Went today with a friend that has had a pedicure here and was very happy so I was looking forward to it.. We have gone to several other shops but the ones we like are not open on Mondays so she was happy to find Luxy. I am not a big pedi person, as I have had people cut me and that is not fun.. but since she had 2 good pedis here I decided to go with her today.. Big disappointment.. it was the fastest pedi and the most uncomfortable one I have had in a long time.. When they used the clippers it was painful and one of my nails is very short.. I can't believe the service I recited today because the first time I came in the experience was phenomenal. I literally could not be more upset at the woman who did my toenails today. She got up 5 times during and was on the phone 3 times. She sprayed my feet with cold water for a polish change but don't wash her hands after touching countless items while she got up so check the door, talk to other customers and employees. This woman was worried about everything besides not getting nail polish on my skin. I could have did these messy things myself the big toes not even the same lenth. I felt like she wanted me to leave. The first guy I got here did excellent. From now on I will ask for anyone else to do my nails if i return here. - - - - - - - I returned again at the managers request and paid full price minus a student discount (so this will be a extra honest review). They put me in the care of Loyd who told me that he has only been practicing his craft for a month. This may be why my toes are still not cut even (see white toe photo) . I even brought a friend; who for some reason did receive a discount but was shocked that she was asked to tip cash as a result (& she was from out of state so she didn't know to bring cash or why she couldn't tip from her card). It's highly possible they can't tell black people apart even though I made it clear that I was the one who left the review, she is 6 shades lighter than me, and she did not walk in with the pictured salmon colored nails. I got the basic pedicure and was told I could not have wine (so just giving you guys a heads up that you must spend $37 to be treated to wine; a basic pedicure is $27 and does not include complimentary wine) . I was given water and I was asked to upgrade my service & im glad I didn't because my nails still look misshaped and after spending $30 with tip I will still be wearing closed toed shoes outside the house. the good news is this time I asked nicely to have the paint removed from my skin and Lyod listened and obliged cheerfully. He understood paint does not belong on skin but he said himself he may need glasses to ensure he paints the whole nail after I pointed out a couple places he didn't apply paint to my nail. Lyod also does a good scrub & strong leg massage! Customer service was a lot better this time from the guy lyod that misshaped my nails . The manager did not check on us but did allow a student discount of $2 for my basic pedicure after I asked and presented ID (bring your ID if you go and lower your expectation for evenly cut/shaped nails or experienced workers :). I'm pretty sure the manager is the woman who messed up my nails the first time, got up several times, and sprayed my feet with cold water & maybe that's why she left me alone & only gave my friend a discount despite her asking me to return. God bless the future of this business; I do hope they improve in shaping and cutting toes. read more

I came to Luxy for the first time (based on a recommendation) for my wedding day nails. Charlie did my dip manicure and did a fantastic job. I didn't want dip because it's usually thick and often look fake but he assured me that he'd be able to get them thin, which they are! They are just perfect. He took his time to ensure each nail was even with the next and added tips where needed. I've been to A LOT of nail salons in both Florida and California but these nails are absolutely the best I've ever had. They are simply amazing. I also had a pedicure and did not catch the guy's name who did them, but also a great experience. The pedicure was relaxing and look great, as well. Overall, the place is so clean and nice. I have never gotten fungus from a nail place ever in the 17 years I've been getting my nails done. I had to get them filled in after a week because two nails popped off within 4 days of having them on...they filled them in and two weeks later another nail popped off and I had fungus on it. I went in and ask them to remove my nails, which they did. Only to find another nail on the opposite hand had fungus as well. When I pointed it out to the nail tech...she laughed. I did not find it funny at all. Also, they used the same nail files on my nails without the fungus as the ones with the fungus. Extremely disappointed and will not be back. read more

I went to get an acrylic fill last week, because my mom said the place is nice and he has heard good things about it. I just moved to Viera so I am looking for a salon to get acrylic fills for a great (and reasonable) price, with a good result. When I walked in the place was beautiful! However, it went downhill from there. When I walked in the employees seemed nice. When I sat down I lost a few nails a informed the lady that was doing my nails that I wanted to get the 4 nails that fell off replaced. When she started smoothing out my nails with the drill, she got to my pointer finger with my nail still on. She then accidentally lost control of the drill, and she broke that nail. I thought it was fine because everyone makes mistakes, so I wasn't really bothered by it. She apologized and I accepted her apology, but then she started blaming me for that nail coming off because the nail was "too long" even though it has been 2 1/2 weeks since the last time I got a fill. When clearly it was her fault because she lost control of the drill, and it also made my skin bleed a little. A few minutes later I asked how much it costs to have 1 nail replaced. She said $5 which I thought that's expensive compared to other places I've been to. I personally thought that was a ridiculous price to replace only one nail. As she continued she started finishing up very quickly, and she was rushing. When she asked me what color I wanted I chose a sparkly pink color. When she started to put the color on my nail I thought it looked fine at first. But a few hours after the appointment I realized that she didn't put nail polish on the tips of my nail. I am so bothered by it because it looks weird, and the tips are rough because she didn't put nail polish there. Not to mention she cut my nails way too short. Some of my nails look crooked because of the horrible job she did cutting them. Finally, the worst part was when I went to the register to pay and I saw the price. First of all, the employee CHARGED ME for the extra nail SHE BROKE when she was doing my nails at the beginning. So she charged me to fix 5 nails when I came in with needing only 4 nails put on. But because of her mistake, she charged me for 5 nails. I wasn't bothered by her mistake because we all make mistakes. But for her to charge me for something that was her fault is just ridiculous. So to get 5 nails replaced it costed $25!!!!! Which is absolutely ridiculous. And I ended up paying a total of $70 for these nails that she rushed to do, and she didn't even paint them entirely. I was just not in the mood that day to argue so I just payed the money and tipped her. These are the most expensive I've ever payed for a acrylic fill, and to get my nails replaced. I usually pay around $25- $45 at other places which is reasonable and they take their time and the result is always good. Even though these are the most expensive I've ever payed for a fill they are my least favorite set I've ever gotten. AND ESPECIALLY FOR THE PRICE OF THESE?! NO WAY! I'm just warning you because my mom paid for these and I'm always so grateful and thankful. But I just feel that they ripped me and her off. My family and I work hard and to pay $70 for a poor result is just ridiculous. I'm just warning you before you come here because I personally think that the job she did wasn't good. Again this is just my opinion of that employee. The other workers could have a different performance, but this is just my review for the employee that they gave have to do my nails. Even though the place is supposed to be a luxury spa, my experience and result was no where near luxury. I think you would get your money's worth somewhere else and not here. Even though these were the most expensive I've paid for a acrylic fill, this is the least favorite set I've gotten. When I showed my friends they too were not a fan of the result of my nails. After I told them my experience and the price they 100% agree with me. A day after I got my nails done I showed my friend that gets her nails done all the time like me. She too was not satisfied with the result of my nails like me. When I told my friend I went to Luxy her eyes immediately lit up. She too just got her nails done a few days ago, and she got an acrylic fill like me. She showed me her short black acrylic nails with 3 NAILS MISSING! She went there and had them put on tips on all nails and then the acrylic. 2 days after she got her nails put on she told me they randomly fell off. Her and I are both so livid of the poor job they did doing our nails. And we both agreed this place is far too expensive for the results we got. read more
