We're visiting family in Manchester and found LX Hotel. Every review I read was nothing but positive. The hotel is tucked away off of the highway so it feels less like a truck-stop motel and more like a local in-town hotel. The rates were slightly higher than the other motels off of the highway exit, but for the quietness, cleanliness, and enjoyment of your stay, I highly recommend going the extra mile and coming here. Alex and the lady who are at the front desk are super kind and accommodating. They cook to order breakfast that you order the night before (not sure if this changes during Bonnaroo). There's free tap beer and a fridge/freezer of beverages and ice cream. The room has been freshly updated. It was clean, the shower water is hot and pressure is great. Plenty of tv channels. But the beds and pillows - so comfortable! I have nothing negative to stay about my stay here. When I'm back in Manchester I'll stay here again. read more

Alex the owner is the man. Friendly but also not afraid to tell the riff raff to stay some place else. The rooms are clean with comfy beds. The water pressure is out of this world strong. There is a happy hour from 5-7pm where he will pour you 2 free beers from his taps. 6 kinds were available including Yuengling. The breakfast area is cool with lots of free options. Parking is free and the location is perfect for a Bonnaroo attendee needing one last real shower, bed, or bathroom before camping on the Farm. Y'all.... I was hesitant to stay here. But this is one of the best hotel stays I have had in YEARS! It is family owned, which is way better than some big corporation. This place is a hidden gem, worth a little extra drive off the interstate. Old motel style with a modern upgrade, pristinely clean and our room was adorable and so comfortable. Be sure to order breakfast the night before and you can only eat in the dining room, no take out allowed. The breakfast was yummy. Starbucks coffee served. We stayed for one night as part of our post-vaccination cross-country road trip. The room was fine -- when we came to enjoy our breakfast that we'd ordered the night before and came with the room we paid for, however... the owner berated us at breakfast because my friend did not want to dine indoors over COVID concerns. Owner demanded we sit down; friend felt threatened and fled the lobby without receiving the food we ordered. Owner continued to insult me in front of other customers (who joined in with him and called me a trouble-making "liberal"!) to try and provoke me into an argument. We've been driving across the country, and this is the only place where anyone has had an issue with our precautions. His behavior over a simple request was unacceptable, uncalled-for, and ruined an otherwise five-star stay. No amount of free beer is worth this abuse. (I was going to edit my original review after the owner called us to try and apologize, only to discover that this review was "somehow" flagged and removed before because it didn't "depict an experience". If I need to produce the pictures of the room we took because my friend was so terrified the owner might try to charge extra and accuse us of trashing the room, or an illustration of the woman the owner tried to make us sit next to -- who was wearing a "Trump 45" shirt and punctuated the owner's rantings with "Thank you, Jesus!" -- I can do so upon request.) read more

We arrived tired after 8 hours driving, and they welcomed us with free beer and snacks; They took our breakfast order the night before and made it fresh when we got to the lobby, it was delicious, free and freshly made. They sent us a text when we got to our room to ask if everything was good and if we needed anything else. Very clean room, bedsheets and towels. I have to admit, I was a little reluctant to stay at this hotel due to my lack of knowledge of the LX brand. However, I was delightfully surprised, specifically due to the cleanliness of the rooms and the modern conveniences such as plenty of USB plugs because they had all been recently remodeled as well as the lobby. I am also impressed how friendly and helpful the staff was. I had stayed at a few other hotels in a nearby town in the past and I had found them not only overpriced but I couldn't get a good nights sleep due to the trains going by several times a night. I come to this area about once a month on business trips and I intend to come back every time. I highly recommend this place. read more

This was a random find. We travel through between Nashville and Chattanooga pretty regularly. On this trip hotel prices were $170+ for the normal chains no matter where we looked. My wife found this gem and thought we should take a shot based on the reviews and it was priced well below the average. It definitely worked out for us. You are greeted by a sweet family who insist on a night cap while checking in (wine, beer on tap and also mixed drinks) They tell you about the fresh made to order breakfast for each person staying, all you do is put your order in off the pretty extensive menu. Rooms are freshly renovated and clean. They are doing some landscaping and painting in the lobby. Businesses that do it the right way like this need to be supported. They are definitely in the business of being customer centric and going above and beyond. Give it a shot, you won't be disappointed. read more

I recently stayed here with my family on a long road trip from Florida to Chicago. Previously we stayed at an expensive hotel and the rooms weren't clean. At the other hotel, the Covid procedures lacked and we felt concerned. I chose this hotel after researching Trip Advisor, booking.com, and Yelp and saw that cleanliness was a top mark. I also liked that my family could easily load and unload without using elevators or sharing space with unmasked patrons. The hotel was clean, quiet , and had some great perks including draft beer , snacks, and breakfast . Our room was a two room suite which was perfect for larger families. The towels were lush and the bath products were Matrix. Yes, it's more expensive than the chain motels but you are ensured a clean room and a safe place for your family. The free drinks, breakfast, and snacks also bring down the price. My only suggestion would be to add a door between the rooms so when young children go to sleep, the noise from the other room is muffled. I felt like the hotel manager went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay . I think this counts in the world. Support hotels like this! read more

Hospitality: 4 stars. The family is welcoming and friendly, but the man made a comment at breakfast "you better eat it all." That is kind of odd and can make someone feel pressured and uncomfortable. The complimentary drinks in lobby are nice. Room: 2 stars. A lot of "Days Inn" branding, the tv remote kept disconnecting from the tv, the couch looked old and had brown stains, there was no door seperate for the bathroom from the rest of the room, even a sliding door (I've never ever seen this before) the bathroom was pitiful and the tile floor was cracking, walls were cracking, major gaps and unevenness in the tile near the toilet. Bed was comfortable. Room felt small. Cleanliness: 4 stars. Price: 2 stars. On this trip we stayed at Hilton's and Holiday Inns and all were much nicer and the same price or LESS than this place. For the price we paid, I expected a lot more. Other: They said because of COVID, you have to eat in the lobby and you can't get up. We didn't have to do this at the other hotels. Having to text with them for food wasn't desirable. The outside is under renovation, they said it's put on hold due to COVID, but I believe contractors and services are working again so I don't quite understand that. Overall, for a one night stay when there's nothing else, it's a decent, clean place to crash. But I wouldn't stay here again personally. read more

We had a group of 7 of us get a room last minute here coming in from out of town. We stayed in an affordable suite and we're blown away by the hospitality! The family who runs this hotel is awesome. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were clean and they even offered us complimentary beers in the lobby. Also, they took our breakfast order and waited on us in the morning! I stayed at LX hotel and I must say I was impressed and happy with my stay. I usually always stay at a Hilton or Marriott property but decided to try this one out as reviews were excellent and price looked reasonable. I am glad I did. From check in experience throughout my stay Alex made sure everything was good and I was comfortable. The welcome bag was a good array of snacks and water. The exterior is being remodeled so there is some construction work which was fully disclosed during the booking process so I expected it. However once you go inside the rooms I was truly impressed as they are all brand new and all the bath and room products they use are all upper tier top quality. All different type of pillows and great comfy beds. Thank you Alex and team for a great stay and I will be staying here again for sure when I am passing though next time. A pleasant surprise in small town Tennessee. Had to come to a town close by for a family memorial service and needed a place to stay. We chose LX based on reviews only. Alex and his wife who own/manage LX were incredibly kind. The rooms are remodeled and very clean. Bed was comfortable. As they said don't let the outside scare you away, it's true because they are remodeling the outside. This hotel is excellent. I love its very modern sleek feel. Its very homey but a good get away also.. Details such as barn sliding doors is the perfect touch. The man running the place is great. He is very hospitable and so helpful. He is taking precautions because of the Covid and goes out of his way to make everyone breakfast. Let me tell you, the food is delicious too btw. I was shocked how good it is. The waffles are to die for, my only issue was I could have ate a bunch more because it was so good. I'll start by saying this is by far the best customer service I have ever received in my life. Our car broke down while all the shops were closed and we chose this place as it had great reviews and was very reasonably priced. We were welcomed in like family and Alex dropped us off at a restaurant down the road. After dealing with car breaking down, tow-trucks, and getting a hotel on short notice, this is just what we needed. Rooms were a great sleep and everything looked great as well as they had just been renovated. They are going through some exterior renovations but once you are in your room you won't realize that at all. Used to be a Days Inn, the place is ripped up due to their rebranding (including, somehow, a huge hole in the parking lot?). Half the markings are Days Inn and the other half is their new branding. We had a reservation for Days Inn through Expedia and the owner had a really hard time finding it. In the lobby they have a full breakfast plus the usual "shop" with drinks and snacks, but all of these are "complimentary", including free beers on tap. The interior is alright,there are little details here and there that are off (sliding barn-style doors over bathrooms fall off the tracks easily, holes in the curtains, etc.) but otherwise seems clean. We got a suite which seems to mean they knocked a hole between two preexisting rooms and called it good. There's two bathrooms, a living room area and a bedroom with two queen beds. read more

It is a roadside motel that has been under construction for a long time. They have a barn-door style door on the bathroom, so essentially no privacy. For the price I paid, was expecting a lot more. I stayed there one night on a business trip and even though they are still working hard on getting the place re branded and updated with more modern features, the rooms and the lobby were really nice and the complimentary gift bag you get when checking in makes you feel like a VIP club member. The folks running it are very friendly and are willing to go out of their way to help you relax and enjoy your stay with them. The beds are comfortable,the shower was hot and the breakfast was fresh and delicious.
