I love this place! I'm always a little leery with new nail places because you never know what you're going to walk into. LV Nails is brand new!! Beautiful location, experience workers, great amenities and comparable prices. They take appointments and have enough space (and workers) to accommodate an influx of people! I personally love Quynh, she's done my dip nails a few times now, she's quick but precise, gives great input on colors and suggested services. And my nails always Wloo top notchToday I got a Milk and Honey pedicure (worth the extra $10) and I had the dip done in my nails. Pedicure was clean, quick but not rushed and concise. They have a HUGE color selection (3 racks of regular polish, 3 spin things of dip and a bunch of shellac as well) they even have matching sets of regular polish for your toes and shellac/dip for your finger. After wearing my nails long for months without having to trim them, I managed to rip two nails within a few days of each other. I wanted to keep wearing my nails long since they were still strong, so I figured I'd try a dip manicure thinking the acrylic would support my nails despite the tear. I've been told my nails are naturally pretty thick, which would explain why in the past I thought regular acrylic sets looked so clunky on my hands. I came to my appointment hoping a better quality salon and several years of nail technology would lean in my favor for a better experience... in reality? Meh. I've now had three dip manis from three different nail techs at LV and none of them seemed worth the price and hassle. After an hour and roughly $70, I walked away each time feeling less than pampered as if they didn't really care what my nails looked like at all - particularly the last set where there were visible bubbles and bumps. I literally had to file my own nails when I got home because there were pointy globs of acrylic and the tips of my nails were rough and snagging. It doesn't make a difference to try to advocate for what you're looking for as far as shape, length, or general concerns. During the second visit, I once again alerted the tech about my broken nails and she was so rough on my hands that she broke one of the nails all the way off and left it completely jagged under the fake tip. I got stuck in this cycle because I had some photo-heavy events and wanted to try to have presentable nails. I was planning to go one last time just so they could remove this set and clean up my natural nails so I can do them myself, but I think I'd rather try somewhere else. Ultimately, this is why I really don't bother with nail shops and will be getting my own kit for the rare occasion I need a dip mani over regular polish. read more

i went in with my daughter the day before Mother's Day. She has been here before and I was in town and she wanted me to join her. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! The nail tech was extremely rude and did an awful job on my nails. she did nothing at all besides a dip manicure....no hand lotion... no filing, no soaking, no work in cuticles, not even hand lotion. my nails were dipped and she was gone. I was left with my fingers being basically glued to my nails, dead skin on my fingers and fingernails that looked 1/2 done. My hands were so dry I felt like they would crack. My arm is injured and can only turn certain ways and I'm trying g to explain this but she is snapping at me and pays no attention and continues to twist my arm. Let me add that I was kind and polite throughout the entire process and tipped well when I left. I have never experienced anything like this. Besides the fact that my nails looked awful, my Mother's Day experience with my daughter was ruined. As we left they handed the moms ahead of us a flower and said Happy Mother's Day.....I paid and nothing was said to me, no flower, we just left feeling extremely awkward. read more

Consumer Beware I went to LV Nails in February 2024 for a nail dip. Andy did a good job. Went back in March for a nail dip and Wendy was who worked on my nails. She was rough, frequently nicked my skin while using the dremmel, and the nails looked shoddy when she was done. Within 1 1/2 weeks the dip on my left thumbnail was lifting. By 3 weeks it was so loose I had to return earlier than expected in April. When they removed the dip, I had a horrible fungus. The only two times I ever had anything other than regular nail polish on my nails was from these two visits. In hindsight, I shouldn't be surprised I got a fungus. At no time during any of my visits did I see them get clean tools between customers, they just moved from one to the next and took their tools with them. What's worse, after working on my nail with the fungus, they did the very same thing... on to the next customer to use a contaminated clippers and file. The owner's solution was to dip nine nails that night, put a fungal treatment on the infected nail for two weeks, and then return so they could dip the bad nail! No thank you!! Think twice before going to this establishment! read more

Forget walking in, and when I make an appointment I wait just as long as a walk in would. They used to care when they first opened and now they are so busy they just want to push us through like an assembly line. Super dissapointed in service. Got a pedicure and manicure. I don't mind waiting, in fact I would rather wait then have someone doing a pedicure and manicure on me at the same time. While trying to balance the light box for my gel manicure on my lap and getting my toes done it was a less than relaxing time. My manicure (which I never splurge on) literally lasted a day. I sent pictures and asked for a redo, I was only offered to come back in immediately that day to get them redone. Which I had a family event and couldn't. I never heard anything back after showing them how bad they looked the second day. I have never had a gel manicure done where they do not stay on my nails for more than 24 hours. Last night i found myself desperate to get my nails done and looking at my calendar and not knowing when. I seen my nail salon closed at 7 and i get off at 6. I work right off Highway 100 so it took 10 mins to pop over which is so Convenient. There wasn't any other clients there so i ask do you think i could do anything to these nails tonight. The of course were delighted. I'm the person who won't show up 20 mins before closing time. So you can imagine my anxiety even asking. They calmed me down and helped me find a color and asked me to wash my hands before. Which is really unheard of and necessary with sanitation for nails so i was impressed! The stations and the building are clean which is a plus for me! I love the people here. I will return time and time again because me dip last from here. I've been to LV several times and always liked how cleanly they were. It's a little higher priced than other places but definitely worth it. I never had a bad experience until I went in there this past week with my boyfriend for pedicures and manicures for our anniversary. I walked in and told the man we were here for two pedicures and manicures. It was a little busy for a Thursday morning so I didn't mind waiting. The man snapped at me and said "not right now." I told him we were in no hurry and if he had an estimated wait time. He argued with me over what we both wanted trying to say my boyfriend didn't need anything and he could make room for just me. I said we both wanted manicure and pedicures. I got sick of arguing with him on what we needed so I just told him we'd come back another time and to have a nice day. These people are verbally and physically abusive. Do not use this salon!! I came into LV Nails as a party of 6 for manicures and pedicures for a wedding. My daughter and I were there with my son's fiancé, her sisters, and mother. We received a cordial greeting, were asked what we wanted, and proceeded to pick out colors. I have Brachydactyly type D (hammer thumbs). When the manicurist looked at my hands, she started speaking in a different language to another manicurist working on another part of the party. I told her if she could do something to make them look better, to go for it. On my thumbnails only, she proceeded to cut my regular nail down and put tips on them. She left the them considerably longer than fingernails without the tips. I asked my daughter (who has the same type of thumb nails) if she thought the thumbnails were too long and she said yes. This upset both of the manicurists. The man turned to my daughter and told her multiple times that the nail was not too long. The woman working on my nails told me they were my nails not my daughter's and she they were not too long. Then the abusive behaviors from this woman started. She gripped my fingers very tight causing pain, she was quite careless with the electric nail drill and hit my skin on several fingers until they were raw(they still ate two days later). Then she told me I needed to relax more. All the while she was talking angrily with her coworker. My manicurist went to the back and never came back into the room. I then had a pedicure done by the male coworker. He did a very sloppy job and asked what I thought. I said it was fine because I didn't want anymore conflict. As I sat waiting for my daughter, the store manager came up, pulled the tie separators off of my feet and told me to put my sandals on. I didn't want to put my sandals on because I didn't think the nails were dry, but her started pushing them on. In the process I bumped one of my nails and ruined it. He pointed a finger at me and said it was my fault and did not offer to fix it. I went over and grabbed the nail polish and covers the spot. It doesn't look very good. We went to pay the bill and the manager looked at our hands and feet, and came up with $200. He gave no explanation for the cost and did not give a receipt. Later I found out that he verbally assaulted the young woman that made the appointment cussed at her and accused her of not answering her phone. She showed him she had received no phone calls. She asked him what number he called, and it was not her number. He did not apologize or admit he was wrong. These people were unreasonable and rude. read more

I had to wait 25 min past my appointment time. I was getting a fill and the tech and I noticed that I had mold on my nails from my previous acrylic lifting and moisture trapping between my natural and acrylic nail. I asked if I should remove the acrylic nail fully to treat my nails properly in which the tech insisted that I continue to get a fill instead. After doing a simple google search once I left the salon, that's the opposite of how to treat the issue. I'm not sure why the tech would tell me that other than the fact that she just wanted my money. The man also charged me $48 for a gel fill which is ridiculous... I made an appointment and when I got there promptly at 10am I was told they didn't have time until 1pm. I had been here during the winter and was happy with the dip and the nail tech was very nice. I tried one other time before today and the owner was super snobby. The owner does not give nail tech breaks and he walks around making sure you know he owns the place. I've been here several times before, but it has been a year. My daughter and I went yesterday, and we were greeted by the nice man at the front desk. However, that's where the friendliness stopped. My pedicure took 20 minutes and was very rushed. My technician didn't even great me let alone try to be friendly. My daughters technician got upset at her several times for not sitting still enough (she's 7) and she did GREAT! She was almost in tears! I hate the nail salons in Cedar Rapids. I tried this one right when they opened. I was treated to a nice quiet atmosphere, and the place is very clean. They use clean nail filers, clippers, and cutters with every person. I love Quynh! She's modern and gives you a quick but precise manicure. This place is so pretty and nice, everyone is so friendly and they actually listen to what you say. I won't go anywhere else!
