They told me my dog's heart was slightly enlarged. I asked why; they didn't know. I kept taking…read moremy dog to see them for 9 years. She had a bladder infection, so they told me to bring a urine sample. I had a devil of a time getting it, so they said they could take it from her bladder. The test results were no good because they had gone all the way through her bladder and into her bowel. Nothing else was done. She was almost 10 years old when I took her to my daughter's vet. Her heart was so enlarged that x-rays said it was cutting off her trachea and her esophagus. She could barely breathe. The vet referred us to Pullman. Long story short, a simple operation could have fixed her heart if we had caught it sooner. Meanwhile, her bladder was so infected that mats were floating in it. They gave her meds, which extended her life for about a year. She finally died of a kidney infection. All of this could have been prevented if anyone competent at that clinic had actually done anything besides shrugged their shoulders.

The honesty and transparency for pricing and issues has always been incredible. More recently, we had to say goodbye to our dog Barley in a manner that was quick and unexpected. We made a late night call to the Vet and Dr. Hayden saw us at 9:30pm despite being there all evening with another pet. We learned then that there was a high chance Barley had an aggressive form of cancer and Dr. Hayden handled the situation with empathy while also being realistic with what we were likely going to encounter after we had her in for an ultrasound. The Vet scheduled her the following day for an ultrasound and we were informed she had a massive tumor. The conversation with Dr. Hayden was, once again, empathetic and allowed us to make a decision within Barleys best interest. When we had to say goodbye to barley, the staff was extremely kind and the process was as uncomplicated as you want it to be during such a difficult time. Valley Vet will continue to be the care we seek for all future pets because of how they truly treated us and Barley like a member of their family. In the week that followed, we received a letter from WSU college of veterinary medicine detailing how Valley Vet had made a donation in Barleys name for the Pet Memorial fund. This kind act not only made us cry (in a good way) but also showed they genuinely do care about the family's that go to their office. Thank you valley vet and Dr Hayden for all that you do!

Susan has lovingly cared for my cats and my dog for several years. When she first started with us,…read moreI had two very senior kitties. When they passed, Susan was so kind and thoughtful - sharing memories with me. When I brought home two new rescues - she was so excited for me - and excited to meet them. As my dog grows older and more fragile, she shows such compassion - making me so grateful to have her in our lives. She has always gone well above and beyond, making sure to send adorable pictures of 'my boys' when I travel, and update her notebook with details from each visit. When she needs to take some time off (very rare, and always with a lot of notice), she coordinates substitute pet minders as needed. Her experience working for a vet just adds to my comfort in leaving my pets in her care. When my pets need pills or special care, she works with me to make sure all is administered if I'm not available. I have recommended her to three different friends, and they each speak glowingly about her service. She will work with folks for regular visits, or for vacation care.

She is kind, thoughtful, and we never had to worry with our dogs in her care. I could sense that Susan is great with dogs, and cared about ours like they were her own.
