We enjoyed walking the trails and the water feature overlooks. There are also tennis courts and a playground and a community center is located here as well. The playground is shaded and has play structures and equipment for children of all ages. There are several picnic tables and benches in this area as well. The ground is covered with wood chips for impact protection. DD really enjoyed running around and using all the equipment on our most recent visit. Located just off S. Tamiami Trail/ 41 this park is easily accessible. Visiting this park is a nice way to spend a morning or afternoon.

Decided to try this park with the little one based on seeing it on yelp. Getting there was tricky…read moreas I was on the other side of the bridge and had to go around and make a u-turn. Signs posted state 2-12 years old...The swings have two toddler and two larger ones. The slides were not based on anyone under 6. The stairs to climb up to them are almost 6 feet tall and not for a toddler. You have to be on your toes If the child switched from one slide to the other side as the height mentioned doesn't allow you to guide them from the ground. There are also two potential fall areas (where they climb up) if the child went away from the slides. There's also a climbing wall for older children. Younger kids are relegated to the swings, steps, benches, and short walk up area. I noticed corn hole concrete boards which is a good addition. We walked over to the trains only to see the main train is only open Wednesday through Saturday til 1PM & the caboose had a sign saying under renovation. There are signs showing reservations available for parties and such with bbq pits.

There's no parking, but down the street is public parking so we dropped off our stuff here with me and my husband parked. I love these kind of beaches that are off the beaten path. It's the true definition of beach, beach, chill, and relaxed. Since this is not Siesta Key, the sand is quite different. There are a lot of sand pieces and it feels a lot like gravel. But I'm not looking for that powder sand, I'm looking for the chill beautiful all natural which this is it!

Plenty of parking…read more There is a short 2-mile trail that goes south and does a loop through town, but you want to go north. The trail is an old train line but it has been paved over. It is Florida flat except for 2 bridges that go over the highways. Both within the first 2 miles. The scenery is actually pretty good for the whole ride. At the halfway mark (almost exactly half way), you can see the original train tracks, with signage to explain. The trail is pretty well marked, with little disks telling you how far you've traveled (or till your back). Pretty nice. The end of the trail is a small park (with parking), but not much there. The whole ride is 10.63 miles (one way) - according to my watch. It looks as though they are working on an additional segment, but when it will be ready - unknown.
