Baker Highway, turn right just before you reach the roundabout. This single lane road will lead you past the WHS Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, and then the road will turn rough with gravel. Keep going about 50 more yards, and on your left, you will find about 5 parking spots in front of a grassy field. Follow the trail sign and tree-lined path to the water where you will have spectacular views of snow-capped Mt. Baker. The Nooksack river will be flowing pretty fast all year long, but is more calm along the shoreline where you might consider dipping your toes during the summer. The cold river water will feel good on a hot day. Unfortunately, the beach is rocky, so bring some sturdy water shoes for navigating the plethora of pebbles and boulders. Leashed dogs are allowed here too, but I saw plenty running free on both sides of the shore. One dog kept charging and barking at me despite his owner's best efforts to recall and control him by voice. According to one park sign, you can fish here. I'm not sure if there are designated points. I didn't see any bathroom or picnic table facilities, so "go" before you arrive and bring your own blankets, towels and chairs if you plan on hanging out. The park is open from sunrise to sunset which is great for those wanting to photograph the natural beauty of this place.

One thing that I like a lot about this park is the open field adjacent to the river. I have flown my drone around to get footage of the river and mountains and the views are amazing! I was able to ride through a few trails and chose to walk others due to hills. As a new cyclist, I'd have hurt myself because it was an especially wet day. There's a playground, facilities, and picnic areas. The information pamphlet also provides a short history of how the land became a park. Very cool and beautiful place. I'll likely visit anytime I find myself in Lynden.

There is a lodge available to rent, changing rooms and bathrooms, several levels and hiking trails. Plenty of tables in sun and shade. Paddle boat, canoe, row boat and kayak rentals. You can easily spend the whole day here!

The beach park section of Larrabee park is gorgeous. There's ample parking, then a decent that's…read moreabout a 45 second walk to a grassy lawn and a beautiful stage built in the early 1900s. There were people performing music on the stage and park goers enjoying on the grass. Just to the left of the stage there's a path to the beach. Another 2-3 minute descent brings you to a trail going left and right. The path to the left is a short trail to a rock you can sit on and climb down to get to the water. Further that way there's another beach. The path to the right leads to a nice beach with a great view and a shade tree. There were some bugs in the washed up kelp, but nothing too bothersome imho. We had a stand up paddleboard so we used the path on the right after the stage area. I would recommend anyone bringing gear down (scuba, kayaks, paddleboards) to use this beach. Larger crafts can use the boat ramp just north of this beach, and you can drive right up to that ramp (north of the stage and parking area). It was a beautiful park and a great place to picnic, enjoy the water, and view the sunset!

The only shame was that big kids were at this playground throwing the wood shavings and throwing bottles at each other, not good for the little kids playing nearby. Many of the families left. This might have been an one off but it wasn't pleasant having them throw things from across the playground. There is plenty of grass area to run and play sports. The parking lot was a good size as well.

At one point my 6 year old poked his head out of one of the portholes in the pirate ship and yelled "THIS PARK IS AWESOME!"
