But hey, review anything and everything, right?? I visited the island with Land & Sea Tours (who I highly recommend). It was an odd day weather wise so we had really smooth water on the far side of the island, which allowed us to very easily view the sea lions, blue-footed boobies, volcanic rock formations, humpbacks, and more. We stopped at the "main" beach which has a covered area with picnic tables. There is a restroom but it's fairly nasty - I recommend the "big baño" that is the ocean instead. You can snorkel here as well as a few other locations around the island - ask your guide or boat captain. The island and waters around it are an ecological preserve so be mindful to stay on paths, not leave trash, use reef-safe sunscreen, etc!

Now I get it, though. Thanks, Mom! Isla Coronado is a place so muy bonita, that many people would love to keep it a secret. They don't want to share. When you see the crystal clear turquoise water, white sandy beach, and the unique wildlife on and around this beautiful island, you'll understand why. This uninhabited volcanic island is a natural, pristine paradise. Coronado is one of five islands in the Loreto Bay Marine Park which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Yes, thankfully the area is an international preservation site. It is protected so that its exceptional natural beauty can be shared with future generations. Happiness shared really is doubled. That being said, if you're in Loreto, I highly recommend taking a tour out to Coronado Island. I'll review my tour separately but will say that it was excellent. Depending on the season, you will probably see blue and/or gray whales, dolphins, blue-footed boobies, pelicans, and sea lions, all en route to Coronado's beautiful white sandy beach. If you have a chance to snorkel here, definitely do so. The water was a bit cold in February but the icy plunge was worth it to see things like chocolate starfish, stingrays, and some of the most beautiful and unique marine life on the planet. There. I've learned to share. And, this beautiful island paradise is way better than a chocolate bunny! You're welcome.

Liz, our hostess outdid herself with making us comfortable and ensuring we had everything we needed to make our stay memorable. She gave us a tour of Loreto so we could get a feel of where things were. Showing us the best restaurants and the most awesome homemade ice cream parlor. Liz arranged for a boat tour for us and let us know all the local happenings around the area. The Casita was equipped with everything you could imagine in a kitchen. I could have baked cookies if I was thus inclined, and the staff came in and cleaned every day. It was lovely having our morning coffee outside in the courtyard and with a heated pool you could swim at any time of the day. With a well stocked library and movies if you just wanted to stay at the casitas and relax you need not look anywhere else. Close by the town square and the marina, everything was within walking distance. We have already booked a 2 week stay next year we were so impressed with the service and room. Santos also stopped twice on the ride to the mission to show us some wonderful scenery. The lunch at the Mission was terrible. All our food came out cold. Recommend that Wild Loreto try a different restaurant by the mission for lunch. The sunset boat tour was very nice. The catamaran is very small & seating is not the most comfortable but you get fantastic views of the mountains & shoreline. Food was very minimal but fine - chips, salsa, guac, cheese,fruit, & burritos. Drinks were beer, tequila, & rum. No wine - I was very disappointed with the no wine.

The company picked us up right in Nopoló and drove us to the marina, which made everything super convenient. The tour itself was beautiful--snorkeling was awesome, we got plenty of snacks and drinks (including alcohol), and lunch was simple but tasty with sandwiches provided. My only complaint is that they didn't have enough snorkeling gear for our group of 6. Thankfully, two of our people chose not to snorkel, otherwise it would have been a bigger issue. A little more preparation on that end would have made the experience perfect. That said, Carlos, Humberto, and our driver (sorry I forgot his name!) were fantastic--super kind, knowledgeable, and made the trip fun and educational. I would definitely book another tour with Wild Loreto. Just bring your own snorkel gear if you want to be 100% sure you're set!

We saw colorful nudibranchs, hundreds of reef fish, playful sea lions, and a moray eel! Our guide Orlando made us feel safe and comfortable diving, and our boat captain showed us pods of dolphins and leaping rays on our journey to the islands. We can't wait to come back again and are already looking forward to the next time!

There were no dive plans, no dive briefing, and I was later informed that the (very young-looking) person that I was told was my DM was 14 years old. Standing on the coral and providing single use plastic cups is not my idea of a good dive boat. They did make utterly fantastic guacamole, but that's not a reason to pick a dive shop.

Eva showed me around the grounds and pointed out where we would find everything we needed. For example; they provide drinking water to refill your water pitcher and ice trays. She also shared a local map with me. On it she had highlighted the banks, grocery stores and recommend restaurants. While all this was happening, my boyfriend was talking with one of the owners Stephan. Turns out they grew up in the same neighborhood in Petaluma...small world in deed! Our room was clean, comfortable and all the amenities (air conditioning) we needed for an incredibly relaxing stay. There was a full kitchen with everything I needed to prepare coffee and breakfast in the mornings which we enjoyed on our own little porch with a view of the pool. Our room got checked daily, bed made and garbage taken out with full service half way through our stay. Daily full service can be requested as desired. The hotel has free WiFi, a book sharing area, 2 pools (1 heated, the other not), 2 bbq areas with outdoor eating areas, and pool are towels provided. The rooms also have TV with DVD players and CDs to check out from the office. We met great people here, many of them were repeat customers and we felt like we had joined an ongoing party. We've already made plans to return!
