Yay! Mad Mark's in UP Town! This branch looks a lot like the Kapitolyo branch. You enter, and the separate ice cream counter is there on the right. It goes deeper to the back with more seating, with the same wooden, bench-like surfaces around. It's becoming quite popular! It's already getting filled on weekend nights. No surprises though, the rep of good food and good ice cream easily travels right over teehee. It's pretty much the same menu, so still do go for the ribs, steaks, and other grilled things. Beware of carbo-loading! (Actually, don't. Who cares. Yummy sides here. Take advantage!)
I'm just a little surprised the ice creams are a little more expensive than Kapitolyo's. P95 for a single-scoop cup to Kapitolyo's P80. You might think it's such a burgis-priced ice cream, but I tell you, it's worth it. You should try it at least once, and that one cup is all you need. Rich, dense, and creamy, their ice cream is the type you don't need too much of to be satisfied. Not to say it's nakakaumay - it's not, at all - it's just very immediately gratifying because the flavors and textures fill up your taste buds all pleasantly right away. It doesn't melt as quickly; doesn't taste too sweet or processed; neither is it too soft or smushy. It's well-made homemade ice cream with really inventive flavors that use different kinds of ingredients. These flavors are ever-changing but they have constants that have become classic favorites like the Half-Baked Madagascar. I personally love any concoction they make with bananas. Always so good! read more
