They make the pizza fresh all day, and one slice makes a really nice lunch. They have all different types and we were partial to the sausage and the ones with arugula on top. We grabbed our slices and headed to the nearby square in front of the Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena to sit and enjoy them in the shade. It's a great alternative to sitting down to a long multi-course lunch if you just want a quick bite.

You can purchase your choice of cheese, meats, jams and wine (if not driving!) for your picnic, and they provide the picnic basket, cutting board, bread, picnic tables, utensils, and an absolutely fabulous view of the tuscan hillside from a well manicured garden area. For the two of us, we bought an "etto" or so (100g) of each of several different cheeses and meats and sat down to watch the world go by. Great way to relax after several busy days of traveling! Reservations accepted; picnics must end by 1800. This was definitely one of my favorite activities in Tuscany. If you are driving through Tuscany, it's about 15 minutes from Montepulciano. Also, if you don't have time for a picnic (but why not??), they also sell their cheese for take away.

I had to hunt down the exact address and find it by myself because Google Maps wasn't helping. It was so funny because I was pulling up photos on TripAdvisor. Just as I came across a photo of three guys, one of them actually pulled up in his motorcycle! He turned out to be the owner, and he was just opening up his business. We had the shop to ourselves after he opened up. He had a lot of menus - all of them are handwritten. Some key words to help: melanzana = eggplant/aubergine panino = sandwich (panini = sandwiches) formaggio = cheese Salsiccia = sausage The bread cut the roof of my mouth after about 10 bites, but the sandwich was so good!
