I initially received prompt and thorough communication from this company relative to the work and product (custom double iron gate) but then the communications dwindled The time element is a factor because if it weren't for the longish wait- communications would not be an issue. I re-read the contract and prepared for the "start date" in the contract by removing my dogs, re-parking my pickup truck and letting my wife know that the work would take place on this date. When nothing happened I contacted the company and they explained "that's the date we start building your gate and then we will probably install the following week". Hopefully this lack of attention to detail will not be transferred to their work and product. It's easy to communicate clearly and effectively- not difficult at all so not sure why it's not a priority for the company but it does appear to be a habit. read more

Reached out to company for a gate. They said it would take only two weeks. Signed up to get gate and gave deposit. Only to wait almost 6 weeks for gate and no communications on updates but only when I reached out. I'm huge on communication and customer service. The product was nice but the service is key and not too good as a new customer. read more

Purchased an item from these folks and it arrived damaged. I asked them to send me some touch up paint to fix it so I wouldn't have to return it. They agreed but never sent it. I contacted them two more times over a couple of months and they agreed to send paint each time but never did. I finally had to petition PayPal for a refund and then these guys sent me a hateful message. I also had to pay return shipping. All of this and they knew I was an active duty Marine as they sell patriotic art to military and vets. So Daniel B. from Mad Fabrications responded saying they treat everyone with respect but Daniel, you didn't treat me with respect, in fact you were extremely disrespectful. In your parting comment about allowing customers to return products and pay they're own shipping, that in itself shows what that you're an unethical businessman, since your customers have to pay shipping to return a DAMAGED product that was damaged in shipping due to your poor packing process. Thanks for being so good to your customers and allowing us to pay! You're great! Sadly you actually make a ton of money off of patriotic themed items and you screw over your customers, even active duty Marines like me. Warning to future customers- We ordered a Captain America shield for our son for about $150 for his June 22nd birthday last year through the Mad Fabrications Etsy site. The sword came 6 weeks later and it was flat and not curved as it was shown in the picture. When we inquired about return directly with the maker (Daniel Aragon) he assured us of a refund if we paid to have it sent back. We spent $50 to sent it back a week after we got it (July 2019). Daniel never acknowledged the return and never gave us any refund after months and months of reminders and communication. He somehow blames Etsy when he is the one who received the return and could resell it to make double profit. What a total lack of customer care and sleezy way of doing business. Now we are out $200 that could have been spent on a gift for our son from an ethical business owner. Sad that someone talented enough to make some cool products could act like such a jerk ruining the whole point of art. read more

My overall satisfaction with purchasing from this metal fabricator was satisfactory. I think he/his crew do good work overall. I was satisfied and even mostly happy with the final product. However I was very dissatisfied with the customer service aspect. He quickly responded to my initial inquiry and personalized the item's design per my specifications, a great start! But, then he took many liberties when he made the product without running any of it by me for my approval or preference. I believe that on a customized item, my preferences are important. The final product was not as close to the example I based my order online from as I would have liked, something he could've easily discussed with me. The colors were lighter and he made it matte instead of shiny, all without asking for my input. I checked my Etsy conversation with him frequently hoping for updates or a picture... all without anything. When I finally got the final confirmation that it was complete, I had a very difficult time arranging a pick up, as per everything previously, his communication skills left a lot to be desired. He was not prompt, friendly, humble, or seemed genuinely interested in making sure that the customer was well-informed and involved in the product's final appearance. While I was overall happy with the product, I'm sorry to say that I do not believe I would purchase again from him because of the unsatisfactory customer service I experienced. read more

daniel installed a rustic gate almost a year ago...now its turning white and rusting out like crazy...daniel told me that it's normal for it to rust and to have orange fingers after you touch it....rustic and rust is two different things....save your money and deal with someone who actually has a business license and takes pride in there work, not someone who works off facebook!!!! read more
