It is unfortunate, Joel continues to advertise non-stop for his services, and when his office is called, the woman working for him has absolutely no kindness in her voice whatsoever. She blatantly told me Joel was not assisting anyone, new, any longer, due to the number of individuals calling him. When I asked her why he continues to advertise non-stop, her response was, "Because he wants to help people." There is a problem with this picture. His "helping", is hurting and disillusioning the vulnerable. I ask, why would he continue to "urge individuals, through his advertising, to contact him? To dishearten these individuals is cruel. Find someone else who, may be more caring, and certainly does not lead you into a "hole" of empty expectations. This is an example of why lawyers receive a "bad name'. read more

Joel is an expert at what he does. He's kind and patient, well organized and meticulous. The documents he prepared for our trust was thorough as was his explanations. Well worth our time. Based on a 1/2 appointment to discuss the creation of a living trust, we found Joel Bernstein to be unprofessional and overpriced compare to the other lawyers we met with to discuss the same estate plan. Not only did he charge us a $300 undisclosed consultation fee at the end of the appointment, his quoted fee for creating the plan was overpriced by $2,000 based on the quotes provided by other lawyers with similar backgrounds and qualifications. Additionally, the other consults were free of charge and we found them to be much more helpful and informative than the $300 meeting we had with Joel. read more
