This park is just south of the main balloon park so if the wind is right, you get quite a show without the huge crowd. We like to bring chairs and blankets and watch the balloons sail over. Often times the balloons will land in the park, and you can get close to them. The kids enjoy collecting cards from the balloonists once they safely land. Another fine example of APS wasting taxpayer money. The fields are supposedly regulation size, but…read moreask any player and they will let you know how small the fields are. Then APS choose artificial turf instead of grass increasing the risk of injury and the wear and tear on the players' bodies. To add insult to injury the fields are 40 minutes (in weeknight traffic) from the NE heights, but that is where many (but for unknown reasons not all) of the NE High Schools play our "home" games...what a joke. Again, many - if not all - of the APS High Schools have soccer fields, but teams do not (cannot?) use them for games, because that would require proper maintenance of the fields (and granted no night games). Another of my many frustrations with APS!
