The painting team did a fairly good job. But, they stepped on my gas stove and left divots in the porcelain. No I was not there to prove that, but, I cleaned my stove the day prior, and I know my stove. They left mud and a mummified wasp nest on my new roof. Cover your lawn because their boots wore my lawn out. They covered my furniture and appliances with plastic, but there were paint dots on both. The biggie for me was the surprise when I cleaned my stove top. It cannot be repaired. No, I would not recommend this company. read more

We had M and E painting out Is to paint our house that I recently remodeled and put Cedar on the outside with new windows. As a contractor I was curious if somebody would use the same quality as myself and was not going to let them get away with anything less! They were quick efficient and took care of my property, With no oversprey on my new Cedar or windows.My house now looks the best on the block according to all the neighbors! I'm the point I've already had 2 people ask me if I would sell it.. Just wanted to thank M&E for taking the value of my my curb appearance up! M&E ruined our brand new and very expensive deck because of the inferior product they recommended as a "stain". Within months the product began bubbling, cracking, and peeling. And the stain job was never right from day one...M&E and their workers seemed puzzled by how many coats it took to complete the job, which took longer than expected, and still there remained some areas that were unevenly stained. And, no prep work whatsoever (sanding etc.) was done. Then the cracking began, and now the stain even brushes off with the simple sweep of a broom. It is clear that the wood was not stained, but more like painted. We located a detailed evaluation of this product which concluded "Benjamin Moore's Arborcoat is prone to peeling in cold weather states...and did not perform well on a newly built deck". It was also stated that within months "the Arborcoat had peeled significantly on the brand-new pine deck. Patches of the finish had peeled off the wood in strips. You could peel back large sections of stain with your fingers. The product did not seem to have penetrated into the wood at all." M&E initially responded by coming back on two separate occasions to paint over the areas that had peeled away, which was completely ineffective and did nothing to prevent future deterioration. M&E offered to come out a third time, which we initially declined. As matters continued to worsen, we contacted M&E once more, upon which they responded "You left this issue to get worse and not be addressed when we were willing to address it, and due to this, that issue is now between you and the manufacturer". M&E, I'm sure if you had come out a third time, our problems would be magically solved? So I guess it's our fault now. We trusted M&E to recommend the right product for the job, based on their experience, but they failed, and now we will have to pay another company thousands more $$ to refinish the deck using a suitable stain, since M&E has not offered to do so. Or, maybe I should be thanking M&E for going beyond the call of duty to come up and paint over a few cracked spots, since they do not warranty decks. Lesson learned and buyer beware! It's been a pleasure to work with M&E painting for the past 5 years. I have my own residential painting company and they have always been great to work with in handling my larger commercial jobs since I don't have the manpower to do. Since they are a larger painting company they have partnered with us to take care of everything we need. They are one of the good guys in a crazy painting contractor world. Our experience was awful. Our crew arrived late, were in and out all day, and did a terrible job painting. Paint lines were sloppy, paint was left on vanities and baseboards, and the overall job was rushed and poor quality. I complained, and minor corrections were made. I finally called the estimator and he blamed me for the condition of the house when they arrived. We were in the middle of a major remodel, and this was the only contractor that didn't meet our expectations. Huge thumbs down. read more

If you want to see what your house will look like in no time, drive by 2263 Muir Lane in Fort Collins -- look at the side facing the next door neighbor's house. I can do a better job myself! They initially told me that they had power washed the entire house, but I came home to find dirt and cobwebs low enough for me to see! I asked them to redo the entire house, and they supposedly did. The paint color was matched to the previous, and came out yellower than previous. They apparently did not spray more than one coat on the side near the neighbor's! It has been a while, and I am looking for a contractor to paint my new house, and will not be using these guys! Since I see so many positive reviews for them, I felt compelled to put in my 2 cents' worth so that someone else doesn't get a low quality job when looking to pay for a high quality job. read more

Just had our house repainted by M&E in September. As a former painter, I know the shortcuts to painting so I've always painted my own house in the past. M&E didn't cut any corners. Their prep work was more thorough than I would have done myself and the finish looks great. Their painting crew was professional. They showed up early (but not too) and worked diligently throughout the day. There were no obtrusive behaviors such as smoking or loud music. I'm 65 and had a heart attack last year, so hadn't gotten out in my yard to notice that my neighbors had OUR shared fence stained without my permission The portion I paid for and installed was stained by M&E Painting of Loveland, www.mandepainting.com. The painters over sprayed my aluminum post caps and my top rail 2x4x8, I called M&E to report this but got a very defensive and belligerent woman who refused to come see and take care of their mistake. I called their other number and got a man who said he would look into it, but has never called back. I;ve spent many years in construction to know how this was sluffed off is no way to stay in business or to treat people you negatively effect with your trade. I wouldn't let M&E paint an out house. Got a coupon in Valpak and always see their ads around town, so decided to give M&E a try to paint the exterior of our house after getting a couple of other bids. Our first trouble was expecting to see our house painted the day they said they would come out, but they never came. We waited a few days, then finally called to inquire. They responded that they were delayed due to weather... OK, thanks for letting me know! When we came home the day they finally came out, we were disappointed to see two Hispanics that barely spoke English wrapping up. Now, I'm not racist and they did an excellent job, but we were disappointed to find out that M&E subcontracts their work. I'm sure I could've found these 2 guys on Craigslist or something and pay them more while paying less for the whole project. The manager then came out to do a walk through to make sure we were satisfied. We pointed out areas we wanted fixed since we were paying 4 figures for this project. He said that most of these fixes would be an "extra charge"... seriously? He then agreed to make them come back out and make some fixes for free. He then got pushy and wanted us to pay before the touch-ups were made. We told him not until the job is done. They came out and did some of the touch-ups the next morning and told us that "the other guy" is behind schedule and will come out as soon as he can, so we went ahead a paid the other half. 4 weeks later, we're still waiting for "this other guy" to come out. Maybe M&E thinks we forgot... You live and learn when you have other people do the work for you. read more
