We gave him a $10,000 deposit to buy materials. The holidays and the exceptionally cold winter postponed starting the job. We understood this and were patient. In the spring there were many excuses about why the work wasn't started. We were eager to get the work going but believed he was finishing up other jobs. As time passed, we began to wonder if the materials had even been ordered. Numerous calls and voice mails left to Fabio and his wife, Amanda, who runs the office, went unanswered. We sometimes got texts promising they'd call back or stop by to get started but they never did. We found out later that the materials had never been ordered. It's been over eight months since the deposit was given. Fabio Dourado and his wife misled and outright lied to us for an embarrassingly long time. We finally asked for our deposit back. Fabio immediately said yes, he'd return the money. He has not shown up for the several appointments he made to return it. Clearly, he doesn't intend to do so. Posting at least on star is required, otherwise I wouldn't give any. BUYER BEWARE of Dourado Drywall and Repair in the New Bedford and Boston areas. We do not want others to be scammed. We intend to pursue all available resources in order to have our deposit returned.

Our initial inquiry was sent on a Saturday, but the owner, Ruy Barbosa, replied within an hour. He met us the following workday to go over our needs and discussed various options. He projected confidence at being able to renovate our deck yet maintain its overall look. He was willing to work with us and the city's historic commission to preserve some key features of the deck. During the course of the work, Ruy and his staff were responsive to questions or changes that we requested. Communication with them was great. They were eager to please us and found ways to make the project stay on-time and within budget, even when curve balls were thrown at them. Overall, they renovated our dilapidated deck boards with composite flooring. They removed heavy railings and pillars, completely overhauled the structural supports, installed the composite flooring and finally replaced the railings & pillars. Additionally, we had them pressure wash and paint the deck. The cost associated with the structural supports and flooring was very much in line with what we believed was reasonable. We liked their work so much that they have also redone our rear porch & steps. Currently we are waiting on estimates for three more home projects. Before and after photos attached

Brutal experience with them back in 2022-2024. Would take weeks and, more than once, even months…read moreto get them to come back and do any work (see screenshots of my text interactions with them -- note the dates). They were supposed to build a new rubber roof. It started leaking on 3 separate occasions (which btw was never fully fixed -- we moved on to different contractors who did address the issues). And like I said, it would take months for them to actually come back and attempt to fix anything. Often they'd come by, look at the damage, then I wouldn't hear from them for multiple weeks. Meanwhile, more damage continues to accrue to the walls and ceilings. The internal fixes they applied for the water damage were just patch jobs. They just plastered and painted over. Meanwhile, the insulation behind the wall was soaked and accrued black mold that we had to address later. Also worth pointing out a major blunder at the beginning of the project (see attached videos and pics). They opened up the roof, and left it open for multiple days without doing any work. Well of course a major rainstorm came by (which was on the weather forecast well in advance). Alll that water poured into the house in the middle of the night setting off fire alarms. It was a nightmare to deal with on my end.

We had a custom build for our dogs which turned out exactly the way we wanted it and the company took the time to modify the build to have the doors open straight up instead of hinged so they would not bump into the walls of the room as well as find a material they used for the screens that would hold up to our dogs scratching and jumping at it. One guy would be there for three days and then someone new would show up and have no clue what the last guy did. One of the employees painted the bathroom walls without even wiping the walls down after sanding. What a mess and it had to all be redone, which I am sure would not have happened if I did not complain. At one point, I had to tell the project manager that I did not want anyone in my home until I met with him. The lack of craftsmanship, and integrity was upsetting to say the least. Who puts kitchen cabinets in before painting??? Once the job was complete, it took Vaz Construction another month to come back and finish the things that were not completed. Overall the experience was very disappointing, even more-so with the amount of money they charged us for their sub par work.

When I reached out to get a quote on a kitchen/living room paint job, Silva's Paintverse provided a highly over-priced and exorbitant estimate for a job that I managed to get done for thousands less via another local competitor. Are you amused and delighted by, the Rhesus riotousness, the Capuchin chaos, or maybe even Macaque mania? If so, then these guys are for you. Because, with "One Stop Painting" it's Monkeys all the way down. "One Stop Painting" doesn't offer "Craftsmanship", "High-Quality Service", nor Professionalism in any sense of those words. But, they will "transform your Space" into a Monkey enclosure, with all the attendant fecal matter. Let's forego the Zoo for now and move on to outcomes. Painting is both a skill and an art. "One Stop Painting" offers neither. Paint "Flash" everywhere. "Holidays" everywhere. Entire sections of molding not caulked. Walls not properly prepared; Wall paper removed, and no surface prep was completed before painting. Paint on the floors, paint on my shoes and clothing (bedroom). Paint on the bath/shower. Repairs to "Popcorn" ceiling were filled with caulk and painted over. They do sell a filler for just such a thing. Sanding dust (from what little spackle was used) everywhere; no clean up. I requested "Benjamin Moore, but got "Sherwin Williams" instead. Also, the wrong variant of "limestone". I work for and mix paint for a "Benjamin Moore" retailer, and receive a significant discount on their paint. But, Mr. Cohen stated "He would take care of it". He didn't. Let's speak of the "Craftspeople" onsite. One old Man (like myself) , and a young Woman. Both of whom are being totally exploited by Mr. Cohen, were basically "high" the entire time. Hence the lack of attention to detail. As for Mr Cohen; after a walk through/punch list meeting he was dismissive, of any concerns. He is also a coward and a charlatan; after a reasonable period of time, inquiries were made as to how he would like to proceed. His lack of response is telling. Basically, "not my Circus, not my Monkeys"approach. But such things from a MAGA contractor, I shouldn't be surprised. One would be best served by avoiding "One Stop Painting".

His quote for the exterior was about 50-60% less than any other contractor, interior was about the same or a little less. After that point, he told me he would be able to come in about two weeks (or very soon). He ended up not responding to me every time I would reach out and ask about it and it wasn't until about 2-3 months later that he came to do the job. I basically had to chase him to figure out when it would be done which was extremely stressful. When he was ready to do it, he literally told me the day of that he wanted to come and start working, even though I had asked him for a few days notice. He is very bad with communication, unless you get him at a good time for him. His workers did a good job on my house and I was happy with the job, but after a year and 9 months, my house started peeling and bubbling. I am not sure if this is because of the work done or just because of my house. Leo responded to me telling about it initially and said he would come look at it, but then proceeded to ghost me and not respond to any further messages. Basically, he will respond to an initial communication and come right then, but anything after that he will ignore and not follow up on. He is nice in person, and his workers all did a great job, but I am now disappointed. He doesn't stand behind his work and not responding to people you are working for is disrespectful.
