Because of said girl and my love for all things girly and precious it lead me to seek out the best photographer for my daughter's one year pictures, one that would create a unique experience for us and deliver the best quality pictures. Not only did I find an amazing photographer, I found the sweetest as well! Dakota is masterful at what she does. Not only does she really devote time to listen to your visions and desires regarding the direction of your shoot, she is an adept photographer and artist who brings your visions to reality and then some! I was blown away by her attentiveness and patience with me (if you know me you know I can be a handful and over-the-top hence the need to "go big" for these pictures) as we both navigated my desires for my daughter's 1st birthday cake smash and with the finished product. You can feel comfortable with her taking the reigns and exercising her creative license when it comes to designing your set which she custom makes for you. The set she created for my daughter was professionally done and the studio lighting was perfect!! I adore the shots she got of my daughter and the attention to detail. The elements in the set were what I wanted and the cake design I directed her that I preferred was executed SO well. For background: When you book your session she orders a cake to coordinate with her set and she really heard my preferences/requests and relayed them to the baker she works with at Cuppa Cake Bakery. The cake was stunning as well. Throughout the session Dakota provided direction and instructions for me to allow my daughter to have the best possible pictures. She also kept snapping away and later revealed that she had taken over 600 pictures during the session! Dakota had pared my images down to a manageable number of pictures to categorize and select which ones I wanted but the time we had our followup meeting for picture selection. Dakota scheduled a day to view/preview the images three days out so l did not have to wait long to see them at all! And, when I did see them I was blown away by how they looked and the details and elements she selected. These pictures will be heirlooms my daughter and her family can cherish for years to come.
