We gave him a $10,000 deposit to buy materials. The holidays and the exceptionally cold winter postponed starting the job. We understood this and were patient. In the spring there were many excuses about why the work wasn't started. We were eager to get the work going but believed he was finishing up other jobs. As time passed, we began to wonder if the materials had even been ordered. Numerous calls and voice mails left to Fabio and his wife, Amanda, who runs the office, went unanswered. We sometimes got texts promising they'd call back or stop by to get started but they never did. We found out later that the materials had never been ordered. It's been over eight months since the deposit was given. Fabio Dourado and his wife misled and outright lied to us for an embarrassingly long time. We finally asked for our deposit back. Fabio immediately said yes, he'd return the money. He has not shown up for the several appointments he made to return it. Clearly, he doesn't intend to do so. Posting at least on star is required, otherwise I wouldn't give any. BUYER BEWARE of Dourado Drywall and Repair in the New Bedford and Boston areas. We do not want others to be scammed. We intend to pursue all available resources in order to have our deposit returned.
