I had hired Mr. Niewenburg to represent me for several ICBC accidents where other drivers hit me. Things seemed to be going pretty well. Then, one day, I got a call from Mr. Niewenburg. He said that he received an offer from ICBC that I should take it. I asked if I could please contact someone to talk about it. He told me that I only had 10 minutes to decide and that it was a good offer. I was stuck in traffic and did not have hands-free , so I couldn't contact anybody. Mr. Niewemburg also informed me that he had been teaching the ICBC lawyer on what to do for the proceedings. I was upset. He was supposed to be representing me. He should not be taking the time to teach an ICBC lawyer. The ICBC lawyer would've had coworkers and a boss that would've showed/taught her. Again, he told me that I should take the offer. I was so upset that I didn't have time to think about the offer, call someone to talk to, that I only had ten minutes to decide and that he told me he'd been teaching the ICBC lawyer, that I accepted it. Afterwards, I talked to other personal injury lawyers and they said that the offer was too low. Don't let them pressure you into doing anything. And make sure that they're not teaching the competitor lawyer on what they're supposed to be you.
