I ended up using Mackie through Home Depot. They utilize them as a 3rd party delivery/installation service. I have nothing against their delivery men. They were friendly when I interacted with them. The problem I have with Mackie's service is that they left us stranded with the machine they delivered smack in the middle of our living room with very little wiggle room. All we were looking for was a little compassion and empathy where we didn't have the right parts because we were supplied with the wrong parts by Home Depot. During their first two service calls, there was no knock on the door, doorbell ring, or phone call to signal that they were here for delivery and we "missed" it. Therefore, by the time they delivered it, it was considered a "special" run just for us but was unnecessary overall had everything originally gone to plan. They were not willing to wait past the end of their day until we could procure the right parts from our local Home Depot (an extra 15 minutes overall). I wouldn't recommend them based on how they did not help us out in our situation and we are now without a working washer/dryer. I hope this reaches the right people so that this family run business can take a good hard look as to how some of their clients are treated. For an organization the promotes how their employees take pride in their work....I fail to see it. read more

Worst customer experience of my life. They were supposed to deliver & install a drier from Home Depot a month ago and never showed up. The installation had to be scheduled for 2 weeks later. That day, they never showed up (The driver apparently went to the wrong address AND called the wrong phone number) They rescheduled for 2 days later, we waited all day and still nothing. We are waiting for our FOURTH time to get this drier. I can't get a hold of anyone at the company, I'm put on hold for 10 minutes then it goes to voicemail. After a whole week of calling, they left me a message saying to call a different number which is disconnect. Terrible service. Unreliable. Utterly Dishonest. 0 Stars. Do NOT order aplliances from home depot in Toronto as long as they use this company. read more

We used Mackie last year and found them to be very professional, friendly and prepared for everything. Just a caveat regarding movers.. if you look around google you will find lots of bogus reviews from people who have reviews just for moving companies and randomly all over North America. Ordered a Whirlpool fridge on Decemeber 22 and it said it will be delivered on December 29...No call or email about window/timeframe so I waited all day...They don't show, no follow up on rescheduling etc. I called back multiple times(3 different #s listed on their site), they were either closed or no one answers the phones. Called again today all morning all departments, spoke to one person who has no idea what's going on and decides to transfer me to hopefully someone that that could help..Guess what? it also went to voicemail. Actually THE worst company I've ever dealt with, I don't think any other company comes close(Bell/Rogers step aside). This place should just be shut down but apparently all these appliance stores use them as a shipping service. read more

Completely unprofessional staff. Refused to complete delivery on account of a dog, which was then moved into ANOTHER, SEPARATE room to convenience them, but it was not enough. 10 minutes after I put the dog in another room they were still trying to argue, then they decided to take the item back instead of completing delivery. I dont know how you find people like this, this was a middle company delivering an appliance on the behalf of home depot, and they are terribly unprofessional. I would never directly hire or deal with people who behave like school children. No courtesy, or maturity at all. If youre having an appliance delivered through home depot, double check they dont use this company. Otherwise have fun with the (mis)adventures. read more

Mackie is the worst delivery service I have ever experienced. Rescheduling delivery time and again as per their convenience is a tradition in the company. They have been associated with various prestige brands but looking at their service levels, neither they comply with their clients not the customers. Though, their mission statement says that they are committed to consistently providing the highest quality of services to their customers. Also they solely believe that superior customer service has always been and will continue to be the primary element of their success. Well it is totally questionable looking at the kind of service they provide; alas the way they treat their customers. They ask you to make yourself free for 4-5 hours and stay at home because according to them, your stuff will be delivered anytime during that slot. For the matter of fact, if Mackie is a process oriented company and call themselves customer-centric, then they are liable to understand that their customers are working too and cannot keep taking day-offs waiting for the delivery of the furniture and at the end of the day, getting it rescheduled. Additionally, if they are not able to deliver due to weather conditions, the scheduling department will give you a call saying that they need to reschedule because their trucks are not moving but the reason they give to their executives is exactly the opposite. They generally tell their executives or clients, that they could not deliver as the customer's path was not clear and that their delivery agents have safety issues. They just fool around with their customers as well as clients (like Costco), who have given them the contract for transport and delivery service. MACKIE is a total disappointment. PS: Mind it, they will not cooperate with you at all; let alone compensation for the inconvenience. read more

Hired what I thought was a reputable mover, wow was I wrong! The movers were great it was everything after. I had a fair amount of damage done, the move was not an easy one so I wasn't too concerned until I saw my TV was crushed on the edge. Emailed the company and it took them over a week to respond. Was told they will not cover the TV as it took me 16 days to report it. I have read a reputable company will allow up to 60 days! Not Mackie! They are willing to hire someone to come and fix the damages (hope he can fix a TV) but not cover the TV. Worst experience ever! Filed complaint with BBB! Definitely never use this company! This is the worst moving company I ever dealt with and I can compare Mackie Group (Mackie Moving Systems) with at least four other companies in Canada and the US. Their crews are most disregarded people and also they are untruth-ers. Their claim coordinator is even worse. Mackie would deliver your stuff (e.g., a washer and a dryer from Home Depot, as in my case) but a week later than initially scheduled. Do you want such a service? Then, go with Mackie. If you want your stuff delivered on time, forget about Mackie. This is certainly not the company you need. When their first crew came, they did not bring my washer/dryer to my house because, as they said, I did not separate washer and dryer from pedestals. I immediately called HD and was told I don't need to do it and that none did it ever. The crew left with my washer and dryer. I separated washer and dryer from their pedestals myself. The second crew came a week later (i.e., two weeks after I bought the washer/dryer) and complained that I was not at home (!) when the 1st crew came a week earlier! If you want to deal with such untruth-ers, you need to call Mackie. The washer/dryer was lifted to the 2nd floor and installed. The wall to which the stairs is attached was totally damaged (through touching it by crew's shoulders, elbows and even by heads (!)). It needs a serious repair before could be painted. All work would cost me at least $1K because the wall is about 6-m long and is the same for two levels. My laundry room needs to be painted also after Mackie. I filed a complaint, sent dozens of photos to HD; HD contacted Mackie, etc. Do you think Mackie apologized and repaired my walls? Its Claim Coordinator wrote, "The marks on the walls going up the staircase would be very difficult to make when the crew is holding onto the unit and trying to get up the stairs - it would be difficult for the unit to scrap against the wall." If you are still planning to deal with Mackie, don't be surprised when you will write here a similar review. read more

Really they don't even deserve stars but I have to give at least one to write this review. It's been two months of back and forth and I still have not received my replacement stove from Home Depot. It's been sitting with this moving company for months and they have apparently just "found" it. How do you lose a stove?! By far the worst most unprofessional company I've ever come across. I have had a heavily damaged unusable stove for two months while I sit and wait for this company to contact me for delivery. I've escalated to Home Depot but they can't even get a straight answer from this company if they even answer at all. Terrible. They need to be replaced by a better delivery company that actually has customer service. I guess the only thing the star can be for is the delivery guys that showed up to deliver my fridge a month ago. They were great in helping and double checking that my replacement stove was not on the truck. read more

Mackie Moving Systems (mis)handled our long distance move from Toronto to Vancouver in the summer of 2016, using their packers, their storage for 3 months in Oshawa, and their Vancouver unpackers. On the day we were to move into our new home, we discovered that: 1) without our knowledge or permission, our load was split between two companies, 2) we had no beds; they would arrive several days later with a company that we did not hire, Allied Van Lines, along with the rest of our load, 3) we watched in disbelief as we saw our fine furniture being offloaded with significant damage, including gouging of rare inlays on our antique credenza, 4) in total, we had 26 items damaged, four of which were damaged beyond repair. Even the Vancouver unpackers commented on the poor packing job in Toronto. When the second load arrived, we discovered that: 1) four cartons of valuable family heirlooms are still missing and untraceable, never found (we received only partial compensation for the items that we know to be missing), 2) our mattress bags and box springs were unsealed during the entire three months of storage, 3) we had to pay for the protective mattress bags nonetheless. Their entire sales pitch was one "myth" after another: Myth #1: that Mackie's packers are trained and qualified to pack delicate and fragile items Our experience: Mackie's packers did a 2-day pack job in just one day, cramming in as much as they could, not bothering to pack delicate items individually, and had no experience or knowledge in properly packing delicate items. Myth #2: that Mackie can track our load Our experience: when we discovered that our load had been split, we called the Toronto office, only to be told that they had never heard of such a thing happening! It took a few days until they could even tell us when our second load would be delivered. Myth #3: that Mackie's drivers are reliable Our experience: Our missing table and two chair child's set were located shortly after we moved in, and we were promised delivery the following week. After eight months(!) of repeated requests for delivery, their claims department paid us compensation, as even they got fed up with Mackie. However, we are still out the money we paid to move, store, and deliver(!) that table set. Myth #4: that items are properly insured with Mackie's "value protection" Our experience: this is not a bona fide insurance company. There is no insurance policy and no customer recourse in case of a dispute, as Mackie's "value protection" does not come under the Canada Insurance Act. Myth #5: that they can trace our lost belongings Our experience: Mackie lost four of our cartons containing valuable family heirlooms. Their so-called trace did not include checking with the households between Toronto and Vancouver whose belongings were on either of the same trucks as our belongings. Furthermore, they did not use digital UPC bar codes to enable scanning each carton. Mackie tried to justify their negligence, as they did repair whatever could be repaired, and paid us compensation for items that could not be repaired. However, we received only partial compensation for items that we know to be missing from the four lost cartons. These items were not for sale, and certainly not at distress sale prices, yet we are out the cost we paid to move and store all the contents. We don't even fully know what else was in those cartons, because Mackie's packers didn't label them appropriately. It took a full eight months to complete this process. They also tried to deflect responsibility onto us by claiming that we were simply "overwhelmed". The way this entire move was handled is appalling. read more

Mackie was contracted by GE/Home Depot to deliver my new refrigerator. The fridge has an LED screen and is not supposed to get wet. These guys had it in the rain for over an hour trying to figure out how to get the doors off to get it in my house. The door bolt was also stripped, so I told them to take it back. Second delivery the following week - 2 different men. They laid the fridge on it's back and proceeded to move it to the end of the truck and try to catch it as it tilted off. Clearly 2 men cannot carry a 600lb fridge and they did not use the lift in the truck designed for this type of equipment. Not surprisingly, the fridge dropped 3 feet to the ground - which I heard from inside the house as I watched in dismay. This is now 2 fridges worth over $6k they have destroyed. Clearly not the moving company I would chose for anything personal I would move. When I complainted to Home Depot, they said this is the second issue today with them....oh boy. I have called HD home office and asked them if anyone else can move this instead of STI/Mackie. We will see what happens on attempt 3 for me to get my fridge. read more
