Downgrading to one star. With the bad rain storm last week, it was hard to fully inspect the job done on my car. But, today I found 13 places on my front bumper where the paint was scraped off / chipped. 13.... That's an awful lot. Mind you, the damage I came in for was a dent to my front door. The parts affected during the repair (front bumper, sideview mirror, door handle) were "remove and install" only. They were in great condition beforehand.... no chips, no scratches, no sticky black residue, no damage. I took photos before the repair. I also handwash my car. So, I know what my car looked like before. I'm more than disappointed as I feel my fairly new car (3 years old, bought brand new) was not treated with care. I definitely regret having my car repaired here. And I'm not comfortable having them do any further work on it to undo the damage they did. Side note: Paint was not a 100% match. My wife has experienced terrible customer service. First time she took her car down to drop off and when she got there they told her that they didn't have the part. No phone call prior to that. Now today, she was proactive and called herself. They didn't have the part again and is now calling Honda to see if they can get it now. Ridiculous. Bad customer service is unacceptable. Twice now. Being proactive is better than dealing with upset people. I hope they do better. My wife is not happy with the whole thing and there is not much we can do. I can write this unhappy review. read more

Unless you have an insurance claim, don't bother. They won't work on your car or bother to attempt to get you their business even if you pay out of pocket. A lot of these good reviewed shops only care about insurance claims and don't like working outside of that. read more

Unfortunately I've had to take almost every car I've owned here, due to the fault of others, and they always do an awesome job. OFFICE: Staff are friendly. You normally have to set up an appointment time in order to get an estimate which isn't a bad thing. It's good to have order. BASEYARD: Naturally cluttered but not in the messy-sense, which I think says a lot about the business. WORKMANSHIP: All of my vehicles have been repaired very professionally and with no over-spray on parts that weren't damaged. Repair time was comparable to others. Got in a bit of a bender and Allstate sent me to M Toguchi Auto Body; it was a pleasure to do business with such and up-front and honest shop. As an older woman, I have seen many a slick/slop job operation especially in the automotive industry...gotten to the point where I can ~smell~ them (one of the superpowers you get as you age!!). Todd gave me a straight forward opinion (looked like a Total) so I'm back with Allstate doing the Estimate Dance and, when we're done, I'm taking all my bent Subaru to Toguchi!! ps I saw there were a few 1 star reviews here and just wanted to say that these were mostly 'scheduling problems' not work related. When I discovered a scratch on my bumper, I was first filled with rage as I searched for the animal who had done this to my precious car. After my rage had subsided I called Bryce at Toguchis because when it comes to body work they are my number one choice due to their professionalism and the quality of their work. Sure your friend might be able to do it cheaper, but they're also using a carpentry hammer, wadded up newspaper mixed with glue and a can of spray paint. Toguchis has the best equipment money can buy and the best techs on the island. My was returned looking like it just rolled off the assembly line. In fact, it actually had a better color match on the bumper than from the factory. 10/10 would return. read more

Before making calls I read a few reviews as you might be doing now and instantly chose to go through with Toguchi body shop. Todd helped me along the way, he was very clear on everything and made it make sense to someone who has no idea about the technicalities. Enterprise works alongside so having that set up before and after really helped relieve the pressure of doing everything (which I really just needed to show up and pay.) This was my first accident and I was going into it thinking it was going to be stressful, but to be quite frank i didn't feel any stress. I'm so happy to be able to write this review because I can't say enough good things about M. Toguchi Body Shop. My Lexus was hit by a hit and run driver who did over $7,000 damage to my car. Needless to say it was a very stressful experience. I was really concerned that my car wouldn't look or feel the same after it was fixed, but now that I have it back, I can't believe how perfect it looks! It looks like a brand-new car. Todd the service manager is a gem to work with. He went above and beyond to explain everything to me and couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. He is a real asset to Toguchi's. After being rear ended I thought it was going to be difficult finding a good quality honest body shop especially since there aren't too many to choose from on the island. M Toguchi Body Shop was one of the shops the other party's insurance suggested. I'm very happy they were the one I chose. Besides Todd being very professional and pleasant to work with, he took care of everything from contacting me as soon as they got word from the insurance company to schedule the estimate (I didn't have to call them), to the completion of the job and everything in between. He kept me updated with the process and the progress of the repairs, scheduled the drop off of the rental car on the day my car was to be taken in, as well as the rental car company picking up the rental right at the garage when my car was done so we wouldn't have to bother returning the car. He did all the dealings with of the insurance company and contacted me right away as soon as he knew the job would take a little longer than expected. He also took care of the extension of the rental contract. Always returned my calls and emails. I never had to even think or deal with any "red tape"! My car looks great!!
