I visted this place while on vacation from the states. I'm so happy I found this place the food is amazing , like so freaking delicious I was doing my happy dance when my oxtails and rice came out. Everything I ordered was tasty, the wings , fries, rum punch. Me and my friends were very pleased. Plus the vibes and music was immaculate. I had a reservation for 7:30pm on a Friday with my brother. We both ordered oxtails with Mac and cheese and plantains. Pros: my rum punch was really good. As soon as they placed my drink down, you could smell the Wray & Nephews The plantains were sweet which I was happy about. The mac and cheese was pretty decent. It has a very subtle taste but it was moist. Cons: my oxtail were not tender at all. It needed to be either left to stew longer or a pressure cooker should've been used. I was having a hard time finishing my meal. The rice and peas were really dry as well. Luckily there was enough sauce from the oxtails to pour on it. I would def come back to drink and possibly try another dish. Be sure to make a reservation in advance and know they charge a fee if you cancel your reservation within 2 days or miss your reservation. read more

I'll give it a four stars only because I didn't really enjoy my oxtails. They were a little too fatty however everyone else that I was with and enjoyed their meals. The service was fast. Legit Jamaican food for good prices. Depends who the server is but this can be hit or miss. Had the red stripe chicken and it was tasty. Basmati rice wasn't great though. Jerk chicken was tasty and not super hot. All in all a good place to grab a bite in the afternoon. read more

We arrived with high hopes for the oxtails only to be hugely disappointed. We made a reservation for 8:15pm but were delayed by about 20 mins, but we went anyway because their website stated they were opened until 10pm and the kitchen did not close until 30 mins before closing. Even so, we tried to call ahead to let them know we running late and on the way but we got a vm message. When we arrived at about 8:35pm, we were told the kitchen was closed, even though it was nearly an hour from their published closing time. We pleaded with them to let us dine and told them we were in town from Los Angeles and had traveled all the way to their restaurant specifically for their oxtails, but they refused to seat us. It was a tremendous disappointment and a loss of business for them because we would have dined and had drinks as well. It's a shame that this is how you are treated all too often when you try to support Black or Caribbean owned businesses. I wouldn't recommend a business that does not value its customers. We went to Caribbean Delight instead and they were more than happy to have our business. read more

What a great little find - oxtail and curry goat were absolutely delicious and tender. Definitely go for this next time I come back! I chose the jerk chicken - tasted quite bbq saucey which is why I've not given this place a full 5 star. The plantain was great as was the coleslaw, the rice was a little dry but still delicious. We came here during lunch of which the restaurant opens only at 1pm. Ended up going next door to the Spanish restaurant for a couple drinks. Food was delicious but lunch menu did not have the same variety than the dinner menu. I would suggest the owner to open their doors at 12:00 and at least serve drinks and some ready made snacks rather than turning business away and serving lunch after 1pm. read more

Coming from a true Jamaican - I usually shy away from eating Jamaican cuisine outside of the home and family functions. This restaurant was absolutely AMAZING. We walked around Camden, went to a few bars and along my walk, I noticed this little place which caught my eye. I was craving some jerk, so thought why not, lets pop in. They were pretty busy, but managed to get a table. It's a cramped seating area. Quickly ordered drinks which took a while for them to come. There is so much choice on the menu, if you are hungry you will probably order the whole menu, but I was good and opted for the 1/4 jerk chicken with coleslaw, rice and peas and plantains with also a side of chips. The sauce on the chicken was divine, the meat fell off the bone easily, the flavours were unbelivably good. However, the plantain was soggy and really oily, the taste was horrible. The coleslaw wasn't anything special either, the real hero here was obviously the chicken. Rice and peas was a bit meh too. For £8.50, you are only paying for the chicken, if you can, maybe ask to subsidise the accompanying sides. The drinks are overpriced for what you get. I have had better Jerk chicken. Service was relatively poor and slow. The rush did die down by 8pm, we left at 9pm. Maybe I'd go back and try their starters. read more

Um, I only came here to cop a drink while I waited for a live event nearby. What got me here was some dude standing outside promoting this bar and the one next door. I step in, sit at the bar, and the White girl with dreadlocks never greets me, never smiles etc. I ask for my drink, and she tells me the price, I sip it down, and that's the last Ma Petite Jamaica has ever heard from me. If you're in the area, don't go to this bar, go to the one next door (although I've never been, it has got to be better). read more

We are American, very well traveled. Ambience - The music is way too loud and not Caribbean. Doesn't really make for a pleasant dining experience that you have to shout at your dining companion Service - The service is slow, not organized, and uneven. Asked several people for water. Finally got Waited 15 minutes to order food while I watched people who walked in after us get their orders taken. Food - this is the most inauthentic Jamaican menu and food ever. No patties, no coco bread. What?! I ordered the jerk red snapper. It was cooked so hard, I thought it was chicken. It was also not jerk, more of a slightly spicy BBQ sauce. We didn't have a problem with the wait time of the food. It was just underwhelming. read more

I love on the US west coast and this Jamaican craves something from home. I looked all over and thought I was on to something. I guess I should have been clued in that the name of the restaurant isn't very Jamaican sounding. My first option was the curry goat. And was told that it was sold out. Funny enough I recall being told what was sold out and the curry was not mentioned. Then I went for plan B: oxtail. Moments later, they returned saying it was sold out. I hadn't really considered a plan C, but went with escovitch fish. All this sold out business at 7pm! Had jerk ribs appetizer and it was ok. Really just some thick sauce that did not even remind me of Jerk at all. Fried dumplings were good but I could make that in 10 minutes myself at home (it's literally 2 ingredients). So, I think I'm stuck going to my aunties for good Jamaican or back in Toronto. Or just Jamaica. I'll keep my ear open for some suggestions though. read more

The worst service EVER!! Please avoid. We came here for dinner. We were not greeted by anyone. Sat ourselves on a table and then was told to move although the restaurant was near empty. We then had to wait 10 mins to order drinks as no waitress served us for ages. We ordered our food: oxtail and seabass. We were then told after we placed our food and drinks that oxtail was not available. After such a horrible experience we left and went to dinner at the tapas spot next door called Bar Ganza which was AWESOME. read more
