A birthday party would probably be a great success here, especially with supplemental kites or frisbees or other throwing things. The grassy field is sizable enough for kickball and other such terrain-sprawling sport. We had a compelling game of pine one ninja (think live-action fruit ninja, sub Dowel rods and pine cones). There's a quaint earthen walking path on the far side of the park that, I believe, leads to a pedestrian sidewalk passing over I40 and leading to the Winrock mall. There's also A bunch of well-maintained tennis courts, which I thought were for public use but appear to be restricted access... tennis club or something? I don't know for sure; better check with google on that. There's imposing chain link fences surrounding them, and while tunneling under may be difficult due to the asphalt and turf perimeter, you could probably climb them if you really wanted to play when the courts were closed. * Yelp does not condone criminal trespassing, and their views are not necessarily reflected in my satirical advice on circumventing restricted access. The grass was so lush and the shade and giant trees really made the place seem from another place. We had shown up the other day as I heard the disc gold was really good here. When we arrived we didn't know where to go but luckily there were some locals in the parking lot that pointed us the way. It's not a huge park. The one fella who gave us some guidance luckily gave us the tip that there were about half as many baskets as tee boxes. For example, hole(basket) 5, was also hole 15. We were able to find each tee pretty easily and with the grass cut throughout we weren't likey to lose a disc. Things got a little more crazy when a large disc gold club of people arrived. Around 2 dozen people met up for a tournament of sorts. They all started on different holes and all of as sudden we had to be extra careful of our throws as many holes are in the way of throwing lanes. We finished without anyone getting hit in the head, but there were some close ones. Great park, good disc gold course, just be careful of strays frisbees.

The play structure is pretty elaborate, with some Dali-inspired climbing instruments and some bigger kid monkey bars. Bucket swing, long chain radius; a big kid swing, too. Wood chips. The Bad: I've noticed a disturbing trend lately, concerning play slides: skid marks. Alongside the barrel of the slide I see these long black and brown lines which I can only assume belong to the rubber soles of kiddo shoes. It doesn't take a physicist to determine that these particular slides are way too steep, to the point that they're likely dangerous. My daughter and I usually take these slides together, her on my lap, to confirm that contention ("Iris, that looks way too dangerous... Let's go!"). Sister Cities has one of these slides. It also lacks shade, so summer play is an official bummer. No basketball/baseball/otherwise. The Verdict: Nice neighborhood, good space to play. I enjoyed Sister Cities and I'm really curious about the title of this park. If I lived nearby, the space would get meowt of the house. The city takes good care of this place, too.

You have to park on the road blocking the bike lane (I hate that) you have to get out of your car into somewhat busier residental street traffic. The playground is pretty far from the street which is kinda good from a children's safety standpoint. Bad if you want to sit in the car with the sleeping baby while the bigger kids play. (It's far enough, you would have to get out) There are a lot of people passing through this park, it's definitely​ not hidden in any way. There are also a lot of random people doing nothing... Not working out, not playing, just sitting or walking through... The size of the park is nice. It's got lots of grass and tennis courts..It would be nice for a large party... What I particularly love is that it has a very dog friendly vibe and I could take my dog for a walk steps from my home, knowing that it's a safe place for him and for me. The park is pretty clean. I think people who visit this park do a great job of cleaning up after themselves (minus a few dog poops that I saw around a park, which I hoped was due to unintentional unnotice of dog owners...and not intentionally leaving them there!). The park has both sand and grass area...they clean regularly (their trash is never full!) and provide free dog poop bags for those who forget to bring their own as well. The only drawback is that aside from a few big trees around a park, there's really not much shaded areas for you to hide from the heat. So, make sure you come when it's not 85F+ out. For me, since I live super close by...this temperature/no shade area isn't an issue for me. However, if you are walking from afar or driving here...maybe time it well so you or your loved ones (kids or dogs) don't get heat stroke!

There is a lot of fantastic park equipment for kids as well as plenty of grass and trees for ambiance. A lot of people love to walk their dogs here and it's a great place to do it! Our Parks and Rec department keeps it clean and that makes it a fantastic place to have parties. The neighborhood is really friendly and that makes this an extra fun park! We really enjoy even just parking here and enjoying a quick bite together when we just have a few minutes between errands because it feels like a break from it all!

Lush green grass, beautiful shade trees, not enough in my opinion, & lots of open space. This park is nice for family outtings including birthday parties & BBQ's. However you might want to bring a few awnings as shade is limited in the areas not associated with the playground. It's a nice park for a stroll around the perimeter, it has lots of room for soccer practice and not a lot of heavy traffic. I think I'll walk through here again soon on a nice overcast day.

This is a wonderful park up in the northeast part of Albuquerque. There's no real dedicated parking…read morespots for the park, but it seems everyone just parks around/along the park. What I like about this park is just that it's a park that people in this community actually use. There were people playing sports, walking, hanging out around a park and walking their pets. It also really did seem very safe and nice around the partk/area (which isn't the case at all parks). If you are around the area and have some time to kill, you can check out this spot. A loop around a park doesn't really take long. Even a rather slow walker like me did a loop in less than 30 minutes!

A cool swirly platform thingamajig that the oldest kids seem to love even more than those it was designed to entertain. Bucket swings and regular size swings. Wood chips rather than sand, important in the hot summer. A covered picnic area for lunch and/or spent parents. Immense grassy field, perfect for soccer/ultimate Frisbee/kickball (no baseball diamond, however). The Bad: Not well cared for or maintained. We usually find trash lying around, some of it sketch-o, and while I'd love to put all of the blame on shifty patrons, I'm beginning to think the city isn't investing enough to keep it clean. No shade on the playground-not unusual. The metal scooper sitting device (which gets its own sandbox for no obvious reason) is often broken. No lighting after dark. Rather limited bucket swing diameter. Over-soaking sprinkler system sometimes breeds mosquitoes by the swarmful. Trees line the perimeter but they're pesky, a serious waste of shade opportunity. The Verdict: With a new Community Center coming next Fall, expect a resurgence of activity on the grounds and in the 'hood which should translate to more of a deterrence for the shady types, and more kids on the scene. Decent, but not great park for families, and avoid during the heat of the summer.
