When they arrived and I mentioned that we had tried to turn the water valve off and it was stuck and to watch the plumber take their brute strength and then break it? They say they have dealt with the problem of sticky valves and they break due to age. Would not have been a problem if I had seen some attention paid to loosening the valve BEFORE BREAKING IT? I'm just a woman - who has dealt with issues like this on a business and personal level and it just seems to be common sense NOT TO BREAK THE VALVE and attempt to loosen the problem. BUT, IT DOES INCREASE BUSINESS FOR THE PLUMBER WHEN DEALING WITH PROBLEMS IN THIS MANNER. P.S. After breaking the valve to shut off the water, the original repair was successful without the water being shut off in less than 1 minute. I watched.

At 4pm, I called them back, and asked if they were going to make it, explaining that I couldn't find the shutoff. She said they were short handed, but she would see if one of them would come. sure enough, about 15 minutes later, a very nice guy arrived and fixed the leak, as well as located the shutoff, which was hiding behind the furnace.
