Still, I recently ventured into Formby Flooring (for flooring, surprisingly) and I found their collection was fairly extensive and good value for money. Whilst it wasn't the most exciting place to go (what flooring shop is?), I found the staff to be helpful and knowledgeable as they were able to help me with my queries, of which there were many. I was there looking for laminate flooring but they also have a range of carpets, rugs and cushions and whilst they aren't the most interesting things to read about, it is still useful to know a good place to go fairly locally if you don't fancy a trip to Homebase or somewhere further away. They also have a free quotes service which can be especially handy when you are scouting around for the best deals.

As well as good quality products they had good quality staff who found the right balance between being pushy and helpful. It does have it's own small car park though and is worth a visit for something unusual for the home. The warehouse tends to stock unique and unusual decorative items along with quality pictures, mirrors, curtains, throws, statues, decorative candles and flower arrangements. It also stocks small items of unusual furniture, storage chests, side tables, dining sets etc all of which you won't find in the main high street stores. The store sells curtains, cushion covers and other fabrics and these can be made to measure. The shop is not very accessible to anyone withe a buggy or a disbled person as it has steps up into the store and then narrow spaces to navigate and a steep staircase to the pictures and furniture etc on the second floor.
