The city of Winchester is easy to visit in a day, and I'm sure 3-4 days would be wonderful! The cathedral, the walk thru abbey park and along the river were beautiful. High street is a really fun place to shop and wander. The history here is astounding. So Reeves? I was first attracted to the window, it is clearly a favorite bakery with locals and is filled with yummy treats! We tried an Apple strudel and a cinnamon pastry twist. Both so good. We also got scones to take away and share with friends. And shortbread too! The services was quick and very good! Check it out, if you love a good bakery you will love this one and it's surroundings! I gave him his hat back which he had dropped beside my car and told him that there was no damage and tried to explain they had not left me enough room to get in. He then said 'don't argue with me' and launched into an unprovoked tirade of abuse. His mother returned and he kindly told me to F*** off then got out of his car and took a picture of me although I told him this would be harassment - which it was. It is so nice to have a chance to mix with the upper classes at Waitrose, you just don't get this at other supermarkets.

Another reviewer mentioned that this Asda used to be open 24 hours, but as I recall this branch of Asda has never had 24 hour opening. The hours are very good in my opinion, it is open Monday to Friday 8:30am to 10pm Saturdays 8am to 9pm and the normal Sunday 10am to 4pm. Asda has recently had a make over and now has a second floor where all the clothes, electricals, DVD's and home stuff is located. I do my weekly shop in Asda as generally they stock the widest range of the types of things I like to buy including a very good selection of salad and vegetables, as well as a wide range of meat. The staff are normally pretty helpful both at the tills and customer service desk, and generally the items I want are in stock.

They have a hot food counter where you can get already cooked items. It also does good quality fruit and vegetables. The staff are not overly friendly, but individual members of staff are lovely.

This Sainsbury's also has a cafe area, a hot food counter, electrical and clothes areas. It is a very large store and takes quite a while to look around, although it is laid out really well. There is a dedicated desk in the clothes and electrical area that can help you with any stock that isn't out on display. It has a large fruit and veg section as well as a bakery but the frozen food isle are not that big. Good place to do your weekly shop as you have a marks and Spencer next door and the petrol is always at a reasonable price compared to other stations. Staff are also helpful and friendly.

With currently not having a lot of income and the disgusting prices food has risen to recently, I…read moredecided to take a trip to Aldi recently and see if I could save a little on my usual weekly shopping. Aldi was founded in 1946 but the first branches opened in the United Kingdom back at the end of the 80s. A lot of the products originate from Germany. The store's interior was rather shabby looking and I#d wondered if I'd made the right choice but it was also very quiet. It was a lot easier to go about my shopping without crowds of people in the way everywhere. The items have a basic layout - usually stacked in cardboard boxes in aisles bar the fridge and freezer items and fruit. But it was fairly easy to find what I wanted but I bought everything I normally would from the major supermarkets [as well as a few extras] and spent £10 or so less which was nice. Aldi offers a lot of own brand alternatives to common food items like cereals and crisps often at a much cheaper price and they do taste quite similar as well. However I did find that on some items they were a lot poorer than the bigger supermarkets. Things such as toilet roll were quite expensive and you didn't get half as many rolls as you would for a much better price at somewhere like Asda. I also noticed that they don't really have a great deal of variety. A lot of items you'd normally expect to find in a supermarket such as lemon curd or jam to name a few were not stocked and whilst you can easily knock quite a lot of your weekly shopping bill, it still means a trip down to Asda or Tescos to get a few extras. The staff were all very friendly both around the store and at the checkout and the store has a nice bright and feel good vibe to it in general. My only complaint would be the lack of plastic bags or suitable storage containers for the food. We had to rely heavily on cardboard boxes that weren't very big and eventually had to pile most of the food back into the trolley and then bit by bit in the back of the car and out again at the other end. However I would definately reccomend Aldi for anybody who would like to save a bit of money on their shopping though I wouldn't personally shop there every week I still think out of the discount supermarkets I've tried such as Lidel or Netto I definately felt I got the best value for money here. Just make sure you take lots of bags or boxes!
