Great salesman, but everything after the fact was awful. Was told at signing that work would start…read more4-6 weeks out, and at 8 weeks they said it would be another 3+ months. I escalated until they finally said they could make it work. Work was okay, but not nearly as detail oriented as I'd expect, given the premium price associated with their bid. Simple things like columns way off center from poured concrete footers (one was hanging OFF the footer - I made them redo that one). A year later, we had some staining on a few of the deck boards. This was most likely from some unrelated painting we had done, and I reached out for a quote. The rep came and confirmed it was a simple job, 2-3 hours max for a single rep. More than 2 weeks later and I still haven't heard back from KBC. I called 3-4 times in a week requesting a call back, and never got anything until finally an email. Their "unofficial estimate" was $4,200 stating it would take 2 men 2 full days to replace the boards. Mind you, the boards are on the end, the job couldn't be simpler. Why the disconnect between their field man and office? My best guess is they're price gauging because they either don't want the work, or think the painters will cover the cost. Either way, super shady. I talked to 2 other decking companies out of curiosity, both were 75% cheaper than KBC's estimate, and one even said they would have "goodwilled" the labor to me, only charging for materials, because it was such a simple repair so close to the completion of a larger project. For the record I still never received a call, as requested, from Angela. I would stay away from Krueger Brothers because it seems once they have your initial deposit they stop caring about you, and no care is given to customer satisfaction or loyalty. Attached are the photos of the very lightly stained boards, 4 in total, that we were interested in replacing. $4200 and 32+ man hours for that LOL

Where to start? (search YouTube for Krueger Brothers/KBC for half a dozen videos of dangerous…read morematerials blowing off the roof.) First, if this company has done work for you, you might want to start by looking at the price of the work according to your insurance company, and what KBC lists on their permits. I hired KBC to do some Commercial and Residential work for me. They didn't pull valid permits for either. (can be found in the public PPRBD archives.) (the home work they just didn't pull a permit at all until the damage they did to the house was addressed. For the commercial work they listed the permit price as less than half the actual price, which according to PPRBD's building code means it's not a valid permit.) KBC would go on to list invalid permit prices, or do work without a permit multiple times on this same project. For the residential work, KBC put 7 nails directly through our main electrical panel, including hitting one of the two main wires feeding power to the house from the street. We found multiple locations with arcing inside the electrical panel afterwards. (see attached photos) For the commercial work, the work wasn't done to code, and had to be completely redone on multiple occasions. It should never take 3+ years for a 4 square roof to get done to code. KBC put 21 holes in the new roof, then did a terrible job patching the holes they made. (see photos) Eventually the coping which wasn't secured properly which KBC knew about for years blew off the building on a windy day. (see video) Not only was the work not done properly, but KBC repeatedly created hazardous conditions at the work site by not staging materials safely, even after specifically being reminded to secure their loads when staging. (see attached videos) A picture is worth 1,000 words, so I've added some videos of what you can expect from KBC. To date, this work on the commercial roof still isn't to code, but I've given up on KBC ever following through. This project started in 2019, and still hasn't been done properly. I even hired an outside engineering firm to help guide them when KBC was clearly out of their depth, but they wouldn't even follow up the written fixes from another professional. There are hundreds more photos and videos of terrible quality work done by KBC. If anyone would like to see more examples, please feel free to ask and I can provide plenty more. This is a small sample of the last three years of headaches and frustration. There are also half a dozen videos of materials heavy enough to kill a person falling off of the commercial property. KBC also took an insurance deposit to do work on our deck, then after months of delays said they wouldn't be able to do the deck for the price quoted, and then refused to return the down payment for the deck so I could hire someone else. Instead, KBC paid themselves with the deck deposit, supposedly for finishing the residential work. I came to find out when I started double checking everything KBC had sent me (after seeing huge red flags after they started working) that KBC had inflated their residential work numbers, to where they were charging me for over 700% more work than they actually did. (KBC did under 300 sqf of work on the side of the house, and charged for 2,000+) I was invoiced for permits that were never pulled. I was invoiced for work that was never done. I was told that materials used were code (they weren't). I had to contact the material vendor where I found out that the wood KBC used was not acceptable for fire code. KBC had previously lied and told me it was when I asked. Finally, although KBC was out this year (3+ years later) to work on the coping, I would like to point out that the issues with the KBC coping work had been pointed out in the 2019 engineer's report I gave them, but the coping issues were never addressed until a huge metal sheet blew off of the building on a windy day and almost hit someone in the parking lot below. The fact that over 9' of coping had never been secured to the building but the work still passed PPRBD's inspection process clearly speaks more to a lack of quality inspection.

Troy's crew were coordinated and remained "on time" throughout the project (don't underestimate the importance of this). As with any remodeling project, it's the details that make the difference. Troy has worked in all aspects of home building and even had his own cabinet shop at one point. Having someone that has finish carpentry experience is invaluable; those folks have a higher standard. Right off, I just didn't have a good feeling the owner, who was present, would work with us; his attitude seemed off. The main portion of our project included our desire to change the color of our island cabinetry. We were not sure the best way to accomplish this, but assumed it would include a light sanding and professional spray painting. It did not take long to realize we were in big trouble when his sub-contractor severely sanded the cabinetry and then began to paint it by hand. To say it looked awful is an understatement. We ended up contracting with another service that updates cabinets with pre-painted veneer overlays, new doors and hardware. That company was able to give us a professional finish beyond our expectations.
