INCREDIBLE! If you're thinking of booking with Annika, just do it. I did a boudoir shoot with a few add-ons (white sheet, honey, and shower) and I love all of my images. Annika made the whole process so simple. She helped answer questions about the outfits I was trying to choose between and gave clear instructions about what to expect and how to best prepare. She checked in regularly before my shoot (three months out, two weeks, day before, etc.) with information so I was never left wondering what I should be doing. She's professional but fun! The shoot day was amazing and she walked me through all of the poses and showed a few sneak peeks off her camera screen which made me feel confident as we were going instead of wondering whether all these awkward feeling poses actually looked good or not! The photos are gorgeous. I had originally purchased the package that came with 40 photos but ended up with the package that includes all of them once I saw how beautiful they are. There's no way I would have been able to narrow it down to just 40 so I asked to upgrade to the all-inclusive package. I had the idea of doing boudoir photos on the backburner after I started following Ma Cherie Studios Instagram page. I figured if I were to ever get boudoir photos done, I FOR SURE wanted Annika as my photographer. Her photos were just so professional and classy. I sat on the idea for over a year before I took the plunge.The reality was, I had gained about 20 pounds, and I hadn't been feeling my best or most sexy. I wanted to wait until I lost the weight or felt better about myself. However I realized a few things. One, who knows how long I'll have to wait for that day to happen. Two, I was leaving Boston and moving back to Canada imminently. Three, Ma Cherie Studios has a clear message about body positivity - loving yourself as you are and self-empowerment. Annika was fantastic throughout the entire process. It started with a phone consultation. We then did an in person consultation closer to the big day. This one can be over the phone as well, but I wanted to meet Annika before the shoot. Annika is super organized and has a plethora of information preparing you for the big day. The Pinterest page that was created just for me was extremely helpful in finding original pieces. I had my hair and make-up done by Jannicke and she was lovely. Amazing make-up! My hair didn't look exactly how I wanted it to at first, but she ended up fixing it and making it perfect. I stressed out a lot before the shoot wondering if I had enough items. Word of advice: Don't stress. I had way too much in the end, I ended up returning things I didn't wear. The final products are an amazing quality. Personally I wanted things that looked more like individual pictures so I chose the glass box. Because it only fit 12, I got two pictures done in the leather roll-up, that I can tuck in my partners work bag. These are more than just pictures. They are so artful, I feel like they need to be on the coffee table LOL. There was one picture that I wasn't entirely happy with because of the coloring. Annika happily sent new versions of it twice until I was satisfied which I really appreciated. Tips -Do a fully nude shoot. They were my favorite pictures! You are focusing so much on holding poses I didn't have time to think about the fact that I was being photographed naked. I felt this way the entire time actually. Totally comfortable. - Thistle and Spire lingerie became one of my favorite brands - I procrastinated a little bit and wish I had put a little more thought into some of my ideas for what I wanted out of the shoot. I snagged a LivingSocial deal for a one-hour photo session at Ma Cherie Studios... then promptly forgot about it for the better part of a year. Thank goodness the site sends out reminder emails. Anyway, I finally called up Annika Roser, photog extraordinaire, and she talked me through the details of what to expect during my shoot (outfits, backdrops, etc). She offered the service of her hair/makeup stylist -- I decided to wing it, but I was glad the option was available. I arrived at her South Boston studio with the wind in my hair and a small amount of anxiety, but she put me at ease with a mini tour of the studio and glass of champagne. The available settings ranged from boudoir to retro chic, and there were a bunch of fabrics and colors to choose from. I especially loved the hair ornaments and gloves she had available as props; the whole setup was professional and stylish. Then came the shoot! Eep. Before each outfit staging Annika ran through suggestions on how to stand/lean, where to look and how to smile; every 5 minutes or so she would show me the pictures so I could give instant feedback about what I liked or disliked. This was my second time working with Annika with about a year in between. Immediately upon arrival it was like reconnecting with an old friend you haven't seen in a while. She's incredibly professional and her work is incredible and truly speaks for itself. She knew what looks we used last time, poses, style everything and tried to change it up but remain in my comfort zone. She walks you through every step along the way and ensures you are happy with the images she shoots along the way. I'm incredibly thankful to have been able to work with her both times and look forward to shooting with her again in the future.
