It reminds me of my local Lucky store, which carries a foreboding that I didn't see coming. This place had the same energy. But finding a single beer, which is something you can do here, eluded us. The soda was fine, but it took such a long time to find. Maybe it's a Merced thing, or maybe it's an issue in this tiny pocket. The Dickie's BBQ had the same issue. Low standards, low energy, not caring so much. I say that because the Smart and Final near me is a bit more perkier and energetic and doesn't leave the sense of foreboding that this store has.
