There isnt really enough time or space to list all of bad things I could say about what I witnessed much of which was mentioned in another review (rampant bullying of which she doesn't deny, terrible horse purchases, etc, as well as that one of the reviewers here on Yelp has actually never met me before yet tries to comment)but this review is going to mostly focus on possible fraud with the owner of this facility using and having us pay for an unlicensed veterinarian to care for our horses. The owner of this barn informed us that the gentleman treating our horses on a regular basis was a licensed veterenarian and while he might have at one point had a license to practice in another country he does not and did not have one to perform here. This only came to light on our end when we needed old veterinary records for a horse. To our surprise the individual that was treating our horses for lameness, advising prepurchase of horses, and general maintenance was not licensed to practice Veterinary medicine in the state of California or Arizona where this all occurred. Regardless what the owner will say about the individual having completed school in Mexico they weren't licensed to practice here and that was never disclosed. This was confirmed with the state board that the individual was not licensed despite whatever any other reviewer or the owner may say in response. You can PM me if you desire. Anyone who rides regularly in a training program knows you are at the counsel and mercy of your trainer so you are dependent on them to prescribe what's right for you and your horse. This individiual charged 5 figures in services to us in the 15 months we used his services including injections and other procedures. This may not seem like a big deal and may not apply to a casual lesson taker, but when you trust a barn owner to advise you on the purchase of 6 figure horses you expect honesty and expertise. I can tell you from experience how an individual does one thing is indicative of how they do all things. The lies here all apply to the lies and shady practices that permeate the rest of this business,but may not be aware to some people who only come for occasional lessons.That honesty and integrity was never received here at this barn. While there are plenty of operations in Arizona for Hunter/jumper, some better than others, almost any other option would be better than choosing to associate with this facility. read more

Monica is extremely knowledgable at what she does and it is evident when you see her ride and interact with the horses. She pushes her students, and gets great results from those who want to learn. If you want a break from jumping, the ranch has trails right outside the gate where you can ride through the beautiful Sonoran desert. She has helped me with different horses at all levels and is such a motivating and thoughtful trainer for both the horse and rider. It's taken me a few months to write this review as coming to M & M Ranch ( she now is calling it M & M Showjumping on social media) was one of the worst decisions and definitely the most expensive mistake of my life. The riding community is small and it seems like often people are afraid to speak out about negative experiences so I hesitated to write this, but what I experienced at M & M is something that I wouldn't wish on anyone and I have to do the right thing and share. The main theme of this operation is incompetence, Monica is very disorganized and many of the riders and horses rapidly decline in this program. Her instruction is often confusing and conflicting and far sub-par to the level of instruction I am now experiencing at my new barn. While at her barn Monica got me involved in two purchases of horses that were completely unsuitable and its very obvious she has no idea how to properly match horses and riders. I really didn't know any better before having the experience with Monica and trusted her guidance but I have had to now move to a barn where the trainer is truly amazing to have her sell both of these horses and it has cost hundreds of thousands of dollars dealing with the issue of two horses that I cant even ride. When she realized she had made a grave mistake instead of even attempting to fix the situation of a 6 figure horse neither she or I could ride and that the seller was unwilling to take back she tried to offload dealing with it it to one of her out of state friends. Monica constantly traveled, had her teenage family member running things while she was away and I came to realize why she had hardly any clients in her barn. I also experienced rampant rumor spreading and bullying at the barn and nothing is done to address any of it (in fact Monica kicked out a woman who tried to put a stop to this by telling what was being said and done behind client's backs). Monica seems great at first and she talks a good game but if you are serious about showjumping or learning proper horsemanship, I would look elsewhere. read more

My daughter has been riding at M and M for about three and a half years. She has grown enormously in her skills, her knowledge of horses and her ability to care for her horse. Monica is a great teacher, with patience when necessary but she also motivates the students to do their very best. Great place to learn horsemanship. read more

It's that time to find wonderful things for my kids to do for the summer! Every year my daughter is lucky enough to experience M & M Ranch!! She is 9 years old however there are children there of every age! Both boys and girls learn the value of team work, they learn the value and responsibliity that goes into taking care of a horse and of course they get to enjoy riding and learning confidence building tricks!! Monica is the owner and with the help of her lovely children other children get to have an amazing experience every second they are there!! I highly recommend this ranch (whether your child is a horse lover or not)! The whole experience is just amazing!! read more

This place is great for beginners and experts . Monica is an amazing trainer. We don't have any complaints and her camp is amazing! The kids love it. Monica is the best with the kids. We have done Camps at Witte where the kids are on a horse for 15 minutes a day, maybe. At m and m, Monica teaches them horsemanship. The kids spend time one on one with their horse and actually learn to ride. Very pleased! read more
