I had basically uncolored hair (yes, shocking- not a real blonde), long and parted in the middle. He has seen me through the years, and through every trend and season. Still today, he is just awesome. The salon itself is right out of Que Pasa USA. Almost everyone is Spanish speaking. The salon is across Tropical Park, a mostly Hispanic area. While there, at any given moment someone will come in with a colada (Cuban espresso) and offer you some. Stylists and clients share stories and laugh loudly like it's always one big party while music blares in the background. If you visit, ask for Wence. Of course, he is always booked so you must make an appointment at least a couple of weeks in advance or call and check for cancellations. I drive 45 miles south to see him. She is a true professional. Very timely with her appointments, honest with her recommendations and assessment of your face condition(s), and has a gentle touch. Well, as gentle as you can be when you are talking about facials. I've heard about facials where they only splatter different creams on your face and charge you over $100 to do so. This is not that kind of place. Pilar conducts a true facial where she cleans your blackheads and does not leave you looking like a beehive attacked your face at the end. It is a great juvenating experience and the price is extremely reasonable. For $50 you not only get a facial, but also a hydrating collagen mask. On another note, since I would consistently visit my facial lady here, I asked about a good person to cut and style my hair. For the past four years, I have been getting my hair cut by Ana Rosa and I am super pleased with her work. I feel as if she has a magical touch because my hair really grows back healthy and strong after each cut. Anytime I visit this salon, which is typically on Saturdays, it is buzzing with high intensity and most, if not all of the approximately 8 hairstylists are all busy with clients. They also have a separate area for manis and pedis, which is just as full with customers. All in all, my experiences at Hairmania have left me with nothing but good opinions of this salon.
