I stopped into M Lounge for their Friday night happy hour after hearing about it from my friend's cousin, who happened to be DJing a house set that evening. We arrived right at the start of happy hour, which made it easy to order drinks and grab a comfortable spot. There was even a caterer onsite selling food, it looked good, but we passed since we had just come from dinner. By 7 pm the crowd had grown, and the lounge was completely packed. The vibe was very local, with many people clearly familiar with one another, which gave it a laid-back, neighborhood feel. The drinks were strong, the music was on point, and the energy was just right for a Friday night wind-down. M Lounge is the kind of spot that would definitely be in my regular rotation if I lived in Chicago. Since I don't, I'll just have to make sure it's on my list every time I visit. read more

Overall, this was pretty good time. In town from StL, our group of 11 visited on a Saturday night and arrived around 10p. We were provided the section in the front of the lounge, but told we could only occupy 1/2 of it due to another party coming later, who never showed. It was ok, we sat close together to leave space for the ghost party. When the DJ changed, the music got a bit weird with 1 song including a mix from a church song, which felt odd. I made a request to hear T.I. and the DJ asked me, "Why?". Uuummm, well, because I asked. What else do I say. Anyway, bar selection was strong with several Bourbon options: Knobb Creek, Basil Hayden and a few others. However when I asked the Bartender if they carried Coke or Pepsi, she said she didn't know and said it's "Cola". How does the Bartender not know? We ordered a few bottles of Champagne for the group at $66 apiece and the champagne had a very nice taste to it! We stayed about 2 hours and Overall had a nice time. read more

Now I actually didn't get to get in "all the way" because they were at capacity so needless to say they follow COVID rules but it looked nice clean cozy and the music wasn't too loud or raunchy. Even though I called I got no answer and they said it was first come first serve for a parties less than 6 so I didn't leave a message to make reservations. My partner and I walked in the frigid cold to enjoy some jazz music tonight only to find that a sign was posted saying it was closed on a Saturday night. There was nothing on their site or calendar stating that. Is that too difficult to do...updating your site so people aren't wasting their Saturday showing up to only find we can't get in? read more

I come to M lounge often on Tues and Wed nights. They are great nights to come out and just soak in the atmosphere and enjoy the music. Tonight Julia Huff is performing and she is not only a fantastic act but so humble and fun to talk to! If you can check her out before she goes out to Europe in June, do so. You will not be disappointed. The only reason I don't give M Lounge a perfect score is the pricing on their drinks. They are too pricey considering the alcohol content and the wine is well.... pretty shitty. Still my go to though for a fun and chill night. And the crowd is always friendly. read more

I enjoyed M Lounge. It seems like a place for regulars though.. parking is street, I'm unsure if there were lots near by. Seating is at the bar or at one of the comfy chairs, chaise or couches they have upon entrance. By 8pm, it was standing room only. We were fortunate to find 2 seats at the bar. M Lounge is a small venue situated at the far end of the South Loop. It was a Saturday night and full house. Our party of 11 arrived without a reservation and had to cram into two small tables by the door. It didn't work so well and eventually the servers gave us a reserved area by the windows because that party was late. The area had four small tables combined together and a couch-like seat stretched across the window ledge as well as other small ottomans and plush chairs. The menu offered a good selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Prices were not bizarre. Most of us ordered at least one drink and we also had a round of jagerbombs. M Lounge isn't the typical lounge for chit chat. It was a bit loud and we could barely carry on a conversation without shouting across the room. We lingered for an hour and a half before we decided to switch places. P.S. The group who originally reserved the area never showed up. That was a huge plus for us! read more

I have been here several times and I even went to celebrate my birthday last year which was cool to hear the live band and soak in the laid back ambiance sprinkled with a lot of mature adult fun. I have only been disappointed once when I came here and that is when the band didn't show up but that isn't the fault of the owner but I didn't end up staying that night because I was by myself and hey that would have been odd. I like the fact that do offer non-alcoholic drinks for people who don't drink or maybe the designated drivers. I think that is a plus because some places don't order that option or they have a very limited choice for you to choose from on the menu. I haven't had any of the food items that they offer but I saw many people ordering so that is something I may try next time. I look forward to see what they have in store for this upcoming year. 3.5 Stars I've been to M Lounge on many occasions. Most recently I went last night for a friend of a friends Jazz event. M Lounge is on the smaller side, but the atmosphere has always been great. Usually this isn't a place I just stop into. I've moreso come for bday parties and events. On a prior experience I came for a bday party and they were nice enough to give us the more secluded area by the front of the window. Only downfall is food isn't served here, but your more than welcome to place an order from another establishment and have it delivered. Really intimate place and usually a good time. read more

Stopped in for a friend's b'day this past Saturday night. Never really heard of this joint as I really wanted to go to The Shrine, but I can't control where someone goes for their b'day. Walked in and noticed the place was quite small. If you stand behind someone waiting for a drink at the bar, you are in someone's way trying to pass by. The bar itself is quite long and the seating against the wall is quite relaxing. Kind of a swanky place which of course draws the posers..LOL. I drank champagne the whole time I was there, but the martinis that passed me by looked quite delicious. This is a good place to end your night and enjoy a decent atmosphere. Music selection was quite questionable though as "Just Dance" by Lady Gaga does not go with the place. read more

The selection of music is top notch. They also have non alcoholic drinks (Mocktails) for those that do not drink or don't want to have alcohol. A hidden gem in the South Loop with a Chicago vibe that is second to none. The main gripe is the size and that this place can get crowded easily. Plenty of room to mosey up to the bar or to sit in one of the cozy chair groupings. A nice neighborhood feel with a good mix of people. Street parking is a bit of a challenge, but on the weekends there is valet parking ($10) which makes it an easy choice. I was a bit surprised that there was no live jazz. Someone had suggested this place to me and talked about the live jazz. Turns out- the live music is on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. On the weekends- they pipe in jazz music and show vintage movies on the flat screen TV's. Lent a nice feeling to the place. Good drinks, nice bartenders in an classy environment? I visited the M lounge on a Friday Night in late May 2021. My girlfriend was celebrating her birthday and reserved a table for 5 of us. When we arrived we were greeted with the warmest of greetings and seated right away. The atmosphere was so nice and the DJ that night was amazing. We ordered a few rounds of drinks and all the drinks were tasty and strong. We had a great time that night and the vibe was great! The management seems on point at this spot, I felt safe and relaxed. I was having so much fun I walked off and left my credit card. I contacted the manager at 6am that Saturday and explained how I was in Chicago for the weekend and needed my card right away. The lounge didn't open that evening until 6pm however Derrick (the manager/owner?) agreed to meet me early that afternoon to get my card for me so I could enjoy my stay in Chicago! How cool was that! The M lounge located in such a way that you would need to look twice to actually see the location. The vibes, the relaxation is amazing !!! Not too crowded on this lovely Saturday night(weather wise) but not empty..I also understand that everyone does not enjoy a overly-crowded place. The music selection is GODLY... The drink selection definitely lives up to the Hype!! I'm an average size guy and the bartender deserves credit for the drinks he served us.. My lady seconds my opinion of this place we were actually very surprised with how comfortable and intimate the ambiance is. I have chosen to give this place four stars, if you are in a chill mood looking to just relax and have a couple drinks this is an excellent choice. it covers all basis except food, if they had a snack menu with a few appetizers I would have given it five stars. A beautiful place to enjoy a Tuesday evening; with a live band

Great place for mature adults 35+ who want to have a drink and listen to good beats. It is small but has adequate seating. The crowd is inviting and classy. We had no reservations for the lounge seating but were approached by management and they offered us seating-we declined as we thought we needed to get bottle service or commit to a minimum, but surprisingly were told we did not and we took the offer. I was impressed as I was visiting from LA and in LA, you pay to sit. The customer service was great and the DJ played amazing beats and even offered us a shot! Wow! My 1st visit but not the last. The owner is soooo personable. He accomodated my RSVP with a 24 hr notice for a party of 10. The service was great once we arrived. Sigma Phi Beta Fraternity Inc hosted this event and offered free delicious food! This venue is wonderful bc you can bring your own food inside. Drinks a bit pricey but there is no cover charge so it's not so bad. The band w Simone Green was awesome. Only downside to this place is that it is really really really small. The photos are a hoax. Its no dance floor and the bar seating is extremely close to the VIP section which causes for squeezing pass. read more
