I reached out to 5 different local roofing companies big and small. Several sat me and my wife down, showed us prices ranging from 20-30k for just the roof, used fear and other emotional tactics to try and convince us we desperately needed a new one, showed us powerpoint slides of their business and tried negotiating on the spot to get us to sign a contract right then and there while they were in our living room (one company very much overstayed their welcome even when we were trying to get them out the door as it was past our daughters bedtime). Craig Gouker Roofing did none of the above. They came, did an inspection, let us know what options there were and what financing options there were. They didn't try to sell us or upsell us and they left. We received our estimate and it came in at less than half the cost of the BIG companies and about a quarter less than the other local companies. We took a few days to look over our options all while several of the companies kept calling us to keep checking in and further negotiate. Again, Craig Gouker Roofing didn't do that. It's the only roofing company I saw that had positive reviews on both google AND yelp. Nobody goes to yelp to leave positive reviews! We not only decided to go with them for the replacement, but we decided to have our gutters replaced as well. Not because they told us to, in fact, they didn't even mention them. I wanted them replaced and even WITH the gutters included it was still cheaper than the other bids for JUST the roof replacement. As for installation, it was extremely smooth. It was about a month before we were scheduled, but immediately when they arrived, the foreman let me know how long he expected it to take, what it would look like and what they would do. I mentioned a few requests that weren't discussed previously and he was happy to oblige. Overall the entire job took 2 and a half days even with one of those days unfortunately turning into a flash flood situation. They cleaned up extremely well, were courteous to our neighbors in terms of where they parked their vehicles (most houses on my street do not have driveways) and communication was phenomenal. I believe in "show, don't tell" and Craig Gouker Roofing very much does that. They clearly are confident in their quality and work, and rightfully so. They respected my time, my choices and especially my money. When the work was completed, the final bill was almost a complete 1 to 1 of the estimate. (we ended up having about $1000 worth of additional wood needed due to the condition of the roof, which tracks and was legitimate) Overall the roof and gutter replacement ended up being about 18k. This was a first time experience for me and I very much appreciate how easy and smooth they made it. I could not recommend them enough.

Claims he has materials he doesn't and claims he had to special order things and won't provide receipts when asked. The store says other wise that things were in fact not ordered and what materials he did drop off are incorrect and are in stock in the store. He offered a refund, we will see if we get that. We have been down to studs since beginning of September. Oh and he punctured a hole through a wall and didn't fix it. It has been a nightmare trying to get the correct materials or a refund so we can part ways with him. We will see if we get the refund he said he would give, if not we will be taking him to court for compensation. ​
