    M & D CONSTRUCTION & REMODELING

Had M&D do some remodel of our kitchen. Half way through they stop coming and could not reach Matt…read moreon the phone. Office took message and told me he would call back and never did. I finally took a lawn chair and set up right ouside their business door and forced them to talk to me. Long story short an 8 day project took over 8 weeks and it still not done. Trim work is still missing. Dont walk....run away from this company

Consumers Beware!! We have had a remodel from them that has been a nightmare. They were going to do…read moresome remodeling on our home while we were gone so it would be done by the time we got back. Instead, when we got back nothing had been done except for the demo work. It went from bad to worse. They widened a closet in the bathroom so we could put a side by side washer and dryer. Well, it wasn't wide enough. You couldn't slide out the bottom drawers to the washer and dryer and cant pull out the dispenser for the washer out all the way so it is hard ti even put detergents in the the washer. We wanted our living-room and dining-room space to an open area. So they tore down the wall between the two. It looked great. However, in doing so they had to move air ducts around which were not properly reinstalled. Turning our house into a vacuum bag for the dust from the attack. Then to add insult to injuries when we got our bill they charged us $2400 for the removal of the wall, but the turned around and charged $1200 for painting the dining room wall. The wall had been torn down and there is a picture window on the wall facing the dining-room. They also re grouted a shower wall in one of the bathrooms which had to be redone a month after they had finished it...and that didn't last either. Plus we had to get a plumber out here to unclog the drain in the bathroom, because their tile person dropped a full bag of grout on the floor so he cleaned it up by poring the grout on the floor down bathroom sink which hardened like a rock. One thing they did do that came out beautiful was the kitchen remodel. However, the granite counter top was not seamed right and there was a 1/4 in gap between the two counter-top pieces which was beginning to pull apart. So the owner came out to redo it himself. He tried smoothing it out by sanding down the two pieces and buffing them out. Instead, all that did was leave scratches on the surface and a dull finish. However, M & D tried to make it right by getting a professional granite and stone company out to redo it. The company said it was improperly installed to begin with so they pulled the counter-top off placed it back on properly and tried buffing it out as best as they could. They said there wasn't much they could do because it was too damaged. Never heard from M & D Construction again. Even after several attempts on the phone and going by their business. Unfortunately a month later, the glass China cabinet they installed in the kitchen feel off the wall onto my wife. Fortunately, she wasn't hurt to bad just cuts across her face caused by all the glassware falling out of the cabinet. When they installed the cabinet it was not secured to studs just to the sheet rock. By all the glassware falling out and the cabinet falling on the counter-top. The floor had deep scratches and scraps all over it and the counter-top had chips and cracks in it. We filed with BBB. However, all they had agreed to do was to pay for some of the dishes, re-stain and touch-up the floor and to properly reinstall the cabinet back onto the wall.Still have yet to repair or replace the counter top. BBB said they will have to set up an arbitration to try any settlement with the company.
