Lussier Hot Springs is none of that! Lussier Hot Springs is set aside on a 12 mile gravel road... please don't let that dismay you! Past the private property of cow fields, the roads do get pretty dangerous. We almost turned around because we were nervous that we may slip off the mountain. At a few points you may need to stop and pull to the far right on the turns to let the truckers pass by because some parts of the road won't let two cars pass. Just a tad dangerous... When you finally see the sign for the Hot Springs your almost there, just park and it's a short, less than 5 minute, hike down the walkway. The Lussier Hot Springs are made up of about 3 rock pools with rocky peddle bottoms. The top most pool is the hottest of the bunch, so I'd recommend going in there last. The water from that pool then leads into the other two rock pools. Those two aren't as hot because they are cooled down by the Lussier River that keeps pouring into them. If you're feeling extra brave or maybe a little too hot, the river makes an excellent icy dunk. The Lussier Hot Springs are a serene and secluded hot springs set in the perfect environment. You can warm up and watch the river rush by you or you can scam for wildlife in the forest or the mountains all around. I highly recommend paying this hot springs a visit!

The combo pack includes a mini golf course, a bumper car ride and a petting zoo/park. There didn't seem to be anything that set any of these attractions apart from others in the area that are more moderately priced. The golf course was challenging enough and well shaded, which was essential on the hot day. The animals included alpacas, donkeys, rabbits and mini horses. The bumper cars were interesting as they had a type I'd never seen before that could get decent speed. So while I don't feel ripped off by any stretch, if price is a concern for you, other places may better suit your budget.

Even though this wall is small when compared to whole gyms, it has a wide enough range of routes to keep the majority of climbers busy for a long time. New routes get put up often enough, and there are always creative ways to challenge yourself. I would drive down from my home after work on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and climb from opening to close all winter and never be bored. In the summer time our visits were a little less frequent since we'd just hit the outdoor crags after work. I wish a gym like this existed in Toronto - small yet always interesting, cheap, and run by someone as awesome as Herb. Prices are super low - last time I was by it was $5 to climb for the evening including rentals or $80 for the year. Prices like this are unheard of anywhere else. Beginners get free lessons and there are plenty of helpful, well-skilled climbers around to assist with anything you may need help with. If you're around Invermere any weekend stop by and pull on some plastic in a supportive and helpful environment.

I've been out this way my whole life and it wasn't until this weekend that my family and I came out for an afternoon of bowling. It's 5-pin here and there's 6 lanes. There's also a pool table and ping pong. I would suggest making a reservation on a long weekend as they were fully booked when I arrived and wanted to add a couple more people. They book you a lane for an hour which is enough time to get in 2 games and they leave a 30 minute window between bookings so you're not feeling rushed to get out for the next group. They have the usual bowling alley food like hot dogs and beer, but you're not allowed to bring it to your lane. This seems like an antiquated rule. I remember this being a thing when I was a kid but in recent years most alleys I've been to allow food in your area, just not on the hardwood; for obvious reasons. This stopped me from enjoying a beer during my visit as I wanted to sit with my family and chat while I watched them bowl, not stand on the other side of the glass partition all alone.

The information on nature, wildlife, and the company was superb. We had several levels of physical ability in our group but the snowshoeing experience was still absolutely awesome for everyone. She has small trails that took us into some rough terrain with tricks to challenge us while still ensuring everyone enjoyed themselves. The one area I was disappointed in was the effort made by management to live up to their aboriginal initiatives program though. They advertised a program that supported learning about Bannock and making it....our instructor had no training in this field and as a foreigner pronounced things wrong and made the recipe taste more like cinnamon buns. She tried, there is no doubt, but this would be an opportunity to have an elder join in and share some personal stories and anecdotal comments or experiences to really bring Canadian History alive .... as the brochure promised. If elders are not always available at least training sessions for the staff should be mandatory.
