They fill up quick so I was thinking no way they'd accommodate last minute-- but wow, they did! I was thrilled and it meant so much. Our main instructor was Logan and Mallory was also there to guide us. They were funny, personable, and kind. I'm extremely shy, so it was surprising for my family to see me making jokes and being involved. The energy there just makes you feel comfortable to be yourself. They really talk to you as a good friend; they even remembered everyone's names and seemed interested in each person. (I kept mentioning how hungry I was because I had a busy day-- Logan had a pop tart and offered it to me, lol! It's things like that that make me smile :) As for the pottery making itself, it was so informative but also fun. They made me feel relaxed so I could dive in and give it a shot without messing up. I get nervous doing things like this because I get stressed from work and academics-- I don't want to worry about "messing up" when having fun. They made sure everyone knew that any accident can easily be fixed or accommodated. LONG NAILS: I usually have very long nails. In the photo I have about the Long (L) length currently. Usually it's between M and L. They had accommodations for this and taught alternate methods when needed and it caused no issues. Awesomeeee!! Kate guided me to choosing a painting for my party that would fit within the time limits, and the options are nearly limitless so there is definitely something for everyone! I originally stopped by in search of pottery classes--and was delighted to find not only that they offer them, but also that a new session begins on October 13th. In addition, there's a Fall Break Art Camp for grades 2-5, where children will experiment with a range of media including watercolor, acrylics, and collage. As I walked through the space, I was able to watch artists at work and enjoy the current gallery exhibits on display. The atmosphere was inspiring and welcoming. Adult fall classes--running October 6th through December 13th--are also available, covering both visual and ceramic arts. Each class is taught by individual instructors, making it approachable for students of all levels. Best of all, online registration makes it simple to sign up. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that such a wonderful resource has been right in my neighborhood all along. It was a great experience, and I've already registered for pottery classes--something I'm really excited about! We then took a bus/walking tour. Our tour guide, Hollis, was energetic and engaging. There were several tour groups on the buses, but Hollis led our group and did an outstanding job. As we walked, he took the time to have 1:1s with each student to get to know them and their interests better. Every member of the tour team did a wonderful job of making us feel welcome, sharing lots of information, and being open to answering questions. 10/10 experience highly recommend!
