    Baby yawns with Mackenzie
    Laurabeth P.

Mackenzie provided the best of the best with her care for me, my baby Chadwick, and for my family. Prenatal appointments were more like talking with a friend who had the knowledge and wisdom to make sure my baby and I were on the right track for a healthy pregnancy. She has a way of knowing exactly what you need and adapting to your needs, concerns and personality. I ended up needing my gallbladder removed at 22 weeks and she was the one who helped me through that and even came and gave me an extra check up after the surgery. I felt like she was a friend I could count on, not just a doctor who sees me as a pay check. She really, really cares about our family, beyond the usual needs of prenatal care. The majority of visits were done in the comfort of my own home, so I didn't have to pack up my other 3 young kiddos and go anywhere, but when you do go to her office, it is very encoring and family friendly, especially for little ones. My labor itself was quick, and she gave me the confidence I needed in myself to have my baby. I had a retained placenta, and she was wise and knowledgeable in handling that as well. Three months later, I have a healthy, 15lb boy and I'm doing great and she's still there for me should I need her. This was my fourth baby, and I will definitely be having her at my side for all my future babies. Do yourself a favor and make Mackenzie an honorary member of your family as you go through the journey of pregnancy, birth and postpartum care. It will be a decision you'll be glad you made. Thank you Mackenzie!

Mackenzie helped me every step of the way through my second and third pregnancies. She gave me safe, at home care, and when I had a very challenging pregnancy and delivery with my son, she guided and supported me with calm, strength and wisdom so that I was able to bring him into the world safely in my own bedroom. Her postpartum care was just as thorough and informative as her prenatal care. We are forever grateful. Thank you for helping me have the birth experience I was hoping for Mackenzie.

We had the most amazing experience with Mackenzie for my first birth. I felt so heard during our long personalized prenatal appointments in the comfort of my home, and by the time the birth was upon us she felt like a part of our family. Even my dogs had grown to look forward to her visits. Her calm, reassuring presence made the birth itself feel like a well choreographed dance, and I felt so safe and supported due to her knowledge and experience. The information provided during our several postpartum visits was so invaluable, and she truly went above and beyond to provide us with everything we could need and more. She had a way of not just doling out information, but providing us with knowledge that made my husband and I both feel so confident in the care of our newborn during those early days. Mackenzie is a truly caring individual, and choosing her for your midwifery care would be the greatest decision.

I've been told I have PCOS, I don't have PCOS. I might have endometriosis... all the things. And one day, I would like to become pregnant. He has helped me soo much. My periods have now started up again, they're still a little out of wack but at least they're back. He really cares about you, and I feel like he goes the extra mile to make you not only feel at ease but also feel heard. No one else has been really able to help me. I've gone to multiple doctors, naturopaths, and the one thing that's been a constant in my life is doing acupuncture and taking the Chinese herbs Dr Jaime gives me depending on what my body is going through at that time of visit. I have hope that I'll be able to have kids if I continue to see them.

It was a Thursday evening session, and community style. I did a little research as I have never had acupuncture before, but I felt like this was something I needed as I'm under a lot of stress from the daily world. It was about a 30-40 min session. He placed about 5 needles per ears and it felt like nothing. We chatted about my journey, and he was really great in explaining each pressure point to me, and just overall how it'll help with the stress I've been under. After the needles I meditated for about 20 mins, and he removed them. It was a great stress reliever and I just felt calm afterwards, almost like I was on a cloud. It was definitely a different feeling than when I walked in. Well about two weeks later, I found out I was pregnant and now going on my 7th week. Again we've been trying for 8 months, and I was so discouraged but the stress I was under was more than normal and the social pressures of getting pregnant at my age was a lot. I personally feel like this little session helped me so much, and just really assisted in my journey. Thankful I found this place, and recommend to anyone who is under a lot of stress that is just in need of a small moment to get some clarity.

While that's longer than one would expect, much of the delay was due to circumstances outside of Roots' or our control. Through it all, Roots supported us with compassion and consistency. Our case manager, Amanda Rega, truly championed us as Intended Parents. She was incredibly responsive, easily available over text with quick replies, and consistently looked out for our best interests. Roots presented us with several promising candidates before ultimately finding a match we were genuinely excited about and that our fertility clinic (with its very high standards) approved. They also helped us navigate some tricky situations with nuance, promptness, and care, balancing our needs thoughtfully while ensuring that our surrogate felt well supported as well. In the end, Roots delivered fully, and we're deeply grateful. We highly recommend Roots Surrogacy to anyone looking for a partner on this life-changing journey.

Dr. Gilbert made us feel comfortable and cared for every step of the way -- she took the time to explain everything clearly, answer all our questions, and genuinely supported us through the emotional ups and downs of the process. After years of being dismissed and have pamphlets handed to me to read what could be wrong I decided to just bite the bullet and make an appointment. Making that appointment was one of the hardest thing for me at the time, because in my mind I felt like I was admitting defeat, like I was giving up because I couldn't do this on my own. I felt so much shame and disappointment in myself, but I showed up that appointment and decided to give the process a try. Boy am I glad I did. It wasn't the easiest journey or the fastest route but so very worth it. I never felt like they were just there to collect money or like I was just another patient. Every time I would go in I was greeted my name and the entire staff made me feel welcome and comfortable being there. After countless blood draws, early morning appointments, 4 failed IUI's, we decided go to the IVF route and we're successful on our first try. I remember getting that call on my birthday to let me know I was pregnant. That was one of the best days of my life. I cried tears of happiness, I cried on that first ultrasound. I still remember thinking after multiple treatments, procedures and over 150 shots it finally took! I was finally pregnant. The day we graduated from the fertility clinic every staff member that we have ever interacted with congratulated us and I even got a hug from Dr. Whitten. I can't thank him and his staff enough. If it wasn't for them I wouldn't have my twins here. My husband and I went back to say thank you after we had our twins and Dr. Whitten made sure he came out to see us and meet the twins. By far one of the best doctors I've had. To whoever is struggling with infertility and is not sure what to do just remember you are not alone. It's easier when you have someone that cares on your side. Thank you, a million times thank you Dr. Whitten.
