If I could leave them a ZERO star, I would. Extremely disappointed in their service. I dropped off a pair of Bear Paw boots that needed cleaning. The white fringe had gotten a little dirty so I took them in to be cleaned. I specifically asked them if they were capable of cleaning such an item, and they assured me many times, yes, we will have no problem cleaning these. Today, I picked them up with several other things, put them in my backseat, and continued on with my day....ran errands, worked, picked up kids from school, brought my shoes in after finally getting home. I was very excited to see them white again. Well, if I hadn't been so angry I would have cried. They totally RUINED my boots, and not ONE MENTION of it when I picked them up today. In fact, they charged me $40 to clean these boots. And they returned them to me completely damaged and unwearable. Be HONEST. Have a CONVERSATION with me about this. And DO NOT charge me $40 bucks for a completely failed job, and then expect me to pay another $300 for a new pair. I will NEVER use this company again. Ever. I will be going back, with the boots in hand, to see what they have to say. I'll update with the response. UPDATE: I would have LOVED to update this to a 5 star, BUT...I brought the boots back in this morning to discuss the issue. At first, the man tried denying that they did the damage, telling me that I dropped them off that way. After I told him I had photos of the boots before dropping them off, he quickly changed the story to, well, they were difficult to clean. He then told me to wait for 30 minutes for the owner to show up, so I did. She admitted to ruining them, after arguing with me, then told me yes, she should have called me to tell me. And then asked what she could to for me...and I told her that I would like to be refunded the $40 for the cost of the cleaning plus the cost of new boots. Her immediate response was SUE ME. Really? Problems and issues arise everyday in the business world. The true character of a business owner comes when there are issues and how they are handled. This was not handled appropriately AT ALL!! If it had been handled with respect and class, I would have changed my review to a 5 star, and continued to recommend them. For now, I will keep my review the same. read more

Buyer Beware!!! We brought in our girls' Girl's Scout Badges to be sewn on their vests. They told us it was going to cost us $10. When we picked them up, they charged us $50!! We even had a receipt showing they told us $10 and they refused to honor the price they have quoted us. Also, I have gotten a few pieces of clothes dry cleaned there and every time I pick them up, they smell like very, very bag BO. It wasn't just a fluke and happened once but every single time. I no longer get my clothes dry cleaned there and I'm definitely never going back there for any thing else after how they treated us today. read more

Lynn Cleaners ruined my dress and will not refund my money. Last week I brought my dress to Lynn Cleaners in Newton for a last minute alteration for a wedding; I had called beforehand that Tuesday afternoon and was told they'd be able to complete a hem by Friday. I took it in, tried it on with the heels I'd be wearing for the wedding, had them pin it up, ensured Friday pick-up wouldn't be a problem and left it with them to do the work. It was just a hem on the bottom of the dress that needed to be taken up a few inches. On Friday, I picked up the dress around 4pm and tried it on as soon as I got home. It was lopsided. Not just a little- but a lot. One side dragged under my heel (the same heels I used when I tried on the dress at Lynn's) and the other side of the dress hit at my ankle. I couldn't wear it- I couldn't even force it to work. Not only because it looked bad, but because I'd trip if I wore it. I called immediately, and having working in retail and restaurants wanted to make sure I was pleasant and not just some irrational unhappy person over the phone. I told them about their mistake and was told they wouldn't offer a refund, but that they could fix it if I brought it in. I explained to them that I didn't have time before my event, but that I was calling as a courtesy to make them aware.She stated again, firmly, that they would not be giving me a refund. They asked if I could swing by that night and I told them I couldn't...Because I actually couldn't... I had just gotten home- a half hour from Newton. It was already about 5pm. I had to pick my boyfriend up from the train in Newark before heading down to the Jersey Shore for a wedding the next day. We are close with the bridal party and were going to the pre-wedding events that night, so I had no option to change my plans. I was literally leaving the house within an hour to get to Newark on time and then down to the beach. I literally couldn't just "swing by and wait" for them to fix it. I packed and wore another dress to the wedding. I stopped in this week with my dress. After clearly seeing it was lopsided, they insisted I try it on...I didn't want to, but I did. But instead of simply admitting they had sewn my dress lopsided, the woman began to rattle off a number of reasons it wasn't their fault. The tailor is human and makes mistakes. It wasn't enough time- it was rushed. The dress is cheap. (Yes, she said that, and said it was a sh%t dress, cheaply made, and a bad design.Yes, in those words.) The dress hem wasn't straight to begin with. My shoulders were crooked. Etc. etc. etc. When I said that I would have to dispute the charge, the woman told me, "Fine, but then I'm not giving you your dress back". This kind of behavior is disgusting and I had had enough. I walked over and took my dress off the tailors table and yet I still, generously gave her another chance to explain why she wasn't going to just make good and give me a refund. She rattled off her list of ridiculous, petty excuses. She just kept saying, "we did our job". To which I say, no, you did not. You did not provide the service I paid $50 for. While fixing the dress in another scenario would be a viable, and appreciated solution, it's simply not in this case, and they just refuse to make good on the poor work they performed. At this point, I'm furious. I'm out 50 bucks for the tailoring of a dress I couldn't wear, can't wear ever again, and can't return. In addition to tailoring, I'm out the price of the dress as well! I feel utterly disgusted at how "scammed" I feel. They weren't even open to fixing the dress and refunding half of the bill. I hate blowing up businesses on yelp, facebook etc., but people should know that if they ruin your stuff, they won't make good. Bottom line is do not go here! read more

Awful! I brought 2 childrens casual maxi dresses to get a hem put in them. Dropped them off in the Blairstown location Lynn cleaners on 6/8. They told me its $30 and will be back on Wed 6/13. I put down $20, expexting to pay $10 upon pickup. Well, the dresses arent in Blairstown on Wed as promised so i had to go to Newton to pick them up as I need them for tomorrow! When i get there there is no one around, finally a man comes to the counter and tells me the job was $50. I showed him my receipt, $30 was the total. He calls some lady on the phone, puts me on the phone w her (the owner I believe) and she tells me if I dont pay the extra $20, she cant give me the dresses. No one called me to see if I was ok with the additional costs. The dresses cost leas then the hem! TERRIBLE business! read more

I have to agree with the previous reviewer! Just picked up clothes that I had dropped off and they all smell like a horrible BO!!! This is the second time I tried this cleaners thinking the first time was a fluke...but NO....I have to take all of these clothes to another cleaners after paying $50.00!!! Just awful. read more
