My massage therapist was Karlo. I got an excellent 90-minute full-body therapeutic massage. The…read morefirst 30-40 minutes were quite intense, as he worked out the knots and kinks from my shoulders and back. If you ask for lots of pressure (as I always do), be prepared to get it as Karlo is a very strong guy. So the first half was definitely more therapeutic than relaxing. The second half of the massage was more soothing, a welcome relief from the deep tissue work. It was great - I think I was zoning in and out because I was so relaxed. The real sign of a good therapeutic massage comes in the next 24 hours. My understanding is that during massage, toxins are released, and they may make you sleepy. I had a really deep sleep that night; it's rare when I don't get up before my alarm goes off, but I was OUT. And during the day I could feel all the areas that Karlo had worked: they were tender, but not painful. I could tell that they weren't tensing up any more. Karlo is a very friendly, highly professional CMT: easy to talk to, and he knows what he's doing. The studio is clean and quaint, fairly typical - and well-located near Sherbrooke metro. I'll definitely go back in the near future.

In general, the service was great; the masseuses were nice to talk to and very professional. My masseuse didn't go as hard as I liked on my back, but she definitely compensated on my glutes. My only problem was the washroom - the walls were very thin, and half of it was a glass pane covered by a curtain that you could easily hear though. And while understand that's not exactly something they can fix, it still made me super self-conscious while peeing.

A 1hr foot massage started with a 10 minute neck, shoulder, and arm massage as my feet soaked in warm blue water. She then did a very nice foot and leg massage, hitting all of the right pressure points, muscles, etc. She used her hands, arms, elbows, stretched my feet and legs, used a lot of pressure which I liked, and also finished by draping hot towels on my legs and feet. It was pretty comprehensive and my feet were so smooth after (all oil was cleaned off). I've had foot massages by over 40 different massage therapists in my life (I backpacked through Asia and got massages in every city), and this was probably in the top 10% of the ones i experienced. The place is not fancy but it was inexpensive and she knew what she was doing. I will have to come back to try the other massages.
