Then I got a financial advisor and she told me to go to On Call Accounting & Tax Services out in Hampton Bays, NY. First of all, I'm paying much less than my old guy because I'm not paying Manhattan prices! I worked with Rhonda Cohen on preparing two years of taxes which I was very late on. Because I'm based in Manhattan, I wasn't able to visit their office in person. Rhonda was very helpful in talking to me over the phone and we pretty much took care of everything by email/regular mail. I explained to her that the IRS gave me a pretty tough deadline, and she really worked hard to make sure I was able to file by that date. I'm so grateful I found these guys! I am such a scatter brain when it comes to this sort of thing, and they helped me to feel like I really knew what was going on and how to stay on top of things.

Out of convenience, I chose this office because it was close to my new home. What a mistake. It's not that I wouldn't recommend State Farm Insurance, I do, just don't use this agency. Their administrative staff are not only, not competent, but they lied to cover up their mistake and it cost me $75 with the State of South Carolina. They assured me when I signed on with their agency that they would take care of transferring my account information, including my direct withdrawal for my plan and not only did they not do that, but they did not notify me that my account was "delinquent" for non payment. It wasn't until I received a notice from the State of SC that I was an "uninsured" driver and charged me a fine, but I had to reach out to them to ask them what had happened. Even after I gave them the name of the associate that I spoke to, who assured me she had everything they needed to set up my new account, they said "she never spoke to me" WTF? As with other reviews, once you sign on with them, you can't get a hold of them. Bottom line, don't use them. There are plenty of other SF Agencies in the area. Pick another one.

My experience with Joan M. Hodges has unfortunately been misleading & very costly due to her…read moremistakes and her gross lack of professionalism. I paid her last year, as I have every year since 2009 to do my taxes. I recently received a notice from the IRS, she made a mistake. I went to her office two weeks ago & brought her the letter. She said she would call me in a couple of days. I called her again yesterday, she was very rude over the phone saying she did not have time to look over my paperwork. She also said she had not done a thing regarding this mistake she made. There was no remorse or empathy in her voice or anything she said. She did not say when or even if she would care to help me with a problem she caused. This mistake she made is easy for her to fix and she is leaving me in the dark to figure her mistake out on my own. As a result, thousands of dollars owed to the IRS due to her carelessness. Do not let her Southern "charm" fool you. She is not kind, she is just looking out for herself and she will not fix the problems she causes. Please do not trust her with something as precious as your finances. I wish someone would have warned me. There are plenty of reputable CPA's that back their work up and care enough to fix the mistakes they may make. Caring for her clients is not the work ethic of Joan M. Hodges.

She just lost her home with her children, fell two payments behind, and was brutally beaten by her husband just last week. Instead of showing an ounce of compassion, they lied, pretended to be decent human beings, and then swooped in last night to repossess her vehicle. To make matters worse, they have now given her a tight 10-day window to come up with $4,000.00 to get it back.Taking away a mother's only source of transportation during the worst week of her life is predatory and vile. I truly hope you sleep well at night, because karma is real and you will get exactly what you deserve. This heartless behavior is exactly why the world is in the shape it is today.I will be sharing this story across every single platform possible, and I am ensuring that everyone I know shares it as well.
