I know a few kids with alopecia and can only imagine what a game changer a place like this is for any child that is in need of wigs. Quality wigs can be so expensive. I have only done it a few times since it takes years to grow my hair out long enough to cut off the 10 inches or so required and still maintain a decent length afterwards. I prefer my hair longer. I think they had told me dependent on the amount of hair, it can take somewhere between 4-6 hair donations to make up enough for one wig. I donated somewhere between 12-16 inches last, all due to a gaffe in cutting my hair properly from my last hair stylist, so, I ended up 6 inches shorter than planned. No biggie. It's grown back and then some. I will donate as soon as my hair is long enough to keep it at a longer than after the cut here soon. They do charge to get your hair cut, last I checked. Considering how much I get cut and donate, it would be better if they offered to cut your hair for free, just my opinion. If you are looking for an organization to donate hair to, this is the place. For context I've been going here since I was a baby, now I'm currently a adult as we speak. When I was a child the staff there use to be extremely kind and greeted people, for clients such as what I and my parents fell under we were able to gain stuff to help us immensely due to low wages. Such as every month you can come in get 3 tops, 3 bottoms, a jacket or winter coat, a blanket/sheets every 6 months, socks, underwear, bra, shoes every 3 months. The staff there would even point out stuff to people there whenever they would have good items such as clothing or furniture, Because the clothes closet was intented for people not making enough money to get clothes on their back, and necessities. Not to mention everything they get is **donated** not sold to them it's given. They didn't have it open to the public originally due to it was connected to neighborhood house, however slowly they started to implement cost if clients wanted extra clothing however at highest something would cost was $5 at most and that's if it was furniture, and slowly was open to the public after years. But ever since they got new management they have become a former shell of what the use to be, now they're using their donations given to them to make a quick buck and it disgusts me. Clients now can only go 6 months out of the year when 2 years prior they could go every month because it was intended for families who make less money. You can only get a winter jacket and light jacket once every 2 years (so if you have growing children good luck keeping them warm) and same thing for bedding. Next they now have become full on money goblins, everything they have is given/donated to them and they are taking those donations and selling them for ridiculously high prices raging as high as $100. In fact they are even putting aside items for resellers to buy off them before anyone else can get to them which I overheard the visit I had today. Furthermore they now have implemented tables/racks that clients cannot even get items off them for free like this was intended for selling purses as high as 20-60 dollars. And due to them now trying to make a quick buck their racks are over filled to the brim with clothes to the point you can hardly move the clothing to see what's there in the racks at times, especially the coats it's absolutely ridiculous. And last their staff is extremely disrespectful. Everytime I try to great them I'm always met with a scoff or annoyed sigh, and they nit pick the clothing like it's coming out their own wallet. Overall I'm disgusted at the Neighborhood houseclothes closet it's a former shell of what it use to be and is now a money grab for resellers or outrageous prices. If you want to donate high valuable stuff to reach a family in need, don't do so here I'd suggest Facebook market place and putting it up for free for or gods helping hand if you want your donations to hit a family in need because they'll use your items here for a quick buck, and very limited for families who actually need it.

From the moment I was picked up at the airport, the staff was nothing but kind, caring, supportive, and encouraging. The orientation and mobility training I received was fantastic... I learned things I had never even thought about or considered even after eight years of being a cane user. Their breeding and training program is very professional, and the puppies are extremely well cared for. The facility where I stayed was top notch also... I would rank it up there with a fine hotel, from the rooms to the community areas used during downtime, to the dining. The meals alone would be welcomed at a Michelin star restaurant. I was also provided resources and contacts or any follow up needs I may have, and will definitely be coming back to Leader dogs when I do get my guide dog.

They have gone to hell in a hand basket. They once were the leader in the industry. They changed management and training, to the detriment of both the dogs and the clients. No one can complain because the new leadership has black balled complainers. Instead of trying to improve their practices, they hide behind a wall of secrecy and false caring. They are very dubious in what they say verses what they do. They are very good at public relations, but not good at client relations. I recommend steering clear of this organization. It looks good from the outside, but very broken on the inside. I wish I could go into more details, but my friend may be identified, and no other dog training organization would work with them. The failure rate of dogs has gone up exponentially. Check it out for yourself. Sad, just sad.

In the last month I walked out of there with Franco Sarto boots for $5, multiple Ann Taylor & Banana Republic & J Crew sweaters, nice shirts & tops, you get the idea. They have some kind of 'special' every day, whether it's 50% off, buy one get one, or my favorite recently, everything for a buck. That's right, a buck. If you're not too embarrassed to shop at a resale store, come on by. Finally, the youth that work there are so nice and are really happy to help you out. I decided to check it out today with all 3 of my kids and I'm very glad i did. Checking in was easy and the staff is very friendly and helpful. There are several different stations and play areas set up in a large space but luckily you can see pretty much everything around you if your kids decide to head in different directions like mine did lol they really enjoyed the large bounce house, bubble machine, chalk area, swings, and reading area. There is also a climbing wall and computer area. They have a hair salon on site which is very cool and convenient but it was not open when we arrived. I have heard they do a great job with the kids though. It is $7 per child and $3 per adult for admission but you can get an unlimited membership for $45 a month which includes 1 haircut and a pizza dinner every month as well. Very good deal.
