The…read morefirst 30-40 minutes were quite intense, as he worked out the knots and kinks from my shoulders and back. If you ask for lots of pressure (as I always do), be prepared to get it as Karlo is a very strong guy. So the first half was definitely more therapeutic than relaxing. The second half of the massage was more soothing, a welcome relief from the deep tissue work. It was great - I think I was zoning in and out because I was so relaxed. The real sign of a good therapeutic massage comes in the next 24 hours. My understanding is that during massage, toxins are released, and they may make you sleepy. I had a really deep sleep that night; it's rare when I don't get up before my alarm goes off, but I was OUT. And during the day I could feel all the areas that Karlo had worked: they were tender, but not painful. I could tell that they weren't tensing up any more. Karlo is a very friendly, highly professional CMT: easy to talk to, and he knows what he's doing. The studio is clean and quaint, fairly typical - and well-located near Sherbrooke metro. In general, the service was great; the masseuses were nice to talk to and very professional. My masseuse didn't go as hard as I liked on my back, but she definitely compensated on my glutes. My only problem was the washroom - the walls were very thin, and half of it was a glass pane covered by a curtain that you could easily hear though. And while understand that's not exactly something they can fix, it still made me super self-conscious while peeing.
