Called today an d got the office. Took my info and I said I had called a few times and that if they were busy I understood but could they let me know. She asked where I was located. Gave her the address. She told me to hold and then got on the line and said they were too busy. They handle the electricity in our building but apparently are too busy to check a different hallway or even call back? Terrible business practice. Called someone else instead and look forward to working with them in the future. Monument should get itss act together.

JW Electric made an egregious number of mistakes due to either negligence, which is unsafe, or…read morebecause they thought they could get away with a cheaper job, which is deceitful. These mistakes, outlined below, caused months of headache and hundreds of dollars in repairs. Mistakes that I had to fix on my own time and money - Drilled an extra hole in the side of the house, covered it with 2" of putty, and failed to tell me about it - Installed a 220 welding outlet instead of a standard electric range outlet in the kitchen. - Mini-split hookup in the wrong place, opposite where it was written on the wall and drawn in the diagram. - Hooked my 120 volt water heater up to a 240 volt breaker. This caused the heating element to explode and caused hundreds of dollars in time, parts, hired professionals, and consultation damage expenses. Things I caught during the job that were eventually fixed - Installed a plug that would have necessitated a male to male extension cord and told me it was common practice. Claimed to install the original plug so that he wouldn't have to order the part and make me wait 3-4 days when I had already waited 5 weeks from the consultation. - Two outlets completely forgotten in the initial wiring. - Installed outdoor outlets and light fixtures so that they were hanging off the edge of the house instead of half buried within the wall, as the products are designed for. Scheduling Jim assured me he could do the job in a couple hours within the next 2-3 weeks. He didn't show up for five weeks and the job eventually took him three days of work instead of the couple hours he advertised.

They did come out right away and spent about 1/2 hour at the house and changed out 1 outlet that was bad. They said we needed a lot of additional work and that they would get us an estimate. They have never gotten us the estimate and do not return our calls. They also charged for 2 hours of labor and $93.68 for the outlet. That seems like we were taken advantage of. Sadly, this is not the same company it was when Nick Hathaway was at the helm.
