I learned the hard way that cheaper IS NOT better when it comes to towing. My vehicle wouldn't start, so I began calling around for prices. I read 3 reviews on one site, possibly this one. One was a bad review and the other 2 were 5 stars that happened to be from people with the last name Mackey. Imagine that. Unfortunately for me, I made the decision to call for a tow thinking, "How bad can it be?" Before I got off the phone, I asked what payment methods they accepted, in which case the woman on the phone told me plainly, cash and credit cards.
So, when he got there, I was very friendly and explained the car wouldn't start, that the battery was shot. On the other hand, this guy was so rude and unpleasant. Fast forward to when he's pulling my vehicle up on the rollback, I had to tell him to stop so he wouldn't rip my front bumper off. I could hear the plastic air dam scraping across the pavement, I thought it was going to break off. When he stopped pulling, the front bumper was literally and inch from the pavement and the car was only half way up. I yelled for him to stop, that the car was going to be damaged. I asked him if the bed could be lowered any further. He smarted off, almost yelling at me. He then proceeds to act like he's so inconvenienced because he had to put boards down which should have already been done. This took him literally a minute to do. Excuse me for not wanting my car damaged. Then, after all this, she tells me they can't take the credit card... Even though I had just asked her what payment types they accepted no more than 30 minutes ago. Why? Because the truck they were in didn't have a credit card machine and they were "already out on the road" when I called. If that woman had any brains, she should've told me that they could only take cash... I should've followed my vehicle down there to make sure it wasn't damaged when it arrived at the garage. However, I did feel the need to call the garage ahead and ask them to make sure it didn't get damaged coming off the rollback. Next time, I'll push my vehicle before I call them again.
Long story short, PAY THE $10 +/- EXTRA AND CALL PROFESSIONALS INSTEAD! read more
